this is it
Today is born the seventh one
Born of woman the seventh son
And he in turn of a seventh son
He has the power to heal
He has the gift of the second sight
He is the chosen one
So it shall be written
So it shall be done
(7th son of a 7th son)

hi titch...
um hallowed be thy name and the blood brothers intro do this to me
still life too...
"now It's clear and I know what I have to do
I must take you down there to look at them too
hand in hand and we'll jump right into that pool
can't you see not just me they want you too"

i agree with that bit of still life

Josh 01-16-2005 03:24 PM

songs that send shivers down my spine when i hear intros:
blood brothers
brave new world
the evil that men do

Sting2688 01-16-2005 03:43 PM

"A rush of blood and over we go" from paschendale always sends a shiver down my spine

Josh 01-16-2005 03:52 PM

^that is also true. how could i forget paschendale?!? and when they played it live, the pit was crazy...

Thunder Fingers 01-16-2005 03:54 PM

"Blood is falling like the rain
Its crimson cloak unveils again
The sound of guns can't hide their shame
And so we die on Paschendale"

Atleast it used to.. its been an while since i listened to that album now...Maby im gonna put it on tonight..

YDload 01-16-2005 03:59 PM

"Walking through the city
Looking oh so pretty
I've just got to find my wa-a-ay"

"Yeah-e-ah-e-aaaaaahhh... hallowed be thy name!" (x2)

"Fly on your way
Like an eagle
Fly as high as the sun"

By the way, are there any parts of Maiden songs where no one is playing but Steve? The only one I could think of is those two measures in "Phantom of the Opera" where he plays those triplets.

Off the top of my head i believe the solo in "Iron Maiden" and also the beginning of "Clairvoyant".

Wonder which albums will go far in the best album polls? :)

YDload 01-16-2005 06:09 PM

That is so cool, i love that line. I think the whole of blood brothers, the chorus of Aces high and " I will hope my soul will fly so i will live forever. Hope Will die my soul will fly and i will live forever" The thin line :thumb:

Me too.

and all of Revelations. Just how he sings it hits a nerve.

The Iron Langer 01-16-2005 09:42 PM

ooohhhh Revelations-Bruces voice sounds soooooo class on it
Dance Of Death(the song)always sends shivers down my spine
.....all had death in their eyes, lifeless figures they were undead all of them,
they had ascended from hell" :chug:

ForiegnPenguin 01-16-2005 09:58 PM

Many Maiden songs do the same to me.

thelittledrummerboy 01-17-2005 12:26 AM

Where did you first discover Iron Maiden?

I saw "Run to the Hills" on Rage (a video clip show ) and was blow away by the song. Thats what started my obsession.

thelittledrummerboy 01-17-2005 12:34 AM
the first song i learned by maiden was POTO and Fear Of The Dark (on drums)
The flight of icarus

icebase 01-17-2005 06:13 AM

Yeah, they do at first. You learn to hear the differences as you get into them.

Is it just me, or since I got this username, SO many people have started getting names with "penguin" in them.

Stevie 01-17-2005 06:31 AM

On "The Number Of The Beast" on A Real Dead One, during the introduction "Woe to be" part, there seems to be another voice in the part that speaks between "the number of the beast" and "it's number is 666" and then a bit after that, as well as in a few other places. Does anybody know what that is? Is it a band member or something I've missed in my thousands of times hearing NoB?

'Tis true, I'm away for like a day and there's all these new people... :p

Afraid to shoot strangers sends shivers down my spine.

Stevie: I think that's Brucey doing his typical little 'intro speaking' :thumb:

Lord Abortion 01-17-2005 06:45 AM

but it's not the fear... I'd rather go now...

ashman 01-17-2005 06:50 AM

Afraid to shoot strangers = Bloody ace song, Daves solo is amazing.

Is it me or are they leaving the UK dates a bit late this year?
