What an absurd question to ask :p
Espbassor 02-08-2005 11:07 AM

Ugh, one more hour of the server being down. I think I should take a nap...but I'd only get like 3 hours in before class...

gaslight 02-08-2005 11:07 AM

So guys, how are the bands you guys are in? Names, styles, what's the situation?

Espbassor 02-08-2005 11:08 AM
So guys, how are the bands you guys are in? Names, styles, what's the situation?
My band broke up, and stole my amp. Don't ask...

Espbassor 02-08-2005 11:08 AM

When did LR come back?

gaslight 02-08-2005 11:09 AM

Ouch man, I don't know what to say except... you must find them and eat their hearts.

black_star 02-08-2005 11:11 AM

Gaslight, don't believe we've met .

rybass 02-08-2005 11:12 AM

not going well for me....it's been just me and a guitarist for awhile now...fired our singer and a couple of drummers......don't have a band name but we play like basically just guitar oriented rock n roll.

Jamie 02-08-2005 11:15 AM

they stole your amp?!?!? Why??? please tell me about it! (*is asking*)

My band. Pyrite, is going good right now! we play funk infused alt rock and we've had two great practices up to now! We've been learning songs from bands such as muse, green day, jimi hendrix and led zeppelin. We have jams at our practices too and they have been going great!

http://pyritemusic.proboards41.com

thats our forum.

http://photobucket.com/albums/v698/pyritemusic/

and thats all our pictures. Strangely enough, im not playing bass in a single picture and dom the drummer isnt playing drums in a single picture! Im the one in the Element t-shirt :thumb:

JoeDaddio 02-08-2005 11:15 AM

Dude... if anyone stole my amp, I'd definatly murder somebody.

I'm Matt, 18 year old bassist/guitarist from Sydney Australia. 5 Years bass, 2 and a bit of guitar. Finished high school last year, starting music uni this year. Working hard on songs for my band and on my theory because I always forget it.

What about you?

mambogangsta 02-08-2005 11:17 AM

My bands going alright, our drummer ditched our asses for some really bad band and there are no drummers in the area...

joe
Hey man, oh you know, just hanging out. Guitar, bass, nintendo, playstation, TV. Just hanging out.

And yeah haha, I have some sweet new ones to rotate every few days/weeks.

gaslight 02-08-2005 11:36 AM

So I have this problem.

I want to buy some new gear, but I don't know what to buy first.

I want...

+ Ibanez AEL40S Electric-acoustic guitar.
+ Ibanez AX120 Electric guitar.
+ Digitech Digiverb Pedal

Now the electric-acoustic is $895, the electric is $695, and the pedal is $230.

I have $310.

So, I could buy the pedal now, but then I'm back down to $70. Leaving me a big climb to get either guitar.

I don't have an acoustic guitar, so naturally I'd like to have one.

But, the pedal is the only thing I can buy that will benefit my band as well as me, because I play bass in my band and the other two things are only for my benefit.

And yeah, can't decide.

:(

some times at night when the forums are slow I feel like this guy

Espbassor 02-08-2005 11:37 AM

@ Gas: Save up and buy all three at the same time, that way you won't have to make a decision. Avoiding the problem for teh win!!

JoeDaddio 02-08-2005 11:39 AM

Buy what you want. If the only reason you wouldn't buy an acoustic guitar is because it'd be "selfish", I say screw that. It's your money, do with it want you like.

I think that should be in the rules. Visual aides are much more convincing...

ShelBel 02-08-2005 11:40 AM

I'm just sitting here at work, doing research on Windows Server 2003 and listening to Duran Duran (demos- stuff that didn't make the new CD that SHOULD have) and Incubus (weird combo, I know) and hanging out here, drooling over basses on eBay, and I "built" a custom Peavey Cirrus 5 yesterday that was $2300.... *cries*

Now see, he tried to pass off the new living room set we just bought as my "birthday present", but I'm like "How can something we were going to buy anyway be my present?"

I don't want anything too spendy, really. I'd settle for a Peavey Fury or an Ibanez BTB405. *sigh*
