Gadd is cool, but if you saw him before, it's the same stuff. He never changes. Wait wait let me predict... A paradiddle groove!
Followed by the '50 ways' groove.

Win A Rabbit 09-26-2006 11:47 AM

:( HMV hasn't called me back yet. Do you guys think I should call them? My mom and friends said that they take it as a good sign when you call them after they don't call you for a couple days, to show you want to work there instead of you just dropping off resumes at 20 different places and waiting for a call.

Personally I don't think it'd do anything except bring me lower down.

It makes me sad, because the girl at the one place said they'd definately call back.

Edit: Just remembered I left a Diet Coke in the freezer over night. It exploded everywhere. Time to go clean. :(

Follow ups as a general rule are a good idea.

Win A Rabbit 09-26-2006 12:24 PM

So I ordered some Hardimons in through a local shop a couple months ago (yes, it's been a while) and the guy (who I know, me and him talk whenever I go in there) told me he'd give me a call when they came in. I was around the store a couple weeks ago, and stopped in to see if maybe they'd forgot to call me. He told me no, and that he had remembered to call me when they do come in.

But now it's been atleast 2.5 months since I ordered them, and I doubt they'd wait 2+ months to put in a Vic Firth order.

Josiah 09-26-2006 12:28 PM

Just order em off musiciansfriend or some other website, haha woulda had them 2 months ago!

I'd suggest getting a few pairs. Ralphs and MSII's are my personal Fav's.

Corkofski 09-26-2006 01:05 PM

owww... my limbs burn...

had a 5 and a half hour break today, spent it caning technique...

16th and 8th note single foot bass patterns, both feet
double stroke tom patterns
paradiddle grooves

the latter made me realise how bad my right hand / foot independence has got...
i found it hard to play a parradiddle on hats and snare, accents on 1 and 3, with a simple, 1---12-- bass pattern. kept playing another bass note on the end... pissed me off :/

Josiah 09-26-2006 01:15 PM

Slow it down and count outloud.

Corkofski 09-26-2006 01:19 PM

aye jos, thats what im doing. there seems to be a certain tempo above which i do it, below that im fine...

its bloody annoying

Sunshine 09-26-2006 01:57 PM

So, turns out, I didn't crack a rib afterall.

Thank. Freaking. God.

It would've hurt like this for like 3 more weeks.

maniac0796 09-26-2006 01:59 PM

I've cracked a rib.

It hurts to breath and so forth.

After a few metres of walking, you have to stop because of the pain.

Win A Rabbit 09-26-2006 02:01 PM

Yay, they had my Hardimon's. The shipment just came in yesterday, he said. These sticks are bigger than I expected.

Got me some new coated G1's too.

Janeway 09-26-2006 02:24 PM

Lolz. They're letting the KKK guy attack Jerry Springer.

I don't know why I watch this show.

Win A Rabbit 09-26-2006 02:46 PM

Jerry Springer is awesome. I used to watch it every day after school. Some of the stories on there are so stupid, but most of them are worthwhile.

Janeway 09-26-2006 02:55 PM

Well...Worthwhile and Jerry Springer used in the same paragraph.

You don't see that every day.

MyShrimpDied 09-26-2006 03:06 PM

Isn't a lot of that stuff scripted?

Janeway 09-26-2006 03:20 PM

Yeah, but it wouldn't be so funny if it wasn't.

I enjoy Nutella.

trysthedrummer 09-26-2006 03:27 PM

hehe we have that. Infact my brother had some on toast not long ago.

Janeway 09-26-2006 03:32 PM

I don't like it on Toast. I don't like anything on toast but butter.

I saw a tubby asian girl today.

You never see tubby asians. Ever. She's attractive, though.

Win A Rabbit 09-26-2006 03:32 PM

So I watched Jackass 2 again, and I've come to the conclusion that they all hate Dave England. Everything he does he gets absolutely destroyed. You'd think they'd have atleast some pity for the guy, but he's always got the most painful things.

But he does have the best "post-pain" voice I've heard.

Berk 09-26-2006 03:48 PM

WOOT 4 hours till Underoath.

Corkofski 09-26-2006 04:07 PM

dling jtm2

is it any good?

Janeway 09-26-2006 06:27 PM

Well, I'm in a really shitty fucking mood.

My sister is such a fucking cunt it's not even funny. Apparently I'm just a morbid little unsociable dingle berry for wanting to be a funeral director. Fuck that.
It's like teaching is the upitomy of careers. It's not. It's just dead end bullshit that nobody cares about once you get out of the mother fucking course.

It's fine, though. I'll drive my fucking Cadillac up and down her driveway, non-stop, for hours on end week after week, dangling $100 bills out of my window while she feasts on high class instant noodles and $2 bottles of wine to kill the pain of eternal damnation in highschool.

MXicanDrummer 09-26-2006 06:32 PM

That's the spirit!

Make sure its a 59 cadillac deville, course you'd have better luck parking a boat.

gastery6 09-26-2006 06:42 PM

you need to chill out

Quinto 09-26-2006 06:52 PM

agreed.
