Buzzcocks are pretty awesome. |
I'm inclined to agree with the top two posts.

As soon as I signed back onto the internet, I got cold. That must be some kind of bad sign.
In other news, I love playing my acoustic that I got for Christmas. |

My acoustic was really out of tune but I took it my guitar lesson today and my teacher helped me tune it. I'm pretty much useless gettings things in tune if they aren't close, because tuners can't really help you.

? Yeah they can. You tighten/loosen the string while playing it and the tuner picks up the sound and displays lights that show it's closeness to being in tune. When you get the center green light (or whatever for you) lit, you're good. |

I ordered a tuner today.[/QUOTE] I held a banjo from I think 1918 or so on Xmas eve. I even plucked a couple strings. It belonged to the parents of my mother's boyfriend (or at least it did before they gave it as a gift). It was pretty amazing, and in great condition. It was weird though since I've never actually held, or seen a banjo in person. |

Doesn't help when the thing is brand new out of the box and was never tuned. When I tuned it today with ym teacher, I had to tune it about about 10 turns of the pegs. It wasn't even picking it up when I tried tuning it. |

My grandpa has a mandolin from 1912 in great condition that he found in his dad's stuff. It's pretty amazing. |

I wish I could play something cool like a mandolin. Hell, this bass is enough of a challenge.:rolleyes: |
i have my freinds dads old mandolin and have been thinking of picking it up again. i did get into it a little when i was liek 13 but may as well.

I'm thinking about getting one. I love it's sound and they are so cheap compared to guitars. |

The first guy I got bass lessons from taught virtually every instrument under the sun, and the guy before me took mandolin, and I could hear him while waiting for his practice to be over. It sounds amazing. |
The guy I get lessons from only plays guitar and piano, and I think maybe bass.
I don't think he realized there was a mandolin in Tempest, as he tabbed out the mandolin lines for me to play on guitar. Nearly impossible to play the speed Lief plays with his mandolin on guitar. |
What's the standard tuning on a mandolin. I really know nothing about them.

GDAE I had to look it up. |
[QUOTE=Brain Toad]GDAE
I had to look it up.[/QUOTE] I didn't know they had 4 strings. That's pretty cool. |
it has 8 strings but in ordee to get the ringing sound it tunes every two strings the same.

Ah. Well I hope ya have fun with your new guitar then! I passed over that post. |
They have 8 actually, but since two are tuned in unison, it's written GDAE (had to look that up too)
|
actually it has an alternate tuning with an FAGD or something
|
Some may have 16 though.
[url]http://www.tempestmusic.com/images/lief_cropredy.jpg[/url] It's so awesome watching him play that thing. |
i actually have a lot of stuff left from when i was into bluegrass. my dad kind of pushed it on me but it got me into guitart and stuff.

[QUOTE=Crack-Rock-Steady]Holy hell, that's a mandolin?
And how come we don't have the [img] code one?[/QUOTE] Double necked electric mandolin, completely custom. The bottom neck is an octave higher then regular mandolin tuning. And [img] code is turned off in most forums due to goatse, ******* and the like. Hardcore and Other Music have it because J never turned it off. |

Of course we'd ban them, but it's much nicer not having to see it all. |

My Friend wrote this. Its so true. Ahaha. I love bakie.
...and that's when it hit me. Do people feel better about them selves with a comment from someone online? Does everyone mean what they say? When someone calls me cute; do I believe they're telling the truth? No, not really...not unless I've seen that person in real life. I mean, it's myspace...the only reason you're on here is to whore yourself right? People can comment on how pretty you are, of course they will. Why? Simple. You just posted 1 picture out of 10 you took that looks the most attractive. Why post one that shows the real you? Maybe because they won't compliment you? It's possible. ...why stop there? I mean, maybe part of your face is pretty. I mean, that HAS to be the reason why you took a picture from the air looking down at a 45 degree angle. Right? I know people who do this. They look alot different in real life. They may think ugly..but I think otherwise. But I find them twice as attractive. I mean, that's the real them. Not some fake set up. So what happens when you do meet someone from myspace? You realize thier scars, thier weight, thier smile, etc. You notice how imperfect they are. A huge dissappointment. Or a relief? That "myspace whore with 30 comments a picture" actually is fake. She or he looks nothing like thier pictures. Add 40 pounds more to what you expected, make them a foot shorter and give them a stupid smile. Why are you so ****ing afraid to show this? Why are you afraid to have someone say something negative? It's some asshole over the internet. THE. ****ING. INTERNET. You'd rather have people idolize you for someone you're not? Congrats; you're the worst of us all. Agree? Repost if you want. -Jesse Baker |

I saw a picture of you taken from above so the lense is pointing in a straight line right down your cleavage:lol::thumb: |
Ok, that probably wasn't the most tactful thing to say.
