I was actually thinking to meself the other day, "AG hasn't been in the thread a lot recently". Coz I wanted to ask you something about mailing lists, and what are the criteria for starting one.

AG 11-12-2006 02:48 PM

I have no idea how mailing lists work, tbh. I never thought they were a cool idea.

GurS 11-12-2006 02:55 PM

Hmm. Which mod tends to deal with mailing lists? It wouldn't be for just one forum, but it would be across all the forums. Basically, you know that 1001 albums list? I find that people generally want to try and also listen to all 1001 albums, so I thought mebbe starting a mailing list where people can contribute albums on the list, and slowly we all make progress on listening to albums on the list.

Jev 11-12-2006 03:09 PM

Spat Out Path does one in the Pop Music forum and I think the R&M mods help out with the Daily upload.

Kif 11-12-2006 05:39 PM

The upload mailing lists are for people who can't use P2P programs.

/me goes on IRC

Yeah, that movie is pretty damn sweet. Reminds me of Christmas. Emilio Estevez is such a mighty man.

Put on a wash, had a shower, and I'm practicing at the moment. Got my lesson in a bit, then there's band practice this evening which should be good =]

Jev 11-13-2006 06:44 AM

I have 2 school trips tomorrow

GurS 11-13-2006 07:47 AM

I think Vegemite is made with vegitables? Whereas marmite is made from the yeast that's left over in beer fermentation barrels, once the beer's fermented and been taken out the barrel. That black left-over yeasty stuff at the bottom of the barrel, that's marmite.

(Cash in the Attic ftw)

Jev 11-13-2006 07:53 AM

What about bovril?

Aria. 11-13-2006 07:54 AM

na thats vegemite and im damn sure vegeimite was invented first

GurS 11-13-2006 08:15 AM

Sorry mang, but marmite was first - wikipedia says Marmite, 1902, Vegimite, 1923. 21 years ahead of ya, dude.
