I'm pretty sure SunnO ))) also do equipment. I'll check.

EDIT : Yeah there named after an amp brand have a looka here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunn_O%29%29%29

GurS 11-11-2006 02:51 PM

Oh right. Plagarists :p

Ok, I need to ask a question that I'd really love to get answered. Does anyone here have any experience or expertise with Hammonds? I've got a question about mine. (I know, I should probably ask in the Other Instruments forum, but I thought I'd ask 'locally' first :))

Patrick O))) 11-11-2006 02:57 PM
Yo Pat, you like Sunn O))), right? They're a band, right? Then why in the South Park credits, where it lists the equipment used by Primus, does it mention Sunn O))) (I'm pretty sure it was the South Park credits, maybe credits for a different show?)
They took their name from some of their first equipment I believe

You should check out the album they just released, a colaboration with the band Boris

Even if you're not that into drone/doom metal, it's very accessible. The middle track's almost hilariously mellow

I gotsa new toy in my lap :D

I've seen/been around one being used, dunno if I can help

GurS 11-11-2006 03:00 PM

Well, under mine, there's a jack input which seems to say "Ext. In." (the writing's a little faded). I'm assuming this is for plugging a guitar in, so that you can use the leslie speaker on the guitar, but I want confirmation that this is what it's for, lest I blow up me Hammond.

Patrick O))) 11-11-2006 03:11 PM

Oh

Nah, I don't know. Hammond organ amirite?

GurS 11-11-2006 03:16 PM

Hammond organ indeed. I'm not 100% sure what kind, I think it's a J-200 model, with a Leslie 125, from what I can tell by the label and the internet
what were the noisettes like
Yeh, there alright, from what i saw, i missed most of them geting in late/being at the bar. But they seemed ok.

Patrick O))) 11-11-2006 04:00 PM

oic

My old college had a hammond organ for a production we put on, but I never saw any guitar being used on it

Speaking of guitars ... >.>

THEY CAME! ^-^
:blurry pics ftw:

Jev 11-11-2006 04:01 PM

Nice.

Patrick O))) 11-11-2006 04:10 PM

needs locking tuners first off

It's fantastic for £120

And the amp was £50

Jev 11-11-2006 04:14 PM

I got a better marshall than that for free

was from a relative though.

I need to fix one of my locking tuners on my Ibanez, it won't lock. No idea how to do it though.

Patrick O))) 11-11-2006 04:19 PM

>:-/

Hehe, I don't mind, I've a Randall half stack in my bedroom :P

The bridge of this one's an Ibanez floyd licenced, so if you try and dive bomb it pretty much lifts the strings out of the nut and they can go anywhich way INCLUDING loose. I intend to make it a bit of a frankenstein, eventually replacing the bridge entirely, what with bareknuckles etc \m/

First things first though, locking tuners. Pa said not to worry about paying him back for the amp, so I've £50 kicking around to start with :D

Untitled 11-11-2006 04:22 PM

Sounds cool.

I wanna mod a guitar/bass.

But i cant afford to.

Jev 11-11-2006 04:26 PM

You could always mod it with household items :p

Untitled 11-11-2006 04:27 PM

He he, yeah.

Ill make a tremolo for my bass with a wooden spoon.

Jev 11-11-2006 04:28 PM

Dude that would be sweet.

reminds me of Nigel Tuffnell's signature guitar with bits of lego on it.

2muchket! 11-11-2006 05:35 PM

w00t first band practise with my first band in a bout 3 years is next week I think. Ima gonna 'ave to learn Enter Sandman as a warm up. Should be pretty easy.

GurS 11-11-2006 10:23 PM

anyone else feel that we're suffering from a bit of freddeath?

2muchket! 11-12-2006 06:30 AM

Aye. I balme it on the fact that we all have lives now. Socialising kinda gets in the way of posting.

GurS 11-12-2006 08:18 AM

Yeh, well, I've always managed to fit in socialising with MX just fine - I was actually probably socialisng more before the apparant freddeath than now. I reckon it was when everyone went off to uni.

ChodaBoy 11-12-2006 08:44 AM

Agreed, but you would think with the hours you normally get in uni, they would be on alot more. Unless they're always out :chug:ing

Lmao.

Bill Bailey doing an animal show is great. Hes doing something about bats, and they had a big net, and he felt it and was like "ohh, it feels like a little pixies eyelash" hes so random.

jpshortstuff 11-12-2006 01:08 PM

'sup?

i got a fat headache from work. it was boiling today. we had all the heaters off but it was still overwhelming.

Lord Abortion 11-12-2006 01:59 PM

Yeah, Uni has totally removed MX time for me.

Drum Phil 11-12-2006 02:00 PM

Uni. Lol.

Jev 11-12-2006 02:04 PM

I stopped posting lots in this thread.
Maybe that's one reason?

2muchket! 11-12-2006 02:14 PM

True. My posting has kept up but I've got Law notes to memorise and about 8 psychology studies to know inside out.
