Feel The Darkness 04-06-2008 06:51 PM
That song is sick. Is that for the new 7" on A389 (or whatever it its name is)?
yessir. Dom is putting this one out. The CD version is coming out on Still Life Records from Italy which will compile the 3 new tracks, the splits with 7 Gen and Invade, the OOP "Survival Instincts" EP, and the "Songs for the Converted" demo.

Follow up question to getting letters of rec...

Did you have to write a statement about yourself? What kinds of info did you talk about? Just your background and stuff?

Let's Chop Cats! 04-10-2008 07:39 PM

I didn't have to write a statement but I did have to write a like 1 page essay on going abroad. I just wrote about how Brisbane has a very large music scene and how into music I am, also about how I liked to travel and this is a once in a life time chance.

Let's Chop Cats! 04-21-2008 12:15 AM

I'm in Brisbane right now. Spent the weekend down in Byron Bay/Coolangatta surfing and staying at this shitty hostle. Brisbane > Sydney

BuddyBigsby 04-21-2008 03:04 AM

Thanks for getting me more stoked. I've been going through all my app stuff this past week. Go find QUT and tell me if its cool.

Dude, you were 20 minutes away from me.

Let's Chop Cats! 04-22-2008 03:39 AM

Where are you specifically?

Today was organzing things for tomorrow, going to Mt. CoolTah (or something) and the botanical gardens.

Tomorrow we're touring the XXXX factory, Thusday is rock climbing. Friday a Rugby game (not sure if its league or union). Also waking up mad early for anzac day. Head out sunday morning.

40 oz 2 freedom 04-23-2008 12:33 AM

Converge never ceases to amaze. Ended on Jane Doe tonight.

Robina, specifically. 15-20 minutes up the highway from Coolangatta, near the Robina Town shopping centre if you know where that is. Alternatively, I live right near Skilled Park, which is the home of the Titans (the rugby team).

santi3hg 04-23-2008 01:26 PM

I'm hoping this is true.

Hah I got off at the Robina rail station which is pretty much next to a stadium which I'd assume is that one.

Scott, I didn't go to QUT since I don't know anyone there but the way the city is setup that isn't a problem really, place is sick, definitely do it if you can.

Ill Reality 04-23-2008 08:09 PM

Down to Nothing posted a new track for those interested.

I'm trying to decide on whether to go see them or not next week. What was the set list like?

Can't wait for Muncipal Waste/Victims/War Hungry on Sunday and then Tragedy/Iron Age on Thursday.

ATM 04-23-2008 08:27 PM

I'm seeing Municipal Waste tomorrow night with Coke Bust.

Def go see converge, I'm hoping I can... its at the beginning of my AP testing :(:(

Tragedy would be sick, too bad no good shows come around me

Badass, they come to Maryland on May 1st or 2nd, I can't remember.

Haha word, which Uni do you go to?

Scott, sort of found out where QUT is and if I'm correct its in like the middle of the city and seems to be a pretty good spot. No idea what the campus is like though.

I haven't seen Converge in years, but I have no desire to hear anything live from the past 2 albums.

40 oz 2 freedom 04-26-2008 08:45 PM

If you don't like You Fail Me, then I just dont know what to say

Let's Chop Cats! 04-26-2008 08:59 PM

I like YFM, I just would rather see them play other stuff than whats on that record and the newest one. Last time I saw them was right when YFM came out.

Iluvatar 04-26-2008 09:00 PM

any setlist that has My Great Devastator, Locust Reign, and Jane Doe is pretty much an auto win.

edit: I do wish that setlist had more WFCC though

QUT.

It depends what campus you're talking about too. The Garden's Point campus is right on the end of the CBD at the botanical gardens, Kelvin Grove campus is about 5 minutes out of the city on a bus. Scott would probably be at KG if he is doing communications/journalism.

BuddyBigsby 04-26-2008 10:33 PM

The set that Pat posted is pretty solid, I'd definitely pay to see that set. I agree with Reiner though, I could do without YFM and No Heroes songs live, with the exception of the song "You Fail Me" and that one song off of No Heroes, you know the one I'm talking about. I didn't even go see them this tour though because the Blacklisted rec release was the same night.

PS. Reiner, Br3ad actually goes to QUT, I just wanted to hear an American perspective on it. I got my recs and transcripts turned in and I just gotta finish up the application, and I wrote a legit statement of purpose, I'm stoked.

Let's Chop Cats! 04-27-2008 12:56 AM

Word, nice. I'm gonna write my mom a big email on all the **** I did so I'll probably post that here.
