are you unaware of the massive cases pending against it in several countries?

EDIT: idk the progress of them though
It's really just Sweden, and they were convicted. But I think the three people who were accused have left the country, and are doing appeals anyway.

That blog has been following it all pretty closely.

I am 5'8" and ~130lbs, can do 50lbs curls without a problem.

LET'S TAKE THIS OUTSIDE, BRO

I do not actively workout anymore outside of riding bicycles because I want huge thighs, so I can look like Chris Hoy, on the right:

If he walks at the right speed, the vibrations produced when his thighs rub together approaches a low E.
Cinelli makes damn light stuff, I'm kind of disappointed that the handlebars I got aren't drops, but my friend wants them for his bike anyway, so they'll go to good use.

I really hate the different size and thread standards for Italian stuff though.
It's still not as bad as Swiss "standards." They basically just change the thread pitch on the bottom bracket by a tiny amount, and suddenly you can only have swiss parts.
Meh, drops are easy to come by. What handlebars came with it? Honestly, I cannot imagine riding on anything other than drops. I tried bullhorns, ****ing hated them. I have not tried risers, and I might soon, but they seem so inconvenient for riding purposes. You have one riding position, that is it.

North road or priest bars might be fun if I build up a townie SS to cruise around on when I felt like taking it easy.

Also, looking out for different threading sucks. If you do not realize what you are threading into, put something which does not fit, you can say hello to your stripped threads.

EDIT: Forgot my picture of what I used to dream of buying:

I mean look at those thighs!

actually, a 50 lbs dumbbell curl is absolutely legit. 50 lbs dumbbell/100 lbs barbell is an excellent lift

that is

if you advocate GREAT form. I bet I can curl 200 lbs if I use my back, start off poorly, and swing the weight up. but to control and isolate the lift to just the bicep, a 50 lbs dumbbell curl is excellent.

Epidemechanical 09-19-2009 02:16 PM

after lifting for a year and being very strong, big, and fit - my max bicep curl is 115. I don't really care about numbers that much, though - I care about form, and making reps count so I can isolate and FEEL the correct muscles being used. That is the key to lifting.

but a 115 lbs barbell curl isn't anything to scoff at. It's pretty serious business.

Epidemechanical 09-19-2009 02:18 PM

this is a great video regarding form for the bicep curl. most people SERIOUSLY suck at curling, so this is a great video.

They are just fairly short straight bars. Not the little tiny ones, but still pretty short.

Cervelo makes some damn fine stuff. They're based in Canada apparently.

Have you ever held zipp wheels in your own hands? My boss has a set, they weight less than pretty much every component on my bike.

I am not saying it is not. Most people who just stepped into a gym are not necessarily going to be popping off 50lbs curls.
but for someone who is 5'7 and probably weighs somewhere in the 160 range, it's not half bad.
And it was mostly because of that I was laughing. 5'7" and 160lbs does not tell me anything about a person, other than he could be muscular or overweight, considering he is an inch shorter and 30lbs more than me.

I do not understand how people ride around with the tiny, chopped bars. This girl I am crushin' on has those. You cannot sprint, it is harder to balance when you stand up, and the leverage is not great for climbing hills.

Argon 18, Marinoni, and Cervelo are all based in Canada. :)

And, no, I have never held Zipp wheels. I have seen people with them, but I do not actually know anyone who owns a set. LBSs here do not stock them, either. :upset:

Efrim 09-19-2009 03:05 PM

One of my friends told me it helped him navigate through cars better, which doesn't make sense, because they are smaller than his shoulder width...

The cinellis aren't chopped, thank god, but they certainly aren't very long. Around 2-2.5 feet, I would say.

Yeah, I knew about Argon 18, their factory is about 1km away from me, which is pretty cool.

EDIT: by factory i mean offices.

Yeah, I never understood that. I navigate traffic just fine with my 41cm ergo drops.

Convectuoso 09-19-2009 04:24 PM
my new diet

Breakfast: 4 eggs (1 yolk, 4 whites) on 1 piece of whole wheat fiber+ toast
Early Lunch: Lunchmeat sandwich (same bread as above)
Lunch: Yogurt and cottage cheese
Late Lunch: 1 can of tuna and a baked potato (4 minutes in the microwave)
Dinner: 1 chicken breast 1 vegetable
Post Workout: Protein shake (12 oz skim milk 2 scoops whey protein)

the general rule of thumb is 6 meals a day, each with 1 protein and 1 carb (and 1 fruit or vegetable a day as well.)

1 protein = roughly a fist size of whatever i'm eating. so when I eat cottage cheese for my protein, I buy containers or use an amount that is roughly the size of my fist.

1 carb follows the same rule, as does vegetables and fruit.

I don't count calories or grams of protein, but I do avoid fat at all costs. IE not eating the yolk of eggs, peeling the skin off the chicken, etc.
Brah, you're making me feel fat and disgusting for eating the way I do.

Not that I'm fat, but my diet is horrible.

I eat well, just not a strict diet tailored for specific results. Just try and get a good variety and enough carbs before/after cardio.

I ride 44cm drops, and it pretty much fits my shoulder breadth. It's just plain silly to use less than that.

I still have another can left.

You know the smirnoff and gurana/pulse/elevate/vodka and caffeine piss we have here? The **** that makes your blood boil and your heart quake?

Like that but with malt liquor in place of vodka, is my understanding. Max. 2 per day kiddies, read the can.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Alcoholic energy drinks are as stupid as that guy who used to run America.
Honestly, I used to drink Sparks all the time back in the day. I recently started going out to parties again, and 4loko is cheap and works.

I will probably go back to drinking vodka, though.

I find it funny I will drink alcoholic energy drinks, though, because I will not drink normal energy drinks. Caffeine makes me tired, and the sugar gives me a massive headache, but that all seems to disappear when alcohol is involved. **** yeah!

Also, Liam, what is this about you having an ex-wife? You are, like, 12.

funkyhoney 09-21-2009 12:21 AM

I find it funny how badly alcoholic energy drinks can damage your body and taste like complete **** AND cost 3 times what they're worth ALL AT ONCE.

Shamwow.

Pluperfect_Arson 09-21-2009 12:43 AM

Dude, I am feeling the effects from last night. I have, like, acid reflux at the moment from throwing up and ****. 4loko Watermelon does not taste too bad, though. Uvo, their grape flavor, tastes like ***; I have not tried Fruit Punch, but I have an unopened can next to me.

Also, you drink 23.5 fluid ounces for 2.50$, so it is not horribly wallet denting.

It is a party in a can.

I do not think it is any worse than people consuming copious amounts of energy drinks every day as it is.

I drank this alcoholic energy drink called High Gravity Core once, and it tasted like straight up chemicals. It was pretty disgusting.

funkyhoney 09-21-2009 01:19 AM

Mixing a depressant with several stimulants, both of which are dehydrating in nature, no I don't see any problems here.

Pluperfect_Arson 09-21-2009 02:02 AM

Nah, man, it is because mother****ers be actin' a fool.

Spaceman Spiff 09-21-2009 07:13 AM

So I finally found a band in Toronto that I like and really want to play some shows with. Check out At The End Of The World; it's my favorite of the songs they have up, but I do like all four of them. The band is called Datura.

Being angry is not fun anyway. :)

Also, I have not! Doing some research, it seems that thujone is in absinthe, but wormwood trees and other such trees/plants also contain it. I know 4LOKO contains wormwood oil, but I doubt it has the same effects. Four LOKO is US-only, though. They have another drink that originally started their line called Four MaXed, which is sold in both the US and EU, but the EU version contains absinthe and is spirit-based, unlike the US malt-based version according to the Wiki article.
