Yeah, I like pictures!
I'm liking this new OD model because it has a 2band EQ in it as well, living the dream. I can't wait to mess around on the chorus when it arrives though, I love chorus.
The only thing I hate about mine is that I loose all of my mid frequencies and can't cut through very well with it.

Cut the hi's and low's and boost the overall volume = mids.

I have the volume maxed and the only way I can get the clean vs. OD volume to be the same is to boost the bass and treble on it also.

I may just have to look into a different overdrive pedal.
What are the side effects of simethicone?
there are none.

maybe dizzyness but since its a foam so not taken orally unless youre taking it orally then it shouldnt really affect you.

it is related to codeine though i believe

Hrmm, perhaps a cheap EQ pedal could help you out?

The whole OD effect in general has cutting through issues just because of the nature of the effect.

I do take it orally because sometimes I get indigestion/bloating type issues in my stomach. No worse feeling than bloatedness....

And yes, I know there are none, I was merely testing you :p

I'll tell you what though phenylephrine sucks balls as a nasal decongestant.

That's what I've been taking for the last 5 days, I'm still not getting over the actual virus though, if I'm not better by Saturday I'm going to have to see someone.

gaslight 08-13-2009 09:34 AM

You'll never maintain 100% of your tone through an OD pedal because by definition it changes the waveform so much that you just won't be able to keep all the sonic qualities that were there before.

Up your orange juice or pineapple juice bro that'll fix you.

If that doesn't do it, bomb your body with incredibly harsh medicine. Those are two things that fix me.

Well it's already Friday here... so tomorrow. Having said that, doctors aren't open on weekends. Damn. It's nothing bad, just a head cold.

Also I'm considering starting a web journal (blog, yes I hate this word) about my adventures with the band and our little journey into the industry, an insiders look at the music world if you will. Little stories and anecdotes of our adventures which will be not only entertaining, but insightful... Also it'll stop me being lazy and get me writing something. The more of that I do the better or I'm just going to be terrible when I jump back into my course.

LiveJournal, WordPress, Blogger?

I don't know which one to use.

TimJim 08-13-2009 09:46 AM

blogger

You are a horrible person for making a blog, Funkyhoney.

Have fun with it.

Yes, I know. I don't like much overdrive, but I like a bit of crunch. I'm going to head to GC today and try out a couple different pedals. It might just come down to grabbing a GEB-7 and flipping them on simultaneously.

Oh wow, that hurts man.

Are you just saying that because I'm far too opinionated about correct use of the English language and using a format that is fundamentally flawed and is more or less reliant on the use of contracted English to convey my ideas will eventually lead me into some form of murder-suicide ending rampage?

That's what I was getting at. Even just an el-cheapo behringer EQ would do it.

Nah I just hate blogs.

As long as you don't emo out on it I probably won't hate yours though because you're a cool guy.

I can get a used GEB-7 for $50. I'd rather spend the extra $20 and get a good pedal. I've read too many negative reviews about the Behringer EQ.

I do to, that's why I say web journal. "Blog" sounds like a hideous creature that lives in swamps and communicates by farting. And no it's not a bunyip.

I'm hoping it will also help increase traffic to the band site (when we finish our real one, I will probably also eventually switch to actually hosting it directly from said site) and give people who are interested in our stuff a bit more of a personal look. I just think it's a reasonably original idea, especially considering we're small time it'll give people a nice look at what it's like being in a band trying to make their way.

As well as advice of sorts about gigging, recording, such and such.

Haha, yeah, I'm awesome alright. Incidently that comment reminds me about when I used to being ambiguous and androgynous on here and no one knew whether I was male/female/gay/straight/whatever. Many personal laughs ensued.

Well do that then. Out here Boss pedals are about 5 times the price of Behringer. Having said that, after my first amp I would never buy Behringer again unless I wanted something I could throw off a building and still use.

funkyhoney 08-13-2009 10:04 AM

Oh ****, that reminds me, our EP came back from being pressed/printed. I literally couldn't stop smiling even though I was sick and at work, the quality is fantastic.

I love working with both a graphic designer and a photographer.

funkyhoney 08-13-2009 10:14 AM

That second photo was terrible, my bad, the CD design is lovely.

The front cover is hard to see in that photo, but the name is watermarked more largely underneath the main title and there is a ripple type effect radiating outwards.

I've had some poopty luck with my Behringer mixer also, so I feel your pain.

Have you looked for companies that will ship Boss products internationally? Maybe something like MusicGoRound.com? they always seem to have great deals

gaslight 08-13-2009 10:24 AM

CD looks nice man. I like the photo inlay. What kind of deal did you get on the manufacturing?

And that girl is really hot.

No I have not... I bought the three I wanted on impulse yesterday anyway :p
