still gonna need that password.
and I say as a first album, Number of the beast. People who are new to maiden get bored by Rime and also don't fully appreciate Flash of the Blade, The Duellists and Back in the Village. i'd say powerslave is more a third or fourth album.
Ok thanks. I love The Duellists though. I was listening to Powerslave at my friend's house and I think the cd is great. That's why I asked about that one too. |
Is powerslave good?
|
Powerslave is good; Rime is the best song by far, an abosolute epic. Followed by Powerslave, then Aces High, then Losfer words (big 'orra).
|
Oooh,
Rhyme Of The Ancient Marriner? Bloody amazing song. And yeah, the only word to describe that is "Epic" |
I change my mind, not just epic....Bloody Epic :thumb:
|
You know what?
I'm gonna honour Maiden by listening to it now! :thumb: |
Rime is the esence of exelent epic Maiden songs, so 'kin sweet to play and listen to...

Meh I prefer DOD to BNW, allthough BNW has the wicker man on it (.)
Anyway, a trainspotter is someone who hangs around train stations and waits for trains to come in, then they identify the train. Weird, I know :p. Anyway, can someone recomend me a Maiden album, I'm a pretty seasoned listener. I have:Iron Maiden,The Number Of The Beast, Piece Of Mind, Brave New World and DOD. I also have Rock In Rio..but..yeah. Anyway, so any recomendations? |
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son or Powerslave
|
Seventh Son, has The Clairvoyant on it doesn't it?
|
Aha! I have returned from out of the Beyond!!
Yes I think it has |
Amazing song that is.
I'm listening to C.O.B cover the Trooper now. Thanks GurS :-/ |

i remember you :/
anyway, what line from a maiden song is so amazing that it just sends shivers down your spine? |

well hello all, ive been gone nearly 2 days and only 2 days of the thread to catch up on. well the velvet revolver gig last night wasnt bad, there were a lot of people wearing maiden tops there. wasnt as good as maiden, but i dont think many gigs could be that good. arghhhhhh still no UK tour dates.
|
i was listenin to 7th son of a 7th son album album last nite - havent listened to it in ages - my favourite album now
|
x factor rules because of...
all tracks but mainly the aftermath, judgement of heaven, SOTC, fortunes of war, the edge of darkness and blood on the world's hands |
Newb to thread, not maiden
 Maiden is what made me want to learn bass. Steve harris is more than a god. No band matches maiden's greatness. Fear of the Dark was the first song I ever learned(7 months ago) and I still love to play it. This thread is great and i wish i got in it sooner. UP THE IRONS!!!!!!! \m/ Hell is from here to eternity...
|
the first song i learned by maiden was POTO and Fear Of The Dark (on drums)
|
welcome then...
we need a new acronym for this situation how about HIG (harris is god)? |
my first song i learned on drums was paranoid by sabbath and for whom the bell tolls by 'tallica
oh and wicked game by HIM (shame). band I was in at the time was kinda geared that way... |
i remember you :/
anyway, what line from a maiden song is so amazing that it just sends shivers down your spine?
Oh well, wherever, wherever you are, Iron Maiden's, gonna get ya, no matter how far and... i'm waiting in my cold cell as the bell begins to chime reflecting on my past life and it doesn't have much time cause at five o' clock they take me to the gallows pole the sands of time for me are running low there are too many to name (The Evil That Men Do pre-chorus) |
mine is "girls drinking plasma wine" from strange world. it's so **** surreal!
|
sorry if your in the middle of something but has anyone heard montserrat cabellé and bruce dickinson's cover of bohemian rhapsody?
the chorus of blood brothers used to send shivers down my spine , but i havnt listend to it in ages so it probably doesnt anymore |
rolling, turning, diving..........etc from aces high gives me adrenaline (!?)
im coming back, i will return, i will possess your body and ill make you burn (NOTB) the last bit from the seventh son of a seventh son song cant remember how it goes |
I left alone... my mind was blank... I needed time to think to get the memories from my mind [:evil]
