Metallion666 expect to get banned soon unless you read the rules. That was a really dumb and uneducated post.

First off, you should have a mild understanding of genres. Besides Something Wild, there is no black metal in Bodom, and Something Wild only has small hints of it. Death Metal? That's just gotta be a joke, The vocals also have no power metal in them at all, I don't know what you think powermetal vocals are, but if you think that's what they are you are crazy, Rhapsody's vocals are powermetal vocals.

Second of all don't blatantly bash bands without backup. Whether you think Rhapsody is stupid or not your gonna sound dumb saying it like that.

Thor 09-25-2005 01:21 PM
The lyrics were never fantasy based. This band is about the music, which is certainly power metal
Well that's not always the case, Iced Earth bases their songs around lyrics all of the time.

Horror Show was based around lryics, mind you.

AA-12 09-25-2005 01:23 PM
Black/death metal instrumentally and black/power vocally.
Just add in power metal and remove black in the instrumental part.
By the way rhapsody is really stupid.
Rhapsody > Most bands.

Am I the only Iced Earth fan who thinks Horror Show was like way better than the other albums? I've only heard two songs so maybe I can't judge, but I hate Barlows vocals on every album besides that one. On that album they are completely different, and I think much much more powerful. I've heard Wolf and Dracula which are two of the best songs I've ever heard by a powermetal band. No one ever seems to mention them though and always go on about A Question of Heaven or some song like that, which I am not too fond of.

metalhead_matt 09-25-2005 01:26 PM

sorry, but children of bodom are classed as power metal all the way in my book.

Im talking specifically about Bodom

Metallion#666 09-25-2005 02:22 PM

I really like iced earth, exept the glorious burden is really cheesy.
I really like iced earth, exept the glorious burden is really cheesy.
Cheesy? Have you heard Gettysburg?

Metallion#666 09-25-2005 02:50 PM
Cheesy? Have you heard Gettysburg?
I know. I really like Iced earth, but the songs are about American history...=cheesy.

Huber 09-25-2005 02:52 PM
I know. I really like Iced earth, but the songs are about American history...=cheesy.
How is that cheesy? Have you taken a US History or Government class? American History is full of remarkable events. Most very heartfelt. Being serious and writing lyrics about that isn't cheesy.

flamesofbodom 09-25-2005 02:53 PM

Im amazingly sick of US History. Its way too repetitive, maybe b/c ive taken it for 9 years?

Moses 09-25-2005 02:59 PM

My AP US History class is taught by an animated right-wing genius. It keeps it really interesting.

Metallion#666 09-25-2005 03:00 PM

Music Should Not Be Educational!

flamesofbodom 09-25-2005 03:06 PM

Why?
My AP US History class is taught by an animated right-wing genius. It keeps it really interesting.
I live in such a liberal community so every history teacher I have is a left wing nutcase and they love me because I wear Rage Against the Machine shirts all the time.

NP - Emperor - With Strength I Burn

Metallion#666 09-25-2005 03:11 PM
Why?
I dont know. It just seemed like a convieniently shallow thing to say. I mean, I dont really care if it is.

IheartSP 09-25-2005 03:11 PM

Metallion666 stop being unreasonable.

I'm taking AP world hist, and my teacher's this fruity old bat that makes jokes and she's the only one laughing.

My literature teacher called that chick who wrote Pride and prejucice a bitch.

Yeah it should be, or else RATM would have no purpose. :thumb:

Your right. RATM is great though. Another good political band is Unearth.

Taste_My_Scythe 09-25-2005 06:37 PM

Does anyone have uploads for the Rebel Yell and Sepultura cover?
He is...he has a better range, but him doing a Hetfield impression is like having Ashlee Simpson mimic Angela Gossow...it just ain't right.
You and your Angela.
Haha.

I think I was banned for trying to start a pro-aryan modship and removing all non white members.
Are you serious?
I think Bodom are far superior songwriters to Kalmah, and that is most of the reason why they are so much popular. I like Kalmah but there really is no comparison in my mind. Same case with Norther, it's similar but changed a little but, but just doesn't add up to what Bodom's got.
I think so too. I always put them all in the same category...they are the same kind of music, but none of them can come close to Bodom and Alexi.
I think Wintersun is the only real contender with Bodom, and they are almost too different to really compare. If Wintersun's next album is anything like the first, I'll have to say they are better than Bodom, the first album was better than either Hatebreeder or FTR imo.
Do you? Fanboy... :p
Again, I don't think they can match up or even "contend" with Bodom.
They are awesome, but not better
Agreed.
Just shoot for Bed of Razors and work your way up.
:thumb: Good advice.
