You can buy it on amazon.
Nonononononono. That isnt official, it is just the VHS version ripped and put onto a DVD by someone. They are still working on the official one(It has been delayed several times). When they release it, it will no doubt kick ass.

Once I buy my new computer, I will upload quite afew PF bootlegs to the this thread. YSI doesnt work anymore on this computer.

standard 06-29-2005 11:14 PM

Someone was looking for a link to the radio that plays Pink Floyd bootlegs, just open winamp, go to file > winamp radio, and search for pink floyd.

TerryThorne 06-30-2005 12:17 AM
Pink Floyd is known for having some of the most bizarre album covers. In a way.. But they all mean something.

Like WYWH, the guy on fire shows a guy getting ****ed over in a deal... Refer to Have A Cigar.

Ummagumma is my favorite album cover by far. I love how in the picture it shows the band members, in the same spots, but different people.
I always thought that the burning man represented Barret, but I guess that other makes more sense

DeusExMachina 06-30-2005 11:52 AM

Gilmour, definitely upload bootlegs. I will heart you forever. By the way, I like the old school icon. Any particular reason for the change?

Does anyone have a recording of Come In Number 51, Your Time has Come?

Standard, thanks for the info about the Pink Floyd radio thing. I don't think that's the same site I'm looking for, (I have a link to the site at my home, but I'm in Iowa for the next week or two) but I'll definitely check it out.

Riva 06-30-2005 06:34 PM

I tried uploading the Pink Floyd - Live At Club Beat bootleg I have, but it failed halfway through. Stupid YSI!

standard 06-30-2005 10:45 PM

I was just thinking, wouldn't it be amazing if Waters wrote a book about the meanings of all his music?

I for one, would definatly read that.

On the note of books, has anyone read 'Inside Out'? I was thinking of buying it.. Is it worth it?

another guy 07-01-2005 12:24 AM

Why do you think Pink Floyd is so timeless?

What do you think? What gave them their universal appeal? Was it their ability to seamlessly infuse new rock and roll formulas with traditional jazz (most of Us And Them) and blues (Seamus)? Has anybody else ever tried to really pinpoint the quality that makes them such a classic?

herbalH.erb 07-01-2005 12:26 AM

They bore me, but I guess they made some pretty good stuff, and the really good stuff like that never stops being that good :)

i guess its that they were really the first truely prog band to go big?i dunnop
5. Before making a thread, check the forum to make sure there isn't a similar thread already. The search function works so use it. There are several ***OFFICIAL*** threads, a list of links is provided below. Post anything dealing with these bands in their ***OFFICIAL*** threads. Metallica for example has an official thread. If you post anything dealing with Metallica outside their official thread it will be considered spam. If you see several threads dealing with a particular band, don't start a new thread with a similar topic. For example. If you see an Alter Bridge thread talking about their new CD, don't start a new thread about a song on the CD, post in that thread.
Read em.

At least you aren't a complete douchebag. Like honestly, why do you have to be like that? Are you angry? Seriously, why would you be so mean to some random guy over the internet for liking a band more than you do?

Sue Johanson 07-01-2005 12:38 AM

Maybe 40 years at the most? I'd hesitate to call them timeless. Come back in another forty years.

A_Tossed_Dwarf 07-01-2005 12:40 AM

Because drugs are timeless.

White_heat 07-01-2005 12:44 AM

I hate it when people put Pink Floyd down as just a druggie band when they barley used drugs.

Syd Barret.

Sorry. /end thread.

MAthiAS 07-01-2005 12:47 AM

I don't.

White_heat 07-01-2005 12:48 AM

Good point, but that was just a small phase that was totally diffrent from the rest of their career.

PepsiMetal 07-01-2005 01:10 AM

They're pretty boring aside few songs like good bye blue sky, another brick in the wall, etc.

But **** Led-Zeppelin, you're a friggin time bomb. Go cool off.

clown_phobia 07-01-2005 02:18 AM

Dark side of the moon
The wall
wish you were here

^^that's why.

TojesDolan 07-01-2005 02:19 AM

They didn't make music for the present. they made music for the future, That's why.

tuck down torso 07-01-2005 02:32 AM

Because they don't wear watches. :D

-=Led_Hed=- 07-01-2005 02:38 AM

They had nothing better to do with their lives, so they decided to make wicked music, same with Zeppelin, Beatles, Clapton, they're all timeless becauses they gave their souls to music and knew what people wanted to hear...

Just merged a thread into this one, at Riva's request. The thread merged was this post;

Hope it doesn't cause too much confusion.

I think it is the fact that they could bring together a diverse range of musical tastes and abilities, and craft something unique and meaningful, but ambiguous enough for generations to explore and decipher their message.
