ohoh maybe the reason we havn't heard anything about the whole maynard inncident since is because he's running for pope, so i say yeah maynard for pope, maybe he can fix the world and make people think, he has my vote but im not a cardinal so he doesn't really but if i was he would have
thats funny because he played satan in the Bikini Bandits experience
Just found a very interesting interview between Maynard and a philosopher. Its back from 2001 so its a bit old and i'm not sure if anyone has read it before but if not, here it is:

http://www.cdicarlo.com/paper_04maynard.htm

I believe it was posted at the Tool Army site and well, I just got around to reading it. Anyway, it's a great interview where they discuss philosophy, Hitler, Religion, the media, Fibonacci sequence, etc, etc. They also talk quite a bit about many of Tool's songs and the meaning behind them like Stinkfist. Enjoy.
Very good interview, but I don't like how they portrayed Maynard as "not well read" and "not very literate"

Darkness 04-06-2005 06:32 PM

Yeah thats weird...

well he said it, thats how he wanted to e protrayed (sp?)

Huber 04-06-2005 06:53 PM

That was a good read. It was nice to see someone intelligent interview Maynard instead of some TV bum.

One Groovin Clown 04-06-2005 07:24 PM

I had to write a speech for my class. So for the last week i've been writing it on the greates thing ever, Tool. I kept the information relatively simple, seeing how i don't think that people are ready for a mother load of info. about them, plus it has to be between 3-5 minutes long. I went through each member saying a bit about their past. Then i went into each of the albums, i am pretty proud of my work and i thoguht i'd just like to say that, so ya.

Darkness 04-06-2005 07:35 PM

^ you should post it sometime for us to see. :)

Dried Muffin Remnants 04-06-2005 07:38 PM

I remember I wrote a spanish composition on Alice in Chains and Tool. It's always nice to write about something that you love and something of which you know a lot about.

Drum_and_Bass_Guy89 04-06-2005 08:03 PM

Yeh, I wanna noe where I could find Salival I heard its extremely rare

misunderstood 04-06-2005 08:08 PM

Sleeper 04-06-2005 08:11 PM

I found Salival in a used book store, got it cheap too.

misunderstood 04-06-2005 08:19 PM

ahh, lucky you. I always look for it where ever I go hoping that I'll be lucky enough to find it but nooo. :upset:

Kage 04-06-2005 08:24 PM

Well, that's about as lucky as it gets.

It's not even released by Tool, it's mostly a bunch of made up BS. They don't even pronounce the album names properly.

Enima? Onima? Annima?

Huber 04-06-2005 08:33 PM

I pronounce it Eh-nih-mah

TrainTakeMeHome 04-06-2005 08:34 PM

It's properly pronounced Onima. Or that's how the band pronounces it from what I've heard.

denboy 04-06-2005 08:34 PM

I pronounce it... ænima... .. *is danish*

Dried Muffin Remnants 04-06-2005 08:39 PM

The album is supposed to be Anima which is pronounced Onima, you're right. But everybody including Danny Carey pronounces the name "Enema" which is only supposed to be how the song-title is pronounced.

Kage 04-06-2005 08:43 PM

Onima as in Oh-neema or uh-neema? I pronounce it the latter, and have had reliable sources tell me it's that as well.

Huber 04-06-2005 08:44 PM

Yeah, uh-ni-mah sounds better. That's what I was going for.

extreme_191 04-06-2005 08:45 PM

That interview was excellant. Maynard's brilliant. When they compared the concept of Stinkfist to Sept.11th, I was overwhelmed. That interview made me think about my role in life and as a musician. I'm going to tae a completely different approach to writing.

Has anyone come across someone that didn't believe the scream in the Grudge was even real? I know of three friends, one being my brother, that denied the idea completely.

Also, can Maynard sream even longer in concert? My friend said so, and I declined the idea right when I heard it. To me Maynard has always been the strongest singer to me, but the actual recording seems like quite the feat.

Anarchy_In_Mexico 04-06-2005 08:45 PM

i found salival at Amoeba in Los Angeles,CA for $18, but it didn't have the dvd :(

Dried Muffin Remnants 04-06-2005 08:49 PM

No Quarter was the best part of Salival, IMO. Yes, I liked it even more than Third Eye live.

yeah my brother alsow thinks its fake, they say that the camera points at maynard at the oklahoma concert, so you could have your proof there, and if you manage to get it you could always pass it on :D

Kage 04-06-2005 09:00 PM
No Quarter was the best part of Salival, IMO. Yes, I liked it even more than Third Eye live.
haha, I like how you warded us off before we could even say anything. :p (the Third Eye lovers, I mean)

Dried Muffin Remnants 04-06-2005 09:02 PM

I've always thought of Chris Cornell as the strongest singer and Maynard's as the most melodic, but if that's true about the scream then ****... pretty impressive.

Aw-nee-muh

Or so Maynard says in various interviews.
