OK then heh :p

NP Falkenbach - Skirnir
Well, you're getting Dragon's Revenge twice over. Sorry. :p

I absolutely love the heavy vibe on Heavenseeker. The album really matured. Not that Legends From Now And Nevermore isn't very close to my heart.
To be honest, I haven't had enough time to give Legends... a good listen yet. I probably should get to that tonight. I'm still totally in love with Heavenseeker, though - great album.

MetalOz 04-20-2006 06:57 PM

Legends is great and I just ordered Heavenseeker. It appears that no one has reviewed either album... What should I expect?

Riva 04-20-2006 07:00 PM

I'm reviewing both albums now, but I've been busy with Uni.

Heavenseeker is much heavier. It's quite good, since Galloglass have maintained their melodic folk core, but have added far more depth to the music. Though a number of songs on Legends... are my favourite, Heavenseeker is what I consider to be the best album, overall.

Deth 04-20-2006 07:07 PM

Could you send those songs my way? eddiesminion@gmail.com

Thanks if you can.

Here, it's just a sampler.

Shattered_Future 04-20-2006 07:35 PM

Is Heavenseeker the one that Tower sells in the ridiculous special edition pack, with live DVD and other stuff?

I should get that if it is...if not, I should still get that album.

Riva 04-20-2006 08:16 PM

It is indeed. The sticker and poster now adorn my CD wallet and door respectively, and the live DVD is watched of an occasion.

MetalOz 04-20-2006 09:15 PM

WOw, I didn't realize how good Dream Evil was. I first heard The Book of Heavy Metal and it is so incredibly cheesey but I just listened to Evilized and it kicks serious ***! There is the cheese moment:

"I am so fuckin metal and so is my wife
I am his wife... Shut up!"

But it's not full of corny songs like TBoHM. Are their other albums more like Evilized or more like The Book of Heavy Metal?

Riva 04-20-2006 11:24 PM

They have three to my knowledge.

Evilized, their second release, is sort of the least cheesy. Dragonslayer is down and out heavy cheesiness, whereas The Book Of Heavy Metal is fun cheesiness. It's which type you like the best. Have you heard all of The Book Of Heavy Metal? A lot of it is in a similar vein to Evilized.

Also, Dragonslayer has HMJ on it, which is their most kickarse song.

HAIL TRUE METAL 04-20-2006 11:30 PM

is nevermoe considered power metal? jeff loomis said that he heard that power metal was the genre they were being listed under when he says theyre not. do you think they are power metal

Josh 04-21-2006 03:27 AM

i love Evilized. Made of Metal is so great :) the lyrics MetalOz put in are the best bit :p

a lot of bands say they play one kind of music, even though they can be classified under other genres. for example, HammerFall say they only play Heavy Metal, even though i would definitely classify them as Power Metal.

Stoic 04-21-2006 06:16 AM

hmm...Will someone send me some Dream Evil songs I may like? AcquiredDisguise@yahoo.gr

Stormrider 04-21-2006 06:29 AM

On Metal-Archives it says Nevermore are Power/Thrash...

Stoic 04-21-2006 06:32 AM

They do have certain elements of a more unconventional power and of thrash but I find this label inaccurate. I prefer to call them heavy/prog.

Stormrider 04-21-2006 06:38 AM

Meh, I think the power and thrash should be added as well as the heavy prog...

Thtas just me though...I<m not exacly the best with genres...

Vortigon 04-21-2006 10:20 AM

Man, I need to get One Step Beyond. Roll on payday.

Tower? I think they stock it...

I bought Mandrake, and downloaded Rocket Ride, and the difference in quality between the two is immense. Mandrake kicks the other to the curb...

Stormrider 04-21-2006 03:23 PM

I'm really tempted to buy Mandrake...as well as Theatre of Slavation. Although Hellfire Club is the first I'm getting.

Also saw the DVD too at the store I go to.

Josh 04-21-2006 03:26 PM

i really like Rocket Ride, so catchy...meh, personal preference i guess. i can't say anything about Mandrake though, unless that has Vain Glory Opera on it, because that song was great live...
but Hellfire Club > Rocket Ride.

Stormrider 04-21-2006 03:28 PM

No, Vain Glory Opera is on the album Vain Glory Opera :p

I listened to a part of my Stratovarius CD earlier; Elements part 1. Bettere then I remembered it to be, I'll listen to th res of it later on probably.

NP Einherjer - Dragons of the North

Josh 04-21-2006 03:29 PM

Stratovarius are good, but i find they get annoying if i hear too much of them.

ACircuitShock 04-21-2006 03:30 PM

All I have is Rocket Ride, it's pretty good. My friend has Hellfire Club and from what I've heard i like it alot more.

Lord Abortion 04-21-2006 03:30 PM

I like Rocket Ride alot, but I agree with Josh that HC is better.

Stormrider 04-21-2006 03:33 PM
Stratovarius are good, but i find they get annoying if i hear too much of them.
Yeah, I can't listen to the album too much.

I really want Vaikn Glory Opera Also...havn't seen it in a store yet though.

ACircuitShock 04-21-2006 03:33 PM
Stratovarius are good, but i find they get annoying if i hear too much of them.
Agreed, i can take small doses, but not too much. BTW you guys ever heard of Battlelore? i've been meaning to check them out for a while.

Nepenthe 04-21-2006 03:35 PM
Agreed, i can take small doses, but not too much. BTW you guys ever heard of Battlelore? i've been meaning to check them out for a while.
Yes, very good band. I've heard a few select songs from their two older releases. Pretty epic stuff.

ACircuitShock 04-21-2006 03:39 PM

Neato, I'll have to get some... I'm loving the Tolkien influences they've got.
