Hey everyone,
really sorry if this thread is in the wrong place!!! We are a post-hardcore band called Asking Alexandria. We are currently looking for a new drummer and were wondering if you might be interested :). We are just about to sign an international deal with Major Australian Label Albert Productions (AC/DC, Breed 77, The 69eyes etc...). We have been asked to play next years Vans Warped tour in the states, and next years Dubai Desert Rock Festival. We have also been asked to tour with bands such as Bless the Fall, As i Lay Dying, Jimmy Eat World, Boy Sets Fire, 36 Crazyfists and many more.. We have a killer new vocalist moving over from Louisiana in the US who actually sang with Dance Gavin Dance. This is a proffesional band man, so it would mean touring alot all over the place, recording etc... You can check us out at www.myspace.com/askingalexandria however these are tracks off our debut album, the newer material invlolves more breakdowns etc and is more similar to bands such as Emarosa,Bless the Fall,The Devil Wears Prada, Burden of a Day, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Catherine etc... just send us a message on our page if you are interested :) cheers everyone, take it easy, AA Again, really sorry if this is in the wrong place, I'm new to this forum and this was the first thread I saw that bared some relevance and is most likely to have interested persons in it :) |

Crime In Stereo - end of April
Coliseum - May Have Heart - June I think this is the longest I've ever gone without going to a show. |
Reiner did you have to get instructor letters of recommendation when you applied for that program? I do and I'm feeling kinda awkward about it because I don't think any of my professors have any idea who I am.
|
Yeah I did. Just e-mail literally every professor You've ever had. One of mine was nice enough even though he didn't remember me, another was currently my prof and barely knew me. Also you usually can get your dean to write one. It seems like it would suck having to do it, but just send out e-mails explaining you were in their class and that in order to go abroad you need their recommendation. Most of them get e-mails like that all the time and do it without really knowing who you are. Its just a small formality that shows you are willing to put the effort it more than anything else.
Cursed, The Endless Blockade, Black Ships, Fathers Day, Vatican Chainsaw Massacre
They're playing the local punk house, so there'll be something like a 75 person limit too. I'm pretty pumped assuming I get in.
Should be fun. Can't say for sure though, I've still yet to see Cursed. |
I've only seen Cursed once but Chris broke the mic and then came up to me and started screaming in my ear, then started running around the room and doing it to other people. Also, I heard when they played Che he ran outside (its basically a room with a sliding glass door) and sang from out there.

i have been known to get wild at shows
|
yeah i imagine mystery science theater shows are pretty violent
|
oh i love that show

The singer of Die Young just posted this bulletin on MySpace, further proving that they are one the hardest working bands in hardcore today. They tour nonstop and tend to put themselves in ridiculous situations (having already played 6 azn countries, the entire continental US on several occasions, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, COLOMBIA, Mexico, and many more.) They're currently on their first of two European tours for this year.
So Die Young got detained at the Romanian border last night for 7 hours before we went back to Hungary, and we weren't able to play our show in Bucharest, Romania today. Basically, there is a NATO summit happening in Bucharest this coming week and the border officials suspected us of coming to play music to incite riots/protests. I can't say that wouldn't be awesome to incite a riot against the likes of Bush or Putin haha, but to be honest we had no clue about the summit, especially when we booked the show in Bucharest months ago. So the only way to complete our tour now is for us to take an alternate route through Serbia to get to our show in Sofia, Bulgaria tomorrow. As some of you (not enough of you, I anticipate) may know, the anti-American sentiment in Serbia is probably as high as it could ever be due to the US and UN support of Kosovo's declared indpendence a month ago. In fact, the US embassy in Belgrade (Serbia's capital) was torched by angry Serbs retaliating against US support of Kosovo. Guess what town we are driving straight through? Yep, you guessed it--Belgrade! It's likely that nothing will happen beyond us having to bribe some corrupt cops to let us pass through, but I admit that this situation is a little intimidating to say the least. I hope to write again soon with good show reports from Bulgaria and Greece Wish us luck. Love, Daniel
|
Wow, thats fucked up. Dudes rule though.

Die Young are so good. That band works their asses off and still most kids DGAF about them. I don't know if their bassist is still the guy with the beard from Birmingham but he's one of the nicest guys I've ever met.
|
what are some good hardcore blogs?
die young are ****in sick. |
How did they tour six Asian countries? People like hardcore in Japan, but I don't think that Chinese and Indians have existent hardcore scene and its probably impossible to do a DIY tour through the Islands.
