I voted Bruce because he had a shot to get through and needed the votes. He was my favorite singer on there too, so that helps. I'd take Bruce, Buckley, and Neil above Morrison, though I like Morrison a lot too. I haven't heard enough Jethro Tull to put Ian Anderson up there with those guys but I like Anderson's singing on Stand Up a lot.
I like Anderson's singing, probably more than that of Young, but Neil's music is overall more appealing to me. Jim Morrison is, in my opinion, one of the best singers ever judging purely by the tone of his voice, which appeals to me most of all. He was very versatile.

So I have pneumonia. This suck's.

I just got done watching the live at whatever hall Cream Reunion and I wasn't that impressed, maybe because I've never really liked Cream but I was impressed with Jack Bruce's bass skills he is really fun to watch, and he got's the coolest bass.

Glitterati 12-10-2005 07:02 PM

I did my Christmas shopping today. I was about to pay for everything when I saw The Smiths S/T for $6.99, and I had to buy it. I have no self control.

In other news, The Traveling Wilburies are awesome.

Heh, this made me chuckle. How is it so far? I know nothing of the Smiths actual musical sound.

JonG 12-10-2005 07:10 PM
That's actually the Melodians. But of course is on Jimmy Cliff's The Harder they Come.
Yep, I'm not good with the artists on that album :x

It's good, as are The Smiths.

How would you describe it though? Any comparisons, genres?
How would you describe it though? Any comparisons, genres?
Hmmm...if you like most '80s alternative rock, you'd like The Smiths.

TheDMV 12-10-2005 07:39 PM
My granddad died from pneumonia :(

The Smiths sound like a mixture of 70s post-punk and 60s pop crossed with a primitive Jeff Buckley. I'd recommend them to anyone, even though most CR folk seem to hate them.
Well, at this point I think it's fair to say that I really enjoy all forms of 'popular' music. I can't quite claim that I listen to everything, though I'm certainly willing to give it a shot (in most cases)

JonG 12-10-2005 08:36 PM

If you could send that album out I'll try it. I just listened to Talking Heads "Remain In Light", and didn't like it :x

I'm bored.

I have decided that Bob Dylan is the secksiest man to ever live.

I like "Frankly, Mr. Shankly", that's it. But even that song sometimes pisses me off.
I have decided that Bob Dylan is the secksiest man to ever live.
tru dat

Anyway, while watching Shakira on Saturday Night Live, I notice that she is doing so much stuff Robert Plant would do, like body motions, etc. Discuss.

Broken Arrow 12-10-2005 11:10 PM

I tried to listen to The Queen is Dead, just didn't do it for me.

I listened to PATGOD today though.

Jacaranda 12-10-2005 11:10 PM
My granddad died from pneumonia :(
Well... that's not promising then. :Upset: I hope I don't die, that would kinda be incoveniant.

Talking Heads: Meh, good but nothing I freak out about.
Smiths: Good, something I freak out about. But they could take a few listen's to accept.
I listened to PATGOD today though.
Hey none of that talk, Schyma ain't here.
What did you think of it?
Ugh, I hope I make Schyma come back with this statement.

PATGOD is boring, and I hate it. I will never get into it.

Broken Arrow 12-10-2005 11:14 PM

Oh this isn't the first time I've heard it. I've had it over a year now.

Great album though. I had a good listen today. I think it has some awesome playing by Rick Wright.

Broken Arrow 12-10-2005 11:17 PM

Other people must like it, besides Schmya.
