On CBC a few years ago, there was a made-for-tv movie about John and Paul getting back together and starting to write songs, just before John died. It was before I was into The Beatles, so I wish they'd replay it.
Two of Us?

Glitterati 12-10-2005 10:39 AM
Two of Us?
Quite possibly.

/me looks it up

Yep, that's the one.

Badmoon 12-10-2005 10:40 AM

I saw my dad watching that on VH1 like 5 years ago, and somehow remembered the name and the plot.

temporary 12-10-2005 11:24 AM

I had off yesterday, 'cause of the snow. I'm so happy. I also watched some of the Springsteen on PBS, good stuff.

robo2448 12-10-2005 11:29 AM
That Roy Orbison concert was on earlier today. Geez, everyone was there! Roy, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, Jackson Browne....

np: Joe Walsh - Rocky Mountain Way
Yeah I have the cd of it. It was out of print for a really long time and I've never seen it in stores but my parents bought it back when it first came out. I'll upload it as a Christmas present for you guys (probably this afternoon or tomorrow). It's good. I wish I watched PBS at the right times. Whenever I turn it on, it's like children's cartoons or nature specials. Or people begging for money.

np- The Byrds- Eight Miles High

PinkFreud 12-10-2005 11:33 AM

Does mx really need another Doctor?
I was/am actually considering perhaps changing my name to Doctor/Dr. Sardonicus. I'm going to wait until I get the album after Christmas, though. I have heard wonderful things about it, and it would be nice to have a CR-related name.

JonG 12-10-2005 01:08 PM

Yep, we have :)

I've seen Grand Funk :)

I have Roger The Engineer by The Yardbirds.

Yes. We do need another Doctor. Doctor Robert is the lurve doctor.
I'm the one that will kidnapp you and take your bodyparts to build a disgusting organism.

Jom's thread on the Barenaked Ladies, plus me seeing them in a week has urged me to put on some good ol' Barenaked Ladies.

np: Brian Wilson (live) <<<<< Amazing song.

PinkFreud 12-10-2005 01:57 PM

great basswork in that song. ive since moved on to the allman brothers though.

np: the allman brothes - blue sky

magicbus 12-10-2005 02:02 PM

I uploaded Merry Axemas a while ago, but if you guys don't have it, I can probably do it again.

Or something else.

JonG 12-10-2005 02:06 PM

I hate Christmas albums :X

Illmatic 12-10-2005 04:00 PM

can someone Christmas-up my avatar?

Nothing major, but a Santa hat on Marvin wouldn't hurt.

JonG 12-10-2005 04:02 PM

That hat he has on in that pic is sweet by itself :)

/not following trend

/won't* X-Mas his avatar

*can't

MBS 12-10-2005 04:06 PM

Come on, it's not IMPOSSIBLE to X-Mas an avatar. Take a look at mine, it's a frigging BADGE, but I still found a way. :)

It's not hard to find a way to do it, but paint holds strict limitaions on what can and can't be done.

JonG 12-10-2005 04:08 PM

I might change avatars soon..

:)

What was everybody's first avatar? Mine was Dave Mason..

Mine was a little greenish smilie face with headphones that had multicolored notation splurging forth from it.

When you don't have Photoshop or Paint, then it is impossible to x-mas an avatar.

JonG 12-10-2005 04:16 PM

You have a Mac?

I'm confused..

np: Jimmy Cliff - Rivers of Babylon

...Just wondering why Jim Morrison is winning the vocalist poll...

robo2448 12-10-2005 05:07 PM

My first avatar was the standard Beatles one on MX. The first one I picked out was a picture of The Who from the Simpsons

I like Morrison's voice a lot, but he shouldn't be close to Jeff Buckley. And I like Bruce better too, which is why I voted for Jack.

Illmatic 12-10-2005 05:09 PM
You have a Mac?
No, I just haven't installed Photoshop yet.

I'm wondering why Morrison is winning too...his voice really isn't all that good.

Glad you enjoyed.

Broken Arrow 12-10-2005 05:21 PM

I voted for Neil but turns out he wont be getting through.

TheDMV 12-10-2005 05:30 PM
I voted for Neil but turns out he wont be getting through.
Same, I waited for really long ot see if I could help anyone out who needed it, but in the end I just went with my favorite.

robo2448 12-10-2005 06:05 PM

I voted Bruce because he had a shot to get through and needed the votes. He was my favorite singer on there too, so that helps. I'd take Bruce, Buckley, and Neil above Morrison, though I like Morrison a lot too. I haven't heard enough Jethro Tull to put Ian Anderson up there with those guys but I like Anderson's singing on Stand Up a lot. I don't know how Aqualung has escaped me for so long.
/adds Aqualung to Christmas list

That's actually the Melodians. But of course is on Jimmy Cliff's The Harder they Come.
