Yea and I really don't know which one I want haha. I really don't know the difference between the two woods I think I'm going to go to the local music store and play each type of wood and see which one I like more.
I like the finishes on the Pro M better too.
http://home.earthlink.net/~prof.sound/id14.html Bear in mind tuning also plays a role in how the drum sounds so knowing what differences to look for in the woods before hand is very beneficial. |
My band needs new cymbals, all of ours are chipped :(
And it's weird that we don't, considering that our drummer has a job and doesn't spend his money on much. |
You guys play with chipped cymbals?
ew :-\ |
You guys play with chipped cymbals?
ew :-\
The fact that you couldn't tell means it's no big deal. Both crashes are chipped, the ride and hi-hat are fine. We break a lot of sticks, too. My drummer bought these 20$ sticks that were supposed to be "unbreakable". He broke it in twenty minutes. |
That's pretty intense, maybe he should settle down a little bit haha. Does he hit really hard?
|

Well, you are a guitar fag.

So for a video project we had to do the architecture of our school. It's a pretty lame video, but we have 2 and a half minutes of footage, and now to make it interesting we are putting in music. I want a Westbound Departure song to be playing, I just have to convince my partner it is better then their music, which it is.
|
What is their music?
|
Lmao..This is late but Stick Breaking is for Terrible Drumming Noobs.
I can honestly say I have NEVER broke a stick, and I play loud. Matt: I'd go with the Eminem or whatever gay **** is on there, then secretly edit it so it's got good music. Then they'll be like..Wtf man, u r so gey, go dye fo0l, i h8 u" <_< |
What is their music?
Westbound Departure is Andy's old band... |
Westbound Departure is Andy's old band...
No, what is "their music" That's how you phrased it. Stew: Hit harder. |
No, what is "their music"
That's how you phrased it. Stew: Hit harder.
Ohh. Well it's my best friend and she listed a couple of songs that she wants to put on, and one song was by green day, another was white & nerdy. I forget what the other two were. I got to choose 4 and mine were. A Fragile Corellation - Westbound Departure, Dear Sergio - Catch 22, Sink, Florida, Sink - Against Me!, and Goodbye to Boston - Smoke of Fire. |
No, what is "their music"
That's how you phrased it. Stew: Hit harder.
I play pretty fuckin' hard man. Or at least when I'm playing hard stuff. Related but not related..I've developed a system for rating drum solos. Love: It's passionate. It's really being done good, and with meaning, you know the guy seriously loves his drums. Sex: Fast, Hard and just fuckin' sweet. Rape: This is neither good for those watching, or those being raped (The drums) the only person who gets anything out of this, is the drummer. It's just terrible and gross, and it's illegal, so fuck off and stop doing it. And yeah, that's my system lol. |
refl omg white and nerdy is so funny to me =\
i'd choose that becuse it's so funny to me but mehr aha Stew: I don't understand how you can never break sticks. Do you never rimshot, use hats or crash? |
refl omg white and nerdy is so funny to me =\
i'd choose that becuse it's so funny to me but mehr aha
It's a funny song, but it's a lot better with the video, and our teacher would probably be lost. |
The video is very funny. So i got sent home for dacking someone. My best friend got sent home for breaking someones nose.
|

I've broken one I guess..But that was trying to break it, and I couldn't do it after like an hour of playing with an already worn out stick..so I cut it half way through. |
We actually broke a stick in half a week or two ago. It wasn't particularly old, too.
We could make a bonfire with all the broken sticks and **** that are lying around my basement, though. What is the most common mistake that causes broken sticks? Playing open? |
I have never broken a stick, guitar or bass string. I have broken the head on my snare drum though... 'cept that was about 30 years old so I guess that's not much of a stretch.
In other news yay it snowed! I love snow! Imagine this: http://www.washington.edu/students/ugrad/scholar/students/images/quad.jpg covered in snow with like a billion students having a HUGE snowball fight. It was awesome! |
