Hearing people say "who dat" must be so traumatizing.

Oh the woes of humanity........

gmoneyguy 02-07-2010 11:39 PM
Well they haven't been constantly repeating it.

I'm sure if I were being subjected to a constant deluge of "Who dey?" that I'd be complaining too.
Funnily enough I'm deep in Saints country and it doesn't bother me.
Write something like who dat into a formal legal brief or any other official writing and let me know how it goes. There are conventions.

Also stop with the straw men regarding hatred for people and culture.
write something like "color" or "offense" in a newspaper in great britain and let me know how it goes

Angmar 02-07-2010 11:42 PM

clearly a sport chant should have the utmost in formality that a legal statement does

Nepenthe 02-07-2010 11:42 PM
I fail to see how saying that a certain phrase sounds retarded/idiotic is justification for saying I feel that way about anything else besides the phrase.

I think youse guys sounds ridiculous as well I guess that means I hate Italians.
hey paul since you would probably say "children" instead of "kids" in a formal legal document, does that make "kids" incorrect english

Nepenthe 02-07-2010 11:47 PM
I hate Italians.
wearing-metal-shirts-to-church racist

Against Miik! 02-07-2010 11:49 PM

Ok so quick rundown, basically Paul says that Who Dat is stupid phrase because it is grammatically incorrect. Well its a sports chant so I don't think anyone should care. Talking like that in real life though? Yeah you should learn how to talk.

So yeah then everyone gets on his case and is like yeah bro its just AA vernacular so they are totally allowed to speak like that.

Well ok thats fine people can talk however they want but I just want you all to take note of the fact that the only successful people who speak in african american vernacular are rappers and athletes.

Angmar 02-07-2010 11:50 PM
Different. Kids is a perfectly acceptable word that's considered less formal than children. Who dat completely mangles a phrase and ignores American convention on use of either a verb or contraction in addition to grossly misspelling that.
jesus christ paul

Deth 02-07-2010 11:50 PM

paul don't you support a college team who go by the Dawgs?
