Keep listening to the album, maybe it will grow on you more and more.
Hansi is amazing. :p btw, you won't find another album that sounds REALLY simliar to the one you have now. As from album to album, it changes heh. |
What's the heaviest most aggressive BG album?
|
The earlier stuff is Speed Metal if you're intersted in that.
But heaviest most agressive...probably Imaginations. Though, that one and Nightfall in Middle Earth are my favorites. |
I'll get Nightfall later tonight then.
|
My favourites are Somewhere far beyond and Imaginations from the other side.
I haven't listened to BG in months to be honest. /ashamed. |
Good, Txus. :)
Didn't you like listen to your BG Live albums a few weeks ago, Ollie ? I've been listening to plenty of BG lately. They're really close up there with IE, which I havn't been listening to much lately. |
My favourites are Somewhere far beyond and Imaginations from the other side.
What's the heaviest most aggressive BG album?
Battalions Of Fear |
I disagree. Imaginations is more agressive then Battlions of Fear IMO.
|
Batallions has craptacular production.
ANATO for the win. |
Who cares, Battalions of Fear still owns.
|
For a moment I thought this was the BG thread :p
Well I've heard quite a few who dislike Hansi's vocals and say he ruins the band. |
Well, I'm listening to SFB again.
NP-TWIT...hehe |
For a moment I thought this was the BG thread :p
Well I've heard quite a few who dislike Hansi's vocals and say he ruins the band.
Here too ? :p Yeah, I had met a guy who couldn't get into Blind Guardian because of Hansi :-/ ...Ah well. |
So I got a promo of the new Dream Evil, it's solid but nothing earth-shattering. The last song is a cover of the Eurovision 2005 Song Contest winning entry "My Number One", it's actually a pretty cool metalized version :thumb:
|
How does it compare to their other releases?
|
Yeah, I had met a guy who couldn't get into Blind Guardian because of Hansi :-/ ...Ah well.
I don't like Blind Guardian I don't think it's because of Hansi though because I like some of Demons and Wizards' stuff. |
Have any of you guys heard Avenged Sevenfolds Wicked End or Strength of the World or even M.I.A. they are some good power metal tunes and I know its Avenged Sevenfold but who cares?
|

MIA is a very good song and I think it's Sidewinder? that has the flamenco thing at the end that is totally amazing. |
I don't like Blind Guardian

I have "A Night at the Opera", "Nightfall in Middle Earth" and like half of Imaginations
Haven't listened to them in quite awhile so I think I'll give it another swing tonight. |
:)
Imaginations is so damn amazing. As is Nightfall in Middle-earth. NP Another Atranger Me |
MIA is a very good song and I think it's Sidewinder? that has the flamenco thing at the end that is totally amazing.
Yes its Sidewinder, you should also check out The Wicked End and Strength of the World and maybe even Beast and the Harlot, the whole CoE album is full with power metal solos. |
I have it. It was one of my favorite albums for awhile.
One of the best albums guitar-wise I've heard. |
Could you recommend any similar Power Metal stuff I might like thats Epic?
|
I don't really know any similar to Avenged Sevenfold.
Power metal doesn't come to mind with them. My favorites though Galloglass Falconer Heavenly Brainstorm Pyramaze |
JAG PANzZEr!!
|
Ample Destruction rules.
|
I just recently got into them. Mechanized Warfare is my favorite so far.
|
I just recently got into them. Mechanized Warfare is my favorite so far.
Bought Mechanized Warfare a while ago, but was never able to give it one whole spin before letting a friend borrow it. Thane To The Throne is also a kickass album, nice way of making a metalized MacBeth. The Tracks i've heard of Ample Destruction completly rule too. "I'm living my life causing, Warfare!" |
I don't really like Ample Destruction, but I'm a HUGE Conklin fan. My favorite is Thane to the Throne, with Mechanized Warfare in second.
|
Thane to the Throne is good. First one I got by them.
|
AMPLE DSTRUCTION 666 AEssome ALBUM.!!
LISCENTSE TO KILLL!!!!!! |

i dont really like avenged seven fold, the guitar tone annoys me, and the snare drum makes me feel sad :( |
How does it compare to their other releases?
It's comparable. They seem a bit generic at times but I really like power metal without so much keyboards, so they win in that dept. I just sent it out with the daily upload :) |

Damn. BOHM is so damn good... |
They ruined their rhythm when they lost Snowy. He was one of the main songwriters, you see.
|
I'm well aware. I thought he might have switched duties or something.
Man, it almost sounds like it could be used as US propaganda. I mean, cmon...the album's called United. And it's got songs like Kingdom At War. |
They ruined their rhythm when they lost Snowy. He was one of the main songwriters, you see.
I thought Fredrik Nordström wrote everything... |
Snowy wrote a lot of material: some good, some bad. When he left he took all of his songs with him.
