That album is pretty damn good but I reckon 89's Road To The Riches is a deadset classic imo.
Swollen Members live would be sweet.
They were. I was never a huge Swollen fan, but I was down to see them for $20, along with some pretty solid opening acts, especially Kuruption Kamp (also from Battle Axe).

Despite not being a huge Swollen fan, this was one of the sickest shows I've been to, for these reasons: I was front-center the whole time, got a hug in the middle of the set on stage from Mad Child, Prevail started a joint, and it worked its way right into my hand, and then my lungs, and at the end of the set (after the encore) Mad Child cracked open two beers and gave me one to chug.

They put on a good live show I give them that. My respect for Swollen went up exponentially from last night's experience. Awesome show!

pixiesfanyo 03-29-2009 05:45 PM

we should really try and get a hip-hop forum made.

Funny you mention that....I was just searching around for a good hip-hop forum, couldn't find anything too great.

(*The Noonward Race*) 03-29-2009 06:06 PM

There are good ones, but yes we need one. This is here dumb, it's like a white boy music forum.

CaptainWaits 03-29-2009 06:18 PM

could you link me to one of these good ones?

Led_Zep_Bonham 03-29-2009 08:03 PM

Anybody scope the new Zion I album yet?

kingsoby1 03-29-2009 08:15 PM

ya it's not very impressive. average to slightly above.

Led_Zep_Bonham 03-29-2009 08:29 PM

Fer sure on that. No changing pure west coast roots in my brainwaves, anyway.

kingsoby1 03-29-2009 08:56 PM

i just cant get into west coast stuff that much... i like blu/exile, blackalicious, some dre, not much else i guess.

Jaundice 03-29-2009 09:04 PM

Yeah West Coast kinda sucks except for early N.W.A., and Tupac is decent.

East Coast is murda though

niobium 03-29-2009 10:13 PM

both coasts are fly 2 me

Jaundice 03-29-2009 10:52 PM

West Coast was hot back in the day but it's been sleeping since Tupac died.

Supposedly the Game brought it back but I try not to listen to him.

definitely

kingsoby1 03-30-2009 09:50 AM

Ok, so Finale's Pipe Dream and a Promise might be a contender for album of the year...

niobium 03-30-2009 11:52 AM
West Coast was hot back in the day but it's been sleeping since Tupac died.
according to you or spin magazine?

kingsoby1 03-30-2009 11:53 AM

The Documentary was really good.

Tyler 03-30-2009 08:10 PM

I like all three of Game's albums. None of them are really much above average but he'll end up having one hell of a greatest hits album down the road.

gloop 03-30-2009 08:12 PM

the game's next album will feature product placement via constant namedropping

CaptainWaits 03-30-2009 08:35 PM

Agree with that. I haven't bought anything of the Game's yet, but I would probably buy a Greatest Hits and leave it at that

sgrevs 03-30-2009 10:01 PM

It's true that he likes his namedropping.

ATM 03-31-2009 08:00 AM
