Seriously, who types like that?
Its happened before.

clairvoyant 09-23-2005 05:12 PM

Megadeth dominates As I Lay Dying. As I Lay Dying is just another generic _____core band. Megadeth was one of the/is the greatest metal acts ever.

RustedPieces 09-23-2005 05:18 PM

I think it's cool that Megadeth has still stayed relativley close to their roots. They're one of the only bands besides maybe Slayer and Kreator that have done that.

Megadeth stayed close to their roots?

Have you listened to Youthanasia, Cryptic Writings, or Risk any lately?

But World Needs a Hero and System Has Failed were definitely more metal Megadeth albums than the 3 I mentioned.

Yes I was just thinking about TSHF. I meant at the present date.

MAthiAS 09-23-2005 05:52 PM

Kreator and Slayer have strayed as well.

Apocalyptic Raids 09-23-2005 06:10 PM

Pretty much all the thrash bands strayed from their roots. I guess Testament have stayed kinda close out of the bands that have not broke up.

BludgeonySteve 09-23-2005 06:11 PM

I couldn't only play thrash for 10-20 years. I don't blame them.

MAthiAS 09-23-2005 06:12 PM

Didn't Skolnick leave for a while though?

And Exodus' new album is badass, great stuff.

Apocalyptic Raids 09-23-2005 06:13 PM

Yeah, Exodus and Destruction have had the best reunions.

heavy metal kid 09-23-2005 06:16 PM

does anyone of you have heard the live version of My Last Words?
It's my fav. Megadeth song and i haven't heard live at all.

MAthiAS 09-23-2005 06:17 PM

They played it some on the BTU tour. I haven't heard it though, they didn't play it at my show :(

RiceMonster 09-23-2005 06:18 PM
I couldn't only play thrash for 10-20 years. I don't blame them.
Same. I don't think I could keep playing the same style of music for ten years even.

BludgeonySteve 09-23-2005 06:19 PM

Yeah, I guess that would go for every music style.

MAthiAS 09-23-2005 06:21 PM

True. Its hard to name many people that have stayed in the same style over a long period of time in one band. I guess Maiden would be pretty close.

that song is pure power, it surprise me that they didn't included it in the greatest hits or in the live albums.

MAthiAS 09-23-2005 06:22 PM

I'm not really surprised, but it is a great song.

BludgeonySteve 09-23-2005 06:22 PM

Maiden never sold out, though their style changed a little. Compare Women in Uniform to 2 Minutes to Midnite (that's a very possitive change, by the way).

Well they changed, yeah. But they've always been Maiden.
I didn't know he had enough money to buy a corporation. Sounds fake.
No, I swear he was going to by Jackson, It was in a 2000 Guitar world interview. But then Fender bought it out. I'm kind-of glad he did'nt, because ESP's are alot cooler.
