Treasure Chest is some sort of best of album, but I don't know, I can't think of any song since Kai left that I've thought were really good. They should have quit in the late 80's or early 90's.
I think the new Keeper Of The Seven Keys is very good personally. |
It's really, really different, I thought. It's almost...rocky, in a way.
|
dragonforce-sonic firestorm
primal fear-the seven seals |
Power of the Dragonflame slays the hell out of any other Rhapsody I've heard.
That is all. |
Bah, Symphony Of Enchanted Lands for me. Can't top that ultra cheesiness.
|
The ballads and voiceovers take away from that album. So yeah, basically the cheese.
|
I can't decide wether I like Dawn Of Victory or Symphony Of Enchanted Lands more.
|
Rain Of A Thousand Flames is my favourite, followed by Symphony Of Enchated Lands II, then perhaps Dawn Of Victory.
|
Is Symphony of Enchanted Lands II good? I need to get it...
and ya, it's my avatar, but it's a cool pic |
Very, very good.
|
Theres a bunch of Rhapsody albums in the local HMV I go to. Or wait, I think its liek 10 copies of the same album...
I have 2 Rhapsody songs on my computer only. I need to listen to them more as they are 2 songs that I have listene to only once each :-/ |
Helloween have some very good songs, but they went totally gay when Kai left.
Then we got Gamma Ray. :thumb: I've heard Rhapsody's Holy Thunderforce. It's okay, I guess. Nothing special IMO. |
Gamma Ray is pretty good, I think I need listen some more to say fully.
|
Gamma Ray's Somewhere Out in Space was the first power metal disc I bought. I loved Kai from that moment on. But I have to admit, I like Gamma Ray with Ralf on vocals much better. The music is far more unpredictable, versatile, and energetic. While the new Gamma Ray is very strong, the older had a much more personal feel, not so structured. For instance, you don't have any songs that feel like Money, or Changes, or Lust for Life, on any of the new albums. They just don't exist. While the new stuff is good, it's just much more basic in format. Still hasn't stopped me from buying every album :)

Or Heaven Or Hell, which sounds too much like I Want Out. And for the record, I am a Kai fanboy, so I'm not ragging on him. |
I would like to just pop in and say that Kamelot rocks. :thumsb: What do you guys think of them.
NP: Edguy-****ing with Fire (great song) |
Great band, though I'm basing that opinion on The Black Halo.
Gamma Ray are excellent; I prefer them to Helloween. |

I, on the other hand, don't like Ralf at all. I have trouble really listening to their older stuff.
I think the new Keeper Of The Seven Keys is very good personally.
To be honest I haven't heard anything from the new Keeper. |

NP: Edguy-****ing with Fire (great song)
I've only heard 'the black halo' albu, but is is well awesome, i might get another one of their albums soon orderd Edguy's 'mandrake' album and the 'king of fools' single/EP the other day:thumb: NP: DIO - hungry for heaven cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese!!! |
Kamelot are a pretty cool band. As for Gamma Ray, once again, I havn't heard any material from them...
And as for Edguy, there in my top 5 power metal bands. I can't wait to get Hellfire Club. Then, Theatre of Salvation and Mandrake probably. Awsoem band. |
Gamma Ray are pretty cool.
I went though a phase of constant playing when got Powerplant. |
Almost all metal from Germany is a winner though.
Scorpions, MSO, Galloglass, Falkenbach, Running Wild, Gamma Ray, Blind Guardian, Helloween, Kreator... see my point? NP: Galloglass - Dragons Revenge |
Too be fair that is all power emtal, name me another good german band that isnt power metal
btw you should all vote nicko in the drummer poll or i will eat your cats for dinner |
Kreator is thrash. Scorpions and MSO are classic metal. Falkenbach is folk/black.
And there are quite a few good thrash and black metal bands from the Fatherland also. |
I thought Falkenbach were viking...I'm new to the genre so whatever :p
And Riva, you seem to be a big Galloglass fan, do you mind sending me a few songs plz ? twinky_123@hotmail.com NP Thyrfing - Ways of a Parasite |
I'll send you two from the first and two from the second album, if you like.
|
I'de love that, thanks :D
I have Dragons Revenge and The Quest already...just to let you know. NP Thyrfing - Slumber of Yesteryears |
Galloglass is great. After Forever is an amazing song.
|
Well, you're getting Dragon's Revenge twice over. Sorry. :p
I absolutely love the heavy vibe on Heavenseeker. The album really matured. Not that Legends From Now And Nevermore isn't very close to my heart. |
