Nepenthe 09-07-2009 12:11 PM

i always come in here thinking about talking about ambient **** but you guys are always talking about industrial nonsense

Txus 09-07-2009 12:51 PM

lets talk ambient, anthony.

Nepenthe 09-07-2009 01:35 PM

ever heard of the dude helios? i think hes from your area. great ****. only other ambient ive listened to lately is hammock and eluvium.

Txus 09-07-2009 01:46 PM

Eluvium is great. I've been listening to Library Tapes, really good ambient.

Btw, the new Have a Nice Life B-Sides are really good, very ambient-ish.

And yeah, Helios is quite good, I only have Eingya, and it's very chill.

Right now, my favorite ambient project is definitely Deaf Center, that **** is out of this world.

Nepenthe 09-07-2009 01:49 PM

ive got unomia and eingya, eingya is definitely better. chill indeed.

have you ever listened to hammock? you should look into raising your voice trying to stop an echo. one of my favorite ambient albums.

Txus 09-07-2009 01:50 PM

Will do, I know I've heard that name tossed somewhere.

Just the name alone sounds interesting, hah.

Listen to Deaf Center, man. I think you will like them very muuuuch.

Nepenthe 09-07-2009 02:07 PM

oh shiiiit, the guy from nest is in it. hell yeah, im going to check them out.

Meatplow 09-07-2009 02:58 PM

speaking of ambient I really like Saito Koji's Beautiful, if anybody has heard it.
kvlt new avatar haz
Jaundice 09-08-2009 02:45 AM

hurry up and become an admin so you can hook me up with huuuge custom avatars

Meatplow 09-08-2009 02:46 AM

idk if I could accept the responsibility man

Jaundice 09-08-2009 02:50 AM

idk, wish seems to be handling it well so far

so i came up with this epic concept for a song, and it was supposed to be like this huge sprawling thing but anyway i got lazy and just scraped something together in a few minutes, based off of a guitar riff i wrote in 9th grade. I call it Cigarettes and CD's

Nepenthe 09-08-2009 12:42 PM

was relaxing to some solar fields last night. great stuff.

Ravenholm 09-08-2009 02:00 PM

Nepenthe 09-08-2009 02:02 PM

Txus 09-08-2009 02:06 PM
was relaxing to some solar fields last night. great stuff.
Beatiful music. I thought me and Ventriloquist were the only ones listening to him in here.

Every album is so good and different.

Have you heard Biosphere? I think you would like it, the dude made probably one of the best Ambient/minimal techno albums I've ever heard (Microgravity).

Ravenholm 09-08-2009 02:09 PM

Thought I'd share this, interesting take on mixing visuals and sounds. Been meaning to get into how to use these programs/make these effects. Anyone know how? So far I found Ultra Fractals and Resolume. I've used some of the related programs, like Apophysis.

Examples:

Music - Apparat

Music - Dandelion, Tuomas Koskinen

Nepenthe 09-08-2009 02:11 PM

biosphere? ill check it out when i scoop up that deaf center.

speaking of mixing visuals and great ambient music, i just downloaded that game osmos. looks amazing.

Ravenholm 09-08-2009 02:31 PM

just finished watching the trailer, it does look amazing. reminds me of how rain drops seem to swallow each other sometimes. also reminded me a little of this game i played a demo of on steam, called "coil." oh and there's this game i haven't played yet, but was recommended. there's also stuff about demoscene on that site

Aaron 09-10-2009 08:09 PM

666, The Mark of the Reznor

Meatplow 09-12-2009 06:36 AM

Project Pitchfork's IO is not what I expected at all, strange album. I like it though.

Stormrider 09-12-2009 12:26 PM

Which Kraftwerk album should I check out first?

Txus 09-12-2009 12:32 PM

I haven't heard them all, but the three I prefer are Autobahn, Trans-Europe Express and . Kraftwerk 2

FatalEnergy 09-13-2009 11:15 PM

Nice avatar meat.

Aaron 09-13-2009 11:48 PM

Not sure if you guys are Refused fans [you're mad not to be] but their glitchy moments are pretty awesome.

Meatplow 09-14-2009 01:20 AM
Nice avatar meat.
Meatplow 09-14-2009 02:44 AM

So, what were you expecting compared to what you got?

Meatplow 09-14-2009 07:46 AM
So, what were you expecting compared to what you got?
probably something much more trendy sounding, like Flesh Field :p

I like the synth pop aspect of it, vocals took a little getting used to

Willie 09-14-2009 08:28 AM

Aw. So you're saying I only listen to trendy industrial ;)

Meatplow 09-14-2009 08:35 AM

haha not at all, I just assumed they were a pure modern industrial-metal band for some reason (partially because of some previous recs i've gotten off you, but not entirely). I might have gotten them confused with some other group you were promoting

I like modern industrial because I'm a sucker for slick productions, but I also appreciate the older stuff. Speaking of that, did you check out those SMP and Kevorkian Death Cycle albums.

Meatplow 09-14-2009 08:52 AM

I will be shortly, so much stuff to get through.

Meatplow 09-15-2009 11:04 AM

i've forgotten how good The Flashbulb's Kirlian Selections is. I should get some more of his stuff.
Which Kraftwerk album should I check out first?
