That's gotta be freaking awesome. Lucky bastard.

I have to go into Allentown (not far by any means, but annoying because the venue sucks) all the time to catch major label bands.

Well this is a church with no stage and a mediocre PA, but it is ok. My old band used to play those shows a lot, and I couldn't stand the sound system.

i am the robots 11-23-2007 05:21 PM

No stage = awesome, mediocre PA = not so awesome.

illpressureurhinges1 11-23-2007 05:22 PM

That sucks. But hey, good music with a crappy sound system is better than no music at all.

True, I do prefer a stage though, not that I like to be above people or anything snobby, it just makes for a better show. I can see the audience better and vice versa.

i am the robots 11-23-2007 05:25 PM

I like playing shows in smaller venues. Getting a place with no stage packed with tons of kids is just so fun. Going to those shows is more fun too.

Like, I saw As Cities Burn locally at a venue with a stage when they were on tour with Underoath and Poison The Well, and then in the basement of a Church, headlining this past summer, and it was just so much better. There were probably only like 50 kids there, but it was such a personal show, everybody was so close to the band and eye to eye, and Cody was letting kids come up and scream TJ's parts in old songs.

tons of kids = awesome

illpressureurhinges1 11-23-2007 05:27 PM

And its more fun for the fans because you get to be RIGHT THERE with the band, not looking up at them.

i am the robots 11-23-2007 05:28 PM

I agree completely.

true.

illpressureurhinges1 11-23-2007 05:30 PM

I went to show to see Destroy The Runner, and they were right there with the audience, and even though it was a tiny venue with almost no people, it was still probably the most fun I've ever had at a show.

Dimmu Burger 11-23-2007 05:35 PM

Playing with a lot of kids and a bunch of them are dancing or moshing or whatever, is probably one of the coolest feelings, up there with having a kid. lol

illpressureurhinges1 11-23-2007 05:37 PM

Its fun being that kid dancing and moshing and screaming and just going crazy. Good stuff!

BrokenChains 11-26-2007 01:06 PM

My church here has the best sound system in the city...too bad they don't exactly invite Christian rock bands often.

JNizzle 11-26-2007 04:09 PM

I like Underoath as well.
BlessTheFall is really good, too!

Dimmu Burger 11-26-2007 04:10 PM
I like Underoath as well.

I enjoy Underoath, but the one BlessTheFall song that was on headbangers ball was meh.

encmetalhead 11-26-2007 04:19 PM

blessthefall sucks arse

Dimmu Burger 11-26-2007 04:23 PM
blessthefall sucks arse
I haven't heard their whole cd, but yeah I probably wont cause that song from the video was pretty generic.

gmoneyguy 11-26-2007 04:25 PM
I haven't heard their whole cd, but yeah I probably wont cause that song from the video was pretty generic.
Were you really expecting something more than generic from the Headbanger's ball?

Dimmu Burger 11-26-2007 04:31 PM
Were you really expecting something more than generic from the Headbanger's ball?
good point.

illpressureurhinges1 11-26-2007 04:47 PM

BlessTheFall is not good. I listened to their cd, and yawned through every song.

Dimmu Burger 11-26-2007 06:34 PM
BlessTheFall is not good. I listened to their cd, and yawned through every song.
Oh good, you saved me some time.

i am the robots 11-26-2007 06:50 PM

Blessthefall is decent, they're a fun listen every now and then.

Slaapkamers 11-26-2007 06:56 PM
BlessTheFall is not good. I listened to their cd, and yawned through every song.
you might want to get that checked out

illpressureurhinges1 11-26-2007 07:12 PM

What's there to get checked out? The songs were boring as hell. That explains the yawning.

Dimmu Burger 11-26-2007 09:13 PM

Makes sense to me.

jrowa001 11-26-2007 10:13 PM

blessthefall arent really my thing, but theyre not as bad as some other bands. theres this other band Worthless Without that are kind of like them. im not a fan but some might like them

illpressureurhinges1 11-26-2007 10:14 PM

Never heard of them... But if they're like BlessTheFall, then they can't be that good.

i am the robots 11-26-2007 11:46 PM

BlessTheFall isn't that bad. They just sound good and are simple, they're fun to listen to in the same sense as Atreyu. :/

illpressureurhinges1 11-26-2007 11:54 PM
they're fun to listen to in the same sense as Atreyu. :/
I'm not sure whether that was serious or sarcastic...

i am the robots 11-26-2007 11:57 PM

It was serious baby gurl. They're the type of bands that are disliked because they're "girly" and "poppy," and they're very sterile, but they're not that bad of songwriters.

illpressureurhinges1 11-27-2007 12:15 AM

I never said anything against them, I just know that lots of people don't like them, and I wasn't sure where exactly you stood. Now its clear!

rid 11-27-2007 01:44 AM
What's there to get checked out? The songs were boring as hell. That explains the yawning.
I think he meant it like... one long yawn through the whole album. :p

jrowa001 11-27-2007 07:52 AM

who thinks War of Ages are one of the better christian bands? their last two albums are pretty solid

illpressureurhinges1 11-27-2007 03:02 PM

They're pretty good. I enjoy all their albums. I really want to see them live.

encmetalhead 11-27-2007 03:48 PM

Haste the day anyone?

RetiredAt21 11-27-2007 03:50 PM
Haste the day anyone?
Horrible, horrible band.

illpressureurhinges1 11-27-2007 03:57 PM
Haste the day anyone?
I'm pretty sure you can guess by my name that I like them...

Charizard 11-27-2007 04:06 PM

Haste The Day is pretty effin terrible.

illpressureurhinges1 11-27-2007 04:13 PM

How so? I think they are actually pretty good. They may not be the greatest band out there, but they are one of the first bands that got me into metalcore so maybe that's why I like them so much.
