They haven't actually started closing tab sites down yet I don't think but they are threatening to jail the owners so most are closing them down.
True. They are gonna start taking action in January.

UG is paying royalties or is owned by a Russian or something.

Mr. Black 12-30-2005 04:46 AM
Does anyone have Relics? I was just wondering if it was worth getting.

NP:Pink Floyd - Fearless
It's Ok, I think it's just a compilation of their barret-era days. But there's some good tracks on it.

Riva 12-30-2005 06:25 AM

Relics is good as a compilation album, if you don't want to collect More, Piper At The Gates of Dawn and some of their early singles. Otherwise, it's just a bit of extra space. Awesome cover art, though.

I think that thats why. UG pays to use the tabs so thats why they stay up.

David_Gilmour 12-30-2005 10:56 AM

Hey everyone, just found this thread, kinda cool no?

David_Gilmour 12-30-2005 10:57 AM

I start of, the best album floyd did was DSOTM, in my humble opinion

David_Gilmour 12-30-2005 11:08 AM

What? David Gilmour is cool! i tried it thinking some other peron would have it but no! Its mine!
Anyway, the name of David_Gilmour is in safe hands. I know everything there is to know about Pink Floyd

Akeh 12-30-2005 11:26 AM

'kay.
Wish you Were Here is better than DSotM I reckon.

DeusExMachina 12-30-2005 11:31 AM

Welcome to the forums, both of you. David_Gilmour, you might want to not triple post. It's kind of frowned upon. That's what the edit button is for.

I'm bummed, Gilmour is not coming anywhere near my house on his tour. He is going to be in Toronto at the same time I am, but I don't think I'll be able to make the show, and I don't want to spend the money on the tickets for a "probably not" situation. Oh well.

Has everyone heard the Island Jam? I like it. It's Gilmour in top form.

I love it, his tone is his usuall excellence.

I told my dad Gilmour is touring, and he's actually considering driving up to New York (partly because we didn't drive up to see Cream.)

What actually is that on the front?

random dave 12-30-2005 01:51 PM

Has anyone read the Pink Floyd biography that Nick Mason published a little while ago? I bought it for someone at christmas and am wondering if I should read it after them.

Mr. Black 12-30-2005 02:08 PM

I'm reading it at the moment.

classicrockman 12-30-2005 03:40 PM

I really like the song "If" from 'Atom Heart Mother.' It's really soothing...Roger's voice, and Dave's guitar. Not a bad album.

David_Gilmour 12-30-2005 03:44 PM

Yeah I got INside Out for christmas, i recommend it, Nick mason is a good author! lots of wit and humour. I was surprised to find that Nick and Roger were so close.
But yeah i think you should definately read it

maggot4875 12-30-2005 04:16 PM
What site would that be? Metaltabs.com is the only one I know of.
try ultimate-guitar.com

If you took each of the band members favourite colours and mixed them together in proportion based on songwriting credits on the album "Atom Heart Mother", which of David Gilmour's Effects pedals would be the closest to the colour made?

David_Gilmour 12-30-2005 05:19 PM

Probably his wah wah pedal

Mr. Black 12-30-2005 05:30 PM

That's an unanswerable question, because, not all the band even had song writing credits.

Edit: Oh, I see.

I owned myself.

Indeed, I think that album is quite underrated. The title track is wonderful and Summer '68 is one of my favorite Floyd tunes.

Broken Arrow 12-30-2005 10:17 PM

Wrong, it's his delay pedal.

And you call yourself a Floyd fan. :p

Yield 12-31-2005 01:20 PM

I was wandering, does Shine On count as an official Floyd album since its a box set

Dragon_Prince 12-31-2005 01:26 PM

it's a set of official albums, it's just a colleciton name ;) not an album ;)

The start and end are good, the middle part of the book has way too much name dropping and pointless stuff.

David_Gilmour 12-31-2005 05:11 PM

I got it for christmas, If you are a big floyd fan (like me) then you'll love it.

random dave 12-31-2005 05:43 PM

I think i'll read it anyway. It may give me more of an appreciation for floyd than i've already got.

DeusExMachina 01-02-2006 10:26 AM

Psh. Everyone knows that!

I still haven't gotten hold of Inside Out. I'll give it a read later.

Gilmour 01-02-2006 10:34 AM

I hear that they have a DSotM concert out for the PSP. :-/ I may get a PSP someday though, so that will be good.

n00bguitarist 01-02-2006 10:58 AM

Pink Floyd is my all-time favorite band. My favorite album of theirs is Animals and favorite song is Dogs. I love all of their albums. The only albums I don't care for too much are the post-Waters albums (A Momentary Lapse Of Reason and The Division Bell). But even still, those albums are good.

n00bguitarist 01-02-2006 11:01 AM
Indeed, I think that album is quite underrated. The title track is wonderful and Summer '68 is one of my favorite Floyd tunes.
I love that album. Indeed very underrated. Fat Old Sun is my favorite song from that album.

Now that I think of it, Atom Heart Mother is my favorite album after the "Godly" albums, as I like to call them; Animals, The Wall, Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish You Were Here.

hahacharadeyouare 01-02-2006 11:11 AM

why The Division bell its so underestimated by most of the old timed Pink Floyd fans, i've heard just a few replys about this album... it's agreat one... and its better when its played on pulse.... in my thoughts, one of the best live albums ever...following the BBC session of led zeppelin

sorry for my english, i'm from argentina so... :P

I'm only 15, so I'm not an old timed Pink Floyd fan, but I don't care much for The Division Bell. However, I do enjoy some of the tracks such as Marooned and High Hopes.

robo2448 01-02-2006 11:21 AM

Most of the posters in this thread actually are big fans of the Division Bell. Most of us agree that musically it is at least as good as any other Pink Floyd album, if not better, but is lacking lyrically. Still a very good album though.

I'm a big fan of Pulse. Great performance. I hope I can see Gilmour when he comes here this spring.

Yes, he is having a tour. Look up your own dates, but I know he's coming to Hollywood in April so, go me!

DeusExMachina 01-02-2006 12:47 PM

It's a small tour though. I don't think he's going to Argentina.

I'm personally a huge fan of TDB. I think it's probably musically the best Pink Floyd album, and the lyrics are certainly a step up from AMLOR.

DeusExMachina 01-04-2006 12:10 PM

So, did the PULSE DVD come out as planned? I didn't get time to check.

If it did, how is it? I can't wait to get hold of it.

/bump
