I've heard of Total Fucking Darkness before...
|
It was an old demo back in their black metal days.
They formed in 1991. |
All the lyrics, and the tracklists for various available bootlegs are available on darklyrics.
|
Medusa and Hemlock is probably my favorite song so far, it's tied with Lord Abortion.
|
Dusk & Her Embrace > your mortal souls.
|
I need to hear that one. I'm hearing lots of great things about it...
|
I'm sending it to someone as a late Christmas present because it's just that amazing. Hopefully she likes it as much as I do.
|
Who are you sending it to?
|
A friend. I met her on mx actually, but you wouldn't know who she is.
I also love Midian. Good stuff. Actually, I love every single one of their albums. |
Midian is great. Right now I'm liking Nymphetamine a bit more, but I have listened to it more than Midian.
|

Dani's softer edge to that part is amazing. It's up there with most of Haunted shores and the middle of Lord Abortion as my favourite Dani vocal part... |
What song is DAHE?
|

DAHE = Dusk & Her Embrace |
I'll tell what all Cradle fans should check out, Vempire. It's a very unknown yet fantastic album. It's got "Queen of Winter, Throned" on it, which could quite possibly be the band's best song.
|
I have heard of that also. I'm gonna see what else they have on iTunes...
|

They don't have much, and I know for a fact that Vempire isn't on there. |
I started listening to these guys after being told not to for the 900th time. They really aren't that bad, I mean, Dani's queer whispering get's old pretty fast, but the two albums I've got are pretty friggin decent. Yeah, they arent BM, but they aren't supposed to be.

You've got a point there. They don't try to be black metal so I don't see why people should call them posers or whatever. |

LMFAO |
I just ordered VEmpire...I like the songs from it I have, and am even considering "nocturnal supremacy" as a band name...
|
Damn right. :naughty:
A Gothic Romance is one of my favorite CoF songs. DAHE = Dusk & Her Embrace
Oh yeah i love that song...gets all soft and then "red roses for...the devils whore". DAHE is probably my favorite album. And i love playing the keys at the begining. |
You've got a point there. They don't try to be black metal so I don't see why people should call them posers or whatever.
Well, I think a lot ot if spawns from their main fanbase. I mean, they've got the guys who just like the music, and then the rest of their fans that look like a they were breaking in their newly purchased leather trenchcoats in the make-up section of Shoppers Drug Mart. |
You play keys? Awesome. Amor E Morte is a great song.
|

I already know you're a big CoF fan so you'll really enjoy this album, I assure you. And that's a really cool band name, by the way!:thumb: |
My band is going to try to do a cover of Born in A Burial Gown at our next school talent show. Took me a while but i can reach most if not all of the vocals on that song. The keys shouldnt be that difficult.
|
None of the keys in CoF are really difficult. Usually keys in metal aren't anyway.
|

Yeah i know, thats why i can play and do vocals at the same time. |

True, it's a bizzare mix at a cradle concert, you get these huge beer-bellied metalheads, and all these little mallcore kids. Very amusing, really. |
Yeah i know, thats why i can play and do vocals at the same time.
That's what I do for my band. If only me and the guitarist didn't fire our bassist and drummer. |
That's what I do for my band. If only me and the guitarist didn't fire our bassist and drummer.
Awsome another keyboardist. My band is just short a bassist but we should be able to find one pretty easly. |
So your saying power metal isn't hard to play on keys?
|
So your saying power metal isn't hard to play on keys?
I would certainly not. He obviously hasn't heard Children of Bodom or Dragonforce if he thinks that. |
*Cough*Dreamtheater*cough*
|
Janne Warman > all keyboardists \m/
It is ashame anout Martin Powell leaving though. |
Janne Warman > all keyboardists \m/
It is ashame anout Martin Foul leaving though.
Yeah he was a good keyboardist. Nothing really complicated it just fit perfectly into the music. |
Where did the name Cradle Of Filth come from?
|
Yeah he was a good keyboardist. Nothing really complicated it just fit perfectly into the music.
Powell is his real name. I don't actually know where the name came from. A nugget of info I have never come across, now you come to mention it. |
Where did the name Cradle Of Filth come from?
so would you say you are now a cradle of filth fan? |
I guess so :D
I like to know alot about a band when I get into them. |
