I've always been obsessed with Mama Kin, I like Aerosmiths version too, but can't decide which I like best.
I like Aerosmith's better. Have you seen the one where both bands play the song live?
|
Yeah, hence the sarcasm...
I see. It's hard to tell in text. |
I like Aerosmith's better. Have you seen the one where both bands play the song live?
Yeah, I have it no my computer. In really bad quality though :upset:
I see. It's hard to tell in text.
True, but I did use the smiley for sarcasm.. |
Yeah I wasn't sure what it was you meant exactly. It's cool though.
|
OK, cool :)
Slash's birthday today :chug: |
Happy Birthday Slash. :chug::chug::chug:
|

Good going.
*Searches Slash Pit thing and stuff album* So how old is he? Early 40's?? |
41, I think...
I'm gonna listen to some Live Era in celebration. |
About the show: Fair enough, like.
|
Happy Birthday Slash!
|
Happy birthday slash!
|
Yeah, he's 41 now. And I'm off to 'celebrate' his birthday by staring at GNR videos with my friends who are GNR freaks as well.. then I have to work.. damnit.

|
Cool little collection. But there's quite a few fakes in there, Oklahoma is especially ridiculous.
|
1 day 'till GNR :D \m/
|
What're you banned for?
|
Didn;t you see GNR?
|
At least you've seen them! I still haven't.
|
They covered We Are Sailing by Rod Stewart at last nights show :D Anyways, I'm leaving now, I'll post some kind of review when I get back.
|
I got one of the Use Your Illusion DVDs from the library today. It's pretty good :D
|
Which one?
I have them both, but I always preferred number 2 more. I don't know why though, because I haven't seen them for ages and I can't remember the setlists exactly. Slash playing the Godfather theme was always awesome though. /shudders after thinking about Axl's choice of pants on said DVD's |
It's UYI 1.
oh man, the pants! THE PANTS! :shudder: |
I just looked at the setlists (tracklists) I have no idea why I preferred UYI 2. UYI 1 looks just as good, if not better, on paper. I suppose I always disliked the number of time Axl changed costume during Civil War though, so I'm going to blame my preferences on that.
Are his pants black on UYI 1? The white ones on UYI 2 are way worse. :upset: |
Yeah, and he wears some red ones for a few songs.
:upset: |
Former Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach sang lead vocals for the last two songs ("Night Train" and "Paradise City") of Guns N' Roses' set at the Wembley Arena in London, England on Sunday (July 30) after singer Axl Rose was taken ill and was unable to finish the show. The band performed an abbreviated set which reportedly featured no new songs, a departure from the rest of the tour where several "Chinese Democracy" numbers were regularly aired at every performance.
In other news, Guns N' Roses played a special acoustic gig late Saturday/early Sunday at a small London club called Cuckoo, featuring a crowd made up in part of audience members from Guns N' Roses first Wembley Arena performance on Saturday (July 29) who had their names read out by Axl during the show. The acoustic gig reportedly started at 4:00 a.m. and finished at about 5:30 a.m. The July 30 Wembley concert was the final show of Guns N' Roses' lengthy European tour, which kicked off May 25 in Madrid, Spain. Guns N' Roses will headline KROQ's Inland Invasion 2006 on September 23 at the Hyundai Pavillion at Glen Helen in Devore, California. Additional U.S. dates are expected in the fall |
That better be a typo. Canadian tour dates instead of US.
Yeah, and he wears some red ones for a few songs. :upset:
He has like 2346237 different ones. You know you like it. |
GNR were amazing.
Bach was amazing. Izzy was amazing. 1.Welcome To The Jungle 2.It's So Easy 3.Mr.Brownstone 4.Live And Let Die 5.Robin Finck Guitar Solo (God Save The Queen) 6.Sweet Child O' Mine 7.Knockin' On Heaven's Door 8.Band Jam 9.Dizzy's Piano Solo 10.The Blues 11.Richard And Robin's Guitar Duet (Beautiful) 12.You Could Be Mine 13.Ron's Solo (Don't Cry) 14.Out Ta Get Me 15.Band Jam 16.November Rain 17.Band Introduction (w/Izzy Stradlin & Del James) 18.You Gotta Move (w/Izzy Stradlin & Del James) 19.Patience (w/Izzy Stradlin) 20.Nightrain (w/Izzy Stradlin) 21.Paradise City (Bach on vocals, No Axl) I just wrote a big old review, and the my web browser crashed and I lost it. So instead of writing it again, I have summed it up into some simple points. It wasn't the longest set of the tour, and Axl didn't even make it to the end, but just seeing those songs, and Axl screaming at me from so close, was magical. Highlights were Novemeber Rain with it's 3 amazing solo's, The Blues and It's So Easy. And suprisingly Paradise City with Bach was really interesting wo watch, aswell as the amazing solo from Bumblefoot and the Christina Aguillera adaptation. Some low quality snaps I took on my phone.... Me and a friend before the show (you can just about make out the GNR merch) http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a306/Kyle_libertine/MeandOli.jpg Finck and Fortus on their solo, it was beautiful. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a306/Kyle_libertine/RobinandRichard.jpg Izzy Fuckin' Stradlin http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a306/Kyle_libertine/Izzy.jpg My favorite shot of Axl on top of the piano during The Blues climax http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a306/Kyle_libertine/AxlonPiano.jpg In summary, twas an amazing night! |
Was you gotta move the thing with the maracas?
|
I think it's a Stones cover, but I don't recall any Maracas being included. It was the first song with Izzy and he just came out and played it on his own basically. It sounded kinda bluesy/old school rock and roll-ish.
|
hmm...we must have had something different then.
Sounds pretty much the same as our set apart from the lack of paradise city and we got Chinese Democracy instead of The Blues. |
yeah, it's odd that there was no My Michelle at the show I went to, but any mior differences in the sets don't bother me at the end of the day. I would have liked to see them play 'Better' and maybe even 'Chinese Democracy', but I'm more than happy with what I got.
You know you like it.
>_> <_< WHO TOLD YOU |
That was **** hot, i thought Linda Perry's performance was ace, but you're right slash really sounded on fire. They should both of worn their top hats though :)

Surprise trip to the Teenage Cancer Trust
Guns n' Roses singer Axl Rose has made a surprise visit to the Teenage Cancer Trust Ward at the University College Hospital in London. The singer had just completed Guns N' Roses' controversial European tour, culminating with a final date at Wembley Arena a week last Sunday (July 30). Simon Davies the CEO of the Teenage Cancer Trust Ward said: "We were so touched that Axl wanted to visit the Teenage Cancer Trust ward in London. "Axl spent time speaking with each of the patients individually asking about their diagnosis and treatment, and what they enjoyed doing when they were not in hospital. Speaking with patients after Axl's visit, I got a real sense of just how excited they were to have met him and how much it lifted their spirits." The Teenage Cancer Trustis known for its strong links with rock music. Each year The Who singer Roger Daltrey produces a week of shows at the Royal Albert Hall, which this year featured Bloc Party and Razorlight. |
That's pretty cool, good on Axl for doing that.
Hehe, I lend my brother AFD, and he's obsessed by it. |

|
It's up there with my favorite debuts.
|
Ouch. I tried making my sister listen to GNR and she just laughed.
