Mark Kozelek is amazing and underappreciated. I will buy everything he's made in the next few weeks. I've waited far too long to obtain more of his magnificent body of work.

I'm into a lot of Massive Attack. I'm listening to 100th Window and then I'm going to get Mezzanine and Blue Lines. Im looking foward because 100th Window is sooooo good. :thumb:
I've been to some nasty high school and college gigs..everyone else is stoned or drunk, but at least they mind their own business.:P But drunk people are sometimes scary..They randomly stab people back in my country..yeesh.

Anyways, I didn't have enough cash so I bought Isn't Anything by MBV first 'cause it's cheaper($7.99 Canadian!).It's my first taste of shoegazer I guess..I listened to a little Sonic Youth before but I forgot how it sounded like, hehe. I like Lose My Breath, I Can See It(But I Can't Feel It) and Cupid Come. I hope Loveless is even better. :D
Loveless is about 3 times as good. Isn't Anything is still a great record though.

Tangy zizzle 08-12-2004 01:18 AM

Rogue Wave have made an impression on me recently. Out Of The Shadows is one of the best albums of the year so far, very good stuff.

Master Arkam Kannon 08-12-2004 10:53 AM

ive been digging early 20s and 30s and before jazz, its really amazing what was being done way back then and how much music has actually gotten a lot simpiler since then...

I was in HMV today and saw MBV, I almost baught it but decided not too... I have a few MP3's and I think that'll do.

br3ad_man 08-12-2004 05:03 PM

bought! You almost bought it!

I'm going to listen to The Fragile by NIN today. It's not often that I get a day off school (this will be my second one in 2004) but it's good times when I do.

sorry man but that just wont do, you need to get that album for the sake of really experiencing it the way you should...its an album made to be an album, not just a bunch of singles, its a living breathing entity in itself, you need the whole album to truely understand...

StrangerMangler 08-12-2004 07:34 PM

I've really gotten into interpol and ther album "turn on the bright lights", its great

I like "A Lack of Colour" and "Expo '86" the best, what album should I get?

Luxor 08-12-2004 10:04 PM

Well, both of those songs are off Transatlanticism... So I suggest you get that album.

br3ad_man 08-12-2004 11:58 PM

alright. I'll download it first, just in case...I know you understand that :)

Darn. I sold my copy of The Fragile a few months ago.. I miss it so much..:( La Mer and Just Like You Imagined Rocks..

Haven't heard Death Cab myself..they got me curious though, so does Pavement and Lovage, are they good? Argh..there's so much I wanna listen to but don't have money right now.:upset: (I don't download by the way)

Tapeworm 08-14-2004 02:48 AM

My copy of The Fragile was stolen by one of my bastard friends. I miss it. I've bene kickin' it with my Jeff Buckley DVD lately. And I'm really getting back into Interpol in anticipation of Antics.

br3ad_man 08-14-2004 04:19 AM

^^^^ GHEY!!!!

Maybe you should kill him :)

Not really.

Is Jeff's DVD good? I was thinking of getting it.

OrbDragon 08-14-2004 08:22 AM

I'm digging Dälek alot...their new album is coming out soon and I can't wait to hear it. Speaking of new albums, I've gotten into a huge Björk wind after I saw her perform "Oceania" at the Olympic opening...that song was friggin' incredible. I just hope the album version doesn't turn out lame.

I'm also thinking of buying the new Dillinger Escape Plan record...their new singer is incredible.

Tapeworm 08-14-2004 08:14 PM
Is Jeff's DVD good? I was thinking of getting it.
My favourite DVD by far. Words can not describe it's goodness. Definately buy it. DO IT.

Tangy zizzle 08-14-2004 08:14 PM

Rogue Wave have been blowin' my mind. Out Of The Shadow is a really good album.

I got an Idlewild album yesterday. It's called Hope Is Important, and it's not very good. I'd never heard them before, so I thought I wouldn't lose on it - since it was only $2. I'd give it a 6/10.

Little Man being Erased 08-14-2004 09:35 PM

I like Idlewild, I have The Remote Part and it is quite good. I haven't heard that (^^) album, but I don't think you should give up on them yet. Go get The Remote Part or just listen to "A Modern Way of Letting Go", that song is brilliant.

Tangy zizzle 08-14-2004 11:48 PM

Tomahawk - Mit Gas has been declared Tangy Zizzle's Official Album of The Week

clown_phobia 08-14-2004 11:50 PM

it must be good to live up to your standards, no kidding.

Tangy zizzle 08-14-2004 11:54 PM
it must be good no live up to your standards, no kidding.
I'm not following...

clown_phobia 08-14-2004 11:59 PM

all your albums of the week are really good and classic, but now you name one that i've never heard of, so I'm saying it must be good to get mentioned.

Tangy zizzle 08-15-2004 12:02 AM

Ah ok, I getcha now. I thought you were taking the piss...

It's a top album, check it out.

br3ad_man 08-15-2004 04:31 AM
My favourite DVD by far. Words can not describe it's goodness. Definately buy it. DO IT.
It'll be my next purchase. Unless I find an extremely cheap Elliott Smith album.

KazooVirtuoso 08-15-2004 02:54 PM
I'm also thinking of buying the new Dillinger Escape Plan record...their new singer is incredible.
You should, it's a great album. The new singer sounds very Patton influenced at times, and has big muscles and the hairstyle of a little schoolboy. What more can you ask for in a singer?

But anyway, my current diggin'-it list:

DEP - Miss Machine
Mastodon - Leviathan
Pinback - Summer in Abaddon (album of the year for me, even though it's not actually out yet)
Pelican - Australasia

I also recently discovered the band Ozomatli, and while they're nowhere near a favorite of mine, they're a fun little jig up in dis joint.

KappaKid17 08-15-2004 07:01 PM

Franz Ferdinand's self titled is quite addicting, and I've been into that for the past couple of weeks.

I've been listening to the Fiery Furnaces' "Blueberry Boat" due to the overwhelming response and plugging of the album here, and the album certainly deserves it.

I've started listening to a lot of:

!!!
Sparta
Stone Temple Pilots
Fu Manchu
The Cure

Luxor 08-15-2004 09:46 PM

I borrowed Jeff Buckley - Grace from my girlfriend today... I've never heard anything by him but I've head good things, so I decided to check him out.
