were you even here for those first three pages? i'm too lazy to check
|
yeah i had third post
casually mentioned in it that thread wouldnt last |
haha, so much for that then. did you check out that green army fraction?
|
not yet, i was just looking at it earlier though and I'll probably listen soon
|
Thanks for all the help/recs you guys. Ya, it took a little while for me to get used to ohGr but I like about 3-4 songs on Welt. Just looked at the recommendation page (was a bit lost here on the forums). Some pretty interesting stuff, especially in the "Bands to expand your tastes" section. A lot of different styles. I like a variety of Industrial, but then again, that's the good thing about music. There are so many styles, you're bound to find something that hits your current mood.
And I see KMFDM! Awesome, definitely brings back memories. I'd say the album Symbols helped me make it through the majority of high school. And they were the first official concert I officially went to (won 2 free tickets). Although I unfortunately had to leave early.. *Btw, they are going on tour again. Check out http://www.metropolis-records.com/news/tours.php You can get some info on artists there as well. |
Yeah, I still love KMFDM. I've been re-listening to Naïve a lot lately, everything from that period up until about Symbols is awesome to me. As for their later stuff... eh. I'm sure they still put on a good live show though.
|
they are coming here in a couple months and i will find free tickets
|
Hah yeah I have to agree with you. I haven't really listened to their new material as much. Symbols is still the one album that sticks out to me. I hope my link helped though. Hell, maybe someday I'll even make a list. Should I post it here or in the recommendations thread? Also, I definitely don't know the most, but if you want to know about [concert] venues, tours, etc just let me know. I'm more familiar with the SoCal area as of now. I'll post some links.
And Jaundice, maybe if you concentrate hard enough tickets will appear. But in all seriousness, good luck, hope you find them. I got my tickets from a radio show, not sure if they're on air anymore, but you guys can find/discover songs/bands in the playlists. Here's the site: http://kuci.org/~dach/ |
For now:
Front Line Assembly - Decoy Heimataerde - Im Sande Des Wahns Aesthetic Perfection - The Siren Die Krupps - To The Hilt (the video cracks me up) Aslan Faction - Hell On Earth (davaNtage remix) |
i've only heard old school synthpop Die Krupps, should get one of their modern albums

the 8-bit tribute to Miles Davis's Kind of Blue between all the top internet chiptune artists has just been released |
So Foetus are pretty much the best thing ever.
|
I've been digging a lot of orchestral influenced ambient/IDM artists; Sylvain Chaveau, Kaishwa D, etc..
EDIT: Txus, work blocked my access to last.fm. What did your shout say? |

I demand copyright royalties for that crappy chiptune sequence I sent you and you turned into a song
|
Okay. You get 100% of the $0.00 royalties, minus your contribution to hosting fees. So you owe me 15 cents.
 |

I've got an idea re: what we were discussing last night. Remind me when we talk next.
|
k man
i've had I Am Surrounded By Incompetence by Foetus stuck in my head all day http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXTUE6J-_Kk |
who else likes FLA's earlier albums (alba?) more
|
i've never heard anything but Tactical Neural Implant, what are some of their earlier releases worth looking into? they have more then I expected
|
well tbh everything pre-Tactical Neural Implant has a very abstract sound where melody and vocals, if any, take a backseat to instrumental textures
(oh god I'm sounding like an ANUS reviewer) in many respects I prefer it to their more current material, especially the unlistenable industrial rock they put out so far I prefer State of Mind but everything 1986~1992 is well worth the listen as well as their numerous ambient side projects |
