Yep, Maiden sure like performing. I've never seen a heavy metal band look so happy when singing songs about Satan and such. You don't get that from your Linkin Parks and Korns of the world.

A couple years ago I was looking through my Dads old vinyl collection, and what did I come by? An old copy of Piece of Mind! I was impressed.

Neopowell 01-28-2004 04:57 PM

Saw Maiden at Donnington last year.....they only played Wildest Dreams from DoD, but the album hadn't been released so we couldn't expect any better :P

Best live show of my whole life though :D

ArnoldLayne 01-29-2004 12:15 PM

do music stores still sell the best of the beast two disc set or only the one disc set...
i looked at the one disc and its almost identicle to edward the great (which i already own). the two disc set looks liek the best collection ive ever seen...but i do have most of maidens CDs

HondoII 01-29-2004 01:58 PM

the 2 disc set was discontinued a while ago. Luckily i have it. Might want to check ebay or amazon.com

ArnoldLayne 01-29-2004 03:54 PM

do they still produce the album 'A REAL DEAD ONE' either (not A 'Real Live Dead One', i meant what i said)

i cant find it anywhere...

FrailandBedazzled1979 01-29-2004 04:59 PM

^^^^

Look for the remasters. They put "a real live one" and "a real dead" one into as two-disc set, simply titled "A real live dead one"...i know its confusing, you may have seen it and just not known.

ArnoldLayne 01-30-2004 06:22 PM

best album and best live album in ur opinion

YDload 01-30-2004 07:24 PM

Okay, so I was sitting on the bus this morning, listening to NOTB. Some other kid takes off his headphones and lets everyone else listen to it because he can't figure out what Cradle of Filth song he was listening to. Now, I had just finished listening to "Hallowed Be Thy Name" so I thought that may be it, and it was!

However, this one kid just had to say: "That's a great song, but the original version sucks."

!

Luckily someone else put him in his place: "If it wasn't for Maiden there wouldn't even be a Cradle of Filth, or any of those other bands you listen to!"

Fool.

sensitiveorgan00 01-30-2004 08:03 PM

CoF version =
But at least there's someone who appreciates Maiden. :thumb:

FrailandBedazzled1979 01-31-2004 01:34 AM

The Cradle version i thought was wonderfully done. great leads at the end, wonderful drumming, and they gave it a nice black metal touch without straying from the classic sound of it.

as for best live cd by them......easily "live after death".
