Yes it is. It's really long, the Australia show is worth the DVD alone.
|
Yeah, the only thing I'm upset about is the complete lack of Syndic Calls. It's the ONLY song they didn't play from Panopticon and I personally think it's one of the top 3 songs on the album. That made me really sad. :(
|
I've been enjoying the Explosions In The Sky album that was in the Daily Upload last week.
|
Explosioins in the Sky?
sorry, i kind of nod off every time i hear their name |
Hey Eliminator
I've got somethin' against you :( |

I know, that sucks so much because it's my favorite song in Panopticon. I loooove So Did We live, I think it's the best song in that DVD. Anyway, the Don Caballero album I bought yesterday is really damn good. Everyone should check them out eventually. |
Saxon Shore- The Exquisite Death of Saxon Shore
Get this album, fellow post-rockians. |
Understood.

I have a slight dillema. My friend apparently doesn't know how to organize his music, so when his burned copy of Panopticon entered my hard drive, it was totally discombobulated and out of order.
I need someone to give me the track lengths of each track off of Panopticon, plzkthx. PS: I already tried Google and since the first 5 links yielded nothing I came here. :) |
Don Caballero rule, but that album is far from their best.
|
Hey guys, would the new Isis album be a good starting album for them? I really like "Dulcinea" and plus I'm in desperate need for some good albums released this year.

My, multi-faceted, question to all you post-rockers out there is:
Would My Bloody Valentine classify as Post-Rock? Or is it that Shoegaze music is just a sub-genre of Post-Rock/Metal AND if so would a band like Melt Banana classify as Shoegaze and subsequently Post-Rock? Well, would they? (I usually hate the pedantic nature of genres but have been recently fueled by a desire to categorise all my music) |
My Bloody Valentine are shoegaze. Shoegaze insn't a post rock/metal subgenre.
|
Yep. Pretty much completely different genres, but there are the occasion bridge jumpers. My Bloody Valentine not being one of them from what I've heard.
No idea about The Melty B's. |
Melt Banana is the opposite of post rock if anything!
|
Haha, Metlbanana talk in a post-rock thread.
|
I've never heard them, but it's about as un-post rock of a name a band could have. :p
Explosions In The Sky has at long last announced the release of their follow up to 2003's The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place, entitled All of a Sudden, I Miss Everyone.
The album art will look like this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v438/lovelymetaphors/allofthesudden.jpg And the tracklist is as follows: 1. The Birth and Death of the Day 2. Welcome, Ghosts 3. It's Natural To Be Afraid 4. What Do You Go Home To? 5. Catastrophe And Cure 6. So Long, Lonesome The album will be released on February 20th, 2007 around which they will begin touring again. I'll post more dates as they're announced, so check back. As always, thanks for supporting the band :) Cheers- ~Melody Explosions' myspace elf
I am in love with this album cover. |
Melt Banana rule.
|
Hmmm, I think I'm one of the few Post Rock fans that doesn't like EITS that much. The album cover looks fantastic though.
|
EITS are more of a gateway into better post rock. They were the first post rock band that I really loved.
|
That album cover is awesome. Explosions in the Sky is pretty average to me. This album will probably determine whether I like them or not. If it's the same ol' thing they've been doing a lot, I'll give them a big two thumbs down.
|
Best Post Rock Ever = Te.
And Melt Banan do rule. |
What was that? I thought I heard someone saying something foolish. Must've been my imagination.
EITS is a good gateway band for sure. They are the PR band I first got into as well. |
You can check out one of the songs, namely 'Welcome, ghosts' here: http://pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/39771/Explosions_in_the_Sky_Miss_Everyone_Share_ (all the way down the article)
Haven't checked it yet, and the cover isn't loading for me, but nonetheless I'm very curious about this album. |
