Yes...possibly her Ghost, he means?
No. Okay this is all I know. I'm in the car with my dads g-friends son who tells me about this band called "Cradle of Filth" and that he would listen to them whenever he needed to get pumped up for a basketball game or somthing cause he said they were pretty hard. He gets out a CD and I didn't look at it and he puts it in and takes me to this song where somewhere in the song he starts singing really fast at a super low voice and gradually get really high still singing fast.

So are there still several people who want Vempire? I got it a while ago. It's quite good. I'll be willing to send it to whoever wants it.

Well they do have some good bands.

Does anyone have CoF's live CD? Can you send it to me?

Shadows 10-04-2005 06:11 PM

I'll zip Vempire up and send it to whoever wants it.

CoF puts on a very good, theatrical show.

I've seen their live videos of them playing Cthulhu Dawn, it was pretty sweet.

They didn't play that live when I went to see them. :( That was one of the only disappointment, as it's one of my favorite CoF songs. They played a fair amount of songs from every album except D&HE, from which they played no songs, another big disappointment, as it's one of my favorite CoF albums.

But still, they played some amazing stuff like Nemesis, The Promise of Fever, Her Ghost in the Fog, The Principle of Evil Made Flesh, and Nymphetamine. I was actually pretty impressed by how much old stuff they played.

Did they play these three songs? Lord Abortion, The Forest Whispers My Name, Summer Dying Fast. If they did thats awesome, those are my 3 favorite songs by them. I bet Nemesis was awesome live too.

Oh, it was.

I don't think they played Lord Abortion (another one of my favorite CoF songs) but I'm pretty sure they played the other two.

Wow, that must have been an incredible show. I'm definetly going to see them the next time they come around. In the mean time, seeing Opeth and Nevermore will suffice. :thumb:

Yep, my seeing Amon Amarth and CoB will keep me going for a while too.

Lord Abortion 10-04-2005 06:22 PM

They didn't do summer dying fast or Lord Abortion when I saw them, they played the forest whispers my name though...

Yeah, I think Forest Whispers My Name is one of their more famous songs, if I am not mistaken.

Shadows 10-26-2005 05:02 PM

Ooohh, bumping an old thread!

Anyhoo, I've been getting back into these guys lately. I've decided to seriously start learning some entire CoF songs on guitar, as they're fun to play and well within my skill range. In the meantime, I can't seem to stop listening to Damnation and a Day.

It's also mildly humorous that people have been impersonating Dani Filth on myspace lately.

Lord Abortion 10-26-2005 05:06 PM

Yah, I read the post on the site about it :)

Mannequin is one of the best songs on DAAD, the intro is cool.

Shadows 10-26-2005 05:10 PM

My favorite songs on that album are:

Mannequin (the intro riff is one of my all-time favorite CoF riffs)
The Promise of Fever
Hurt and Virtue
Babylon AD
Smoke of Her Burning

That album has a very distinctive vibe to it that none of their albums had. I think they blended the orchestra in beautifully. Many say it's one of their wrose albums, but over the years it's become one of my favorites. Still, their old stuff is unsurpassable.

Ollie, are you a big Cradle of Filth fan?

Yeah, Cradle are my 3rd favourite band of all time, behind Maiden and Iced earth.

I could've guess by your name. :) But I never see you talk about them, so I wasn't completely sure. For me, they're my 3rd or 4th favorite, behind Shadows Fall and Children of Bodom. I'd say they're tied with Arsis for 3rd right now.

Anyway...

Lord Abortion 10-26-2005 05:18 PM

I only talk about them in passing,I keep it to this thread and when serious discussion happens about them in the BM thread or death heads, like a young gentleman of postcount deficiency comes in and mentions them in terms of BM.

Shadows 10-26-2005 05:23 PM

I understand. I haven't talked about them in a very long time either. Very unfortunate. :(

When do you see them with Cathedral? Or did you already?

Friday 9th of december

I'm going to go on a cradle binge starting tomorrow.

Shadows 10-26-2005 05:27 PM

Sweet. That's almost exactly one year after I saw them  Last year it was Dec 10. Stood in line for an hour, cold as all hell, but it was worth it.

I need to jump-start my love of Cradle. Step 1: finish purchasing their entire discography.

Elnimio 10-26-2005 05:38 PM

Cradle of Filth are a very underrated band amongst metalheads.
