Ouch. Doing a Rush song poorly is unacceptable.

*frantically works on perfecting FreeWill for my band*

*Is annoyed at odd chord progressions and riffs that his blues rockness barely ever plays*

Too true. Even more so on drums. If you can't play it like Peart, you can't play it.

Which usually means I can't play it, but hey, I try.
I heard YYZ on the radio yesterday.
 wow an instrumental on the radio?!?! I actually have never heard one

Huber 08-25-2005 01:24 AM

I've only heard Metallica ones on the radio, but that's cheating.

Where do you people hear Rush on the radio anyways? I've never heard them, not even on the classic rock stations or anything.

thunderzstruck 08-25-2005 08:37 AM

Once in a LOOONG while on the classic rock station and only one on the new age station, it's the station that plays stuff like... slipknot, greenday, that kinda stuff

kurrpt 08-25-2005 08:42 AM

they dont play Rush a lot around my neck of the woods. I guarentee you every time i hear ANYTHING, i crank it. Drives my girl nuts, but its a neccessary evil :D

thunderzstruck 08-25-2005 09:34 AM

kurrpt 08-25-2005 09:35 AM

Xanadu 08-25-2005 06:24 PM

hearing rush on the radio is sooo much better then just listening to the cds, expecially while driving!

Xanadu 08-25-2005 06:27 PM
my friend would love this thread he's obsessed beyond words with rush and in my opinion rush is one of the greatest f'uckin bands ever
all thaks to me

Maggot Dream 08-25-2005 08:30 PM

Unfortunately, Rush's albums are far underrated. They have the ability to put together a complete, cohesive album, yet all the radio plays are the standards (Fly By Night, Tom Sawyer, etc.). Listening to their albums start to finish is a great experience.

BludgeonySteve 08-25-2005 08:36 PM

Yep. They need more Rush albums on those shows where they play a whole album that you can find on music classic rock stations (it's all the same format).

BludgeonySteve 08-26-2005 02:19 PM

Definitly. Yep, you are right there, RNR. You da man!

MBS 08-26-2005 03:11 PM

Yea RNR, you are THE man!

BludgeonySteve 08-26-2005 03:22 PM

**** straight!

...wait a second...

You know, this isn't the first or even second time somebody has tried to imitate me.

I know, guitrguy imitated you last Halloween. You got pissed off and threatened to report him. I was reading through the CR thread again. :D

It was when you had the "Mx Blind Mullet " usertitle and the Healy avatar.

BludgeonySteve 08-26-2005 03:31 PM

Yeah, but that time it was because of halloween. This time it's personal!

MBS 08-26-2005 03:35 PM

Well, let's just say I'm retarded and I think it's Halloween. :)

On the topic of Rush - I've only got 2112. Suggestions on what to get next?

BludgeonySteve 08-26-2005 03:37 PM

Perminent Waves, A Farewell To Kings, Fly By Night, Caress of Steel, Moving Pictures.

Oh man, it looks like i'm quadruple posting.

MBS 08-26-2005 03:40 PM

Oh my gosh, ban'd!

Oh, I forgot to mention I have the "Chronicle" greatest hits CD too.

What are the best tracks from those CD's you mentioned, and I'll see if they're on "Chronicle"

BludgeonySteve 08-26-2005 03:43 PM

My brain hurts looking at all the RNR in here! Aaaaagh!

Drone 08-26-2005 05:46 PM

I just picked up Moving Pictures today along with De-loused in the Comatorium from The Mars Volta. Both great albums :D.

BludgeonySteve 08-26-2005 07:02 PM

I just got a Rush tab/sheet music book. No more ****ty internet tabs for me, nope nope. It didn't have 2112 though...

Is it that one that's purple and the first tab is Working Man? If so, I got that one last Christmas, good stuff!

BludgeonySteve 08-26-2005 08:03 PM

Yep. That's the one!

But no 2112 :( (it's actually ok because 2112 doesn't have too many extremly crazy guitar parts. There are some decent tabs on the internet too. Though discovery might be a bit hard without a perfect one).

Cain 08-26-2005 08:21 PM

I think I have that book. It's loosely based on "Chronicles."

One of these days, I'm gonna buy the drum music book that has all of 2112 and program it into Garageband and record my own crazy version. :D

BludgeonySteve 08-26-2005 08:23 PM

Nice. That would be awesome. To have backing while you played it.

Oh wait, I have a band to do that for me! (and my drummer is good too)
