Actually, the Macintosh file is a version of The Hand That Feeds converted to Garageband format, which is a Mac program that allows multi-track instrumental and MIDI recording. Basically, it's a program to record music, and a pretty damed good one, considering the price/ease of use.

So basically, they allow you to mess around with the different tracks of that song and make your own remixes and even add your own parts.

Man, that's pretty cool.

One week and six days until the release of With Teeth. I better start my pre-release binge of NIN material pretty soon.

Sucks, though, on the day the album is released I have a big test that will keep me on campus until 5 PM, and then at 6:30 I have to go to some stupid meeting. I'm either going to have skip school or just downright run to the store in between those two things.

Man, that sucks. I'll probably just send my mom out with the money to buy it when I'm at school or something :p

Magicaltroll 04-20-2005 08:58 PM
Skip school. School is gh3y.

NIN = more important than school.
So true...

misunderstood 04-20-2005 10:38 PM

I also have a **** final exam on May 3rd which sucks because the night before instead of studying I'm going to be out at the "With Teeth release party". Kage, what school to you go to?

I know this has nothing to do with NIN but I'm just curious.

jester589 04-21-2005 07:02 AM

I cannot wait for this album!!! I've heard a lot of the leaks and they sound great. I really can't wait for Right Where it Belongs

The_Shredder 04-21-2005 11:07 AM

The reviews of this album have me really excited. Most describe it as an updated Pretty Hate Machine era NIN album.

I cannot wait for May 3rd. Especially because I get to see NIN the next day!

*high fives self*

clearvision 04-21-2005 12:19 PM

It is alot like PHM imo.

vashts80 04-21-2005 02:39 PM

I agree, it's more like PHM than TDS or TF.

Six Foot Revolver 04-21-2005 02:43 PM

May 3rd? It comes out on May 2nd in England . I thought it would be released in American first

misunderstood 04-21-2005 02:57 PM

Nah, we don't get releases until a day after the UK...Thats why Tuesdays are my favorite day of the week..heh.

Kage 04-21-2005 03:45 PM

It doesn't sound like PHM at all from when I heard it. Maybe I need to hear it a few more times, though.

@misunderstood I go to Clear Lake High School. It'll be a longshot that you've ever heard of it, though. :)

clearvision 04-21-2005 03:55 PM

Well it's easy on your ears. Lots of mellow-ish songs, not so much of your 'god is dead, no-one cares' type Nin... (now talks like he is well versed in Nin  ) Thats why i think it can be compared to PHM, it's kind of pop-ish really, and PHM is considered pop-ish by many people.

Gave_Up 04-21-2005 04:39 PM

Yea the new album seems to have a really more pop directed influence, but hey, if he can make pop music good then fair ****s! And if anyone says, "The new albums **** cause its popular and mainstream" can they please kill themselves for my benefit? :D

Heh, no haven't heard of it...For some reason I thought you were in college though.

12Rounds 04-21-2005 06:44 PM

None of you believed me when I said what the file was?

Magicaltroll 04-21-2005 06:48 PM

I don't recall you saying what it was... sorry :D

Yeah, I can see that, but when I listened to it I didn't get a PHM vibe or feel or anything like that at all.

We shall see come May 3rd, though.

heavy metal kid 04-21-2005 10:32 PM

Did you know Reznor is putting the parts of the hand that feeds to the public so they can modify the song.

Kage 04-21-2005 10:33 PM

Yes

heavy metal kid 04-21-2005 10:35 PM

I think is a good idea, but i really like the hand that feeds, i think is more for the people who didn't like the song.

clearvision 04-22-2005 09:52 AM

Some dude on manson USA did a remix of THTF, a dance one, i don't think it's appropriate to post but it was darn cool. How is reznor giving people the parts? All the original bit's before they were mixed?

There's also a Country version.

misunderstood 04-22-2005 10:52 AM

Heh. A country version... :amaze:

So where can I listen to these things?

clearvision 04-22-2005 11:22 AM

I've heard him do coma white by manson with just a piano, was good.

misunderstood 04-22-2005 11:26 AM

Thanks alot! :thumb:

By the way, I actually just found this other page where they have quite a few mixes...there's even one combined with britney's "Toxic"... :upset:

Werny 04-23-2005 06:29 AM

Ok guys, I went to a second hand stall at the markets today, and there was Broken by NIN. Is this some kind of rarity? I didn't buy it, but hey if it's rare then I can brag about seing it.
