How much do you guys think two pieces of heavy carpet, hanging 2 inches away from each other, would dampen noise?
|
<rubs finger and thumb>
i know, but the v-amp is a good piece of equipment. You'd probably wish you still had it at some stage.
How much do you guys think two pieces of heavy carpet, hanging 2 inches away from each other, would dampen noise?
hanging two pieces of crapet close but not touching is effective, but wether you are satisfied or not depends on your needs. |

Depends how big the carpet is, what the sound source is, how loud, the frequency and the placement of the carpet and sound source. Hanging things does work fairly well though. |
Go go captain obvious! I just have this crazy idea, of making a carpet box, for cheap soundprofing when I move into an apartment. |

Any of you guys know af a decent DVD ripping program that's free/can be sent over msn?
I have an ace DVD called Live Sound Reinforcement, dealing with every aspect of PA usage, and making your band heard, that I wanna rip and upload for you guys... I have a demo version of some program at the minute, but it will only do the first section of the DVD, which is about shifting gear, and isn't that interesting... |

DVD decrypter is good http://www.dvddecrypter.com/ But I think you need some other program too, to do it properly.. /me searches for 5 min http://www.autogk.me.uk/ <-- That's the one.. Encoding software Edit: to elaborate, first decrypt the dvd, then use auto gordion knot, to encode it PS. those programs are freeware, and better than anything you'd ever get if you payed money |
dvd decrypter only rips to .vobs if i remember, which is great for portection free copies (thats what i use it for), but you need a vob-mpeg converter to watch on your PC.

Nice stuff Matt; Matons are sweet as. :thumb: |
Yeah :).
Now I just need a better electric. I've decided for my own songs I'm just going to write all the guitar and bass parts and find guitarists who don't mind being told what to do a little. |

How's it going with the ripping of the cdmabobs? |
me has a think, and decides i'd be better off saving for a LC15R valve amp and using the v-amp for FX than pissing about with rack toys...

How big is the file gonna be? We have small space, 500mb storage and 2gig or something bandwidth. |
I've got some space too - depends how big the file is though.
|
w00t, laptop = mine :D.
|
Ace, I dunno how big the file will be, I'll let you know though.
|
what does XLR stand for?
|
The three pin configuration on XLR plugs is known as an X plug.
This design was developed further with the use of a latch (to keep to two connectors secure) and a rubber gasket to ensure a snug fit. So, you've got the X, with the Latch, and the Rubber gasket. XLR. |
pretty **** cool. I'll never forget that
