clown_phobia 12-08-2004 10:17 PM

John Lennon is dead, fools!

morrissey 12-08-2004 10:19 PM
happiness is a warm, yes it is guuuuuuun. bang bang shoot shoot. BTW, can anybody name the only other non-beatle to tour with the beatles for a short time as a beatle?
I know who you're talking about, but don't remember his name. He I believe filled in for Ringo during their first world tour in 1964 while they were in Australia I think. He was in for two weeks, because Ringo was really sick.

Also, John died 24 years ago (I think that's already been mentioned). I walked over where he got shot too, and I've been to the Strawberry Fields section of Central Park.

AND THE ANSWER IS: Jimmy Nichols, who played drums while ringo was sick w/ pnemonia (spelling). Also R.I.P. My hero who died tonight 24 years ago. Long live his soul, spirit, and message.

P.S.
I blame Yoko for nothing more than making John Lennon a happier person, which is alright if you ask me.

JamesPatrickPageZoSo 12-08-2004 11:54 PM

oh yeah, another thing. there is a great documentary on the TrueStories network tonight. If you have the channel i highly recomend watching it, its called "imagine: john lennon" i like the part where he talks to a drugged out hippie who has been sleeping in his garden and then lennon invites him in for tea and food. dont miss it.

hi guys,
i just like to say that the beatles r clearly the best band ever.
Cmon they recorded 214 songs in 7 years they are very good song writers and they r great. Now wat is everyones fave album and song by the beatles, for me that is a hard question my fave original album is let it be or abbey road but alot of people dissagree. There early music was great, a hard days night was a classic album same with rubber soul and sgt peppers there both great sgt peppers was there biggest turning point compared to Revolver and my least fave album is yellow sumbarine. THere is no way i have a fave song by them, there is 2 many to choose from.
My fave album by them is Past Masters Vol 2 but i no that it is not original but it has the best songs on it.
So have a think and reply

Walrus Gumboot 12-09-2004 10:11 AM

someday I aspire to be a drugged up hippie living in someone's garden.

DeusExMachina 12-09-2004 03:37 PM

Why does Rock Not Roll keep getting banned...?

Don't worry Walrus Gumboot, you can do it! I have faith in you!

^Dream~Theater^ 12-09-2004 03:39 PM

My friend said the beatles didnt write any of their material, or play any of their instruments. I'm not a beatles fan so i wouldn't know. But you guys do so help me out.

yeah i saw that on new years day at about 3 am once!

it was really good - my dad even has the soundtrack!

Did you know that john lennon's death was exactly 24 years before Dimebag Darrell's death?

No, that is in no way true. Each member played their own intruments and they wrote most of their own songs. They did play some covers though. The beatles were some of the best songwriters ever.

Your friend knows nothing about The Beatles then.

He was spaaming the community thread.

morrissey 12-09-2004 04:03 PM

No, he asked to be temporarily banned.. he thought it was a cool idea.

Woodstock 12-09-2004 06:16 PM

What should I get, the new John Lennon Acoustic CD or the Plastic Ono Band?

morrissey 12-09-2004 06:22 PM

I would go with the John Lennon CD... or get both ;)

Woodstock 12-09-2004 06:27 PM

They're both John Lennon. ;)

Seafroggys 12-09-2004 07:16 PM

Plastic Ono Band!

Oh yeah, that Imagine documentary is awesome. It came out like 15 years ago....I saw it Freshman year (senior now). My favorite part has gotta be when John cusses the hell out of Phil Spector. That was funny.

DeusExMachina 12-09-2004 09:25 PM

Definitely the John Lennon acoustic CD. I really wanna get that...

morrissey 12-09-2004 11:57 PM
They're both John Lennon. ;)
haha I know... I forgot to type acoustic.. please forgive me

clown_phobia 12-10-2004 01:05 AM

i think i prefer the original Let it be (song)

Woodstock 12-10-2004 02:14 PM

Ok, Deus says I should get the Acoustic one, and Seafroggy's says I should get Plastic Ono Band.

I know most of the songs off Plastic Ono Band so I'm leaning more towards the Acoustic.

DeusExMachina 12-10-2004 03:01 PM

Well, you should get both eventually. But I would suggest acoustic first. I haven't actually heard it yet, but I'm told its amazing.

Walrus Gumboot 12-10-2004 09:27 PM

Go for the one you haven't heard yet, definatly, the ones you have heard will bore you soon and you will end up with the acoustic one anyway. I only have "Working Class Hero" off plastic ono (I think thats what its off)

Does anyone have Sometime In New York City by (who else) "The" Lennon? I got it after looking quite extensivly, and was wondering if anyone else has it or what they think of it

Here is waht I think: Where do they get off selling it as a double for double the price? the live album was free... Lennon wanted it to be free, obviously! :bitches:

Woodstock 12-11-2004 10:11 AM

Record companies always seem to be ripping you off. But my parents say that it was about this equal in the 60's when records were 2 bucks.

DeusExMachina 12-11-2004 12:55 PM

****ed record companies. I didn't know that the album existed, but I should look into it.

xxxRoCkJuNkiExxx 12-11-2004 08:05 PM

does anyone know when the Imagine documentary that was being talked about before is going to air again? do I have to wait until next year?

DeusExMachina 12-11-2004 08:36 PM

I have no clue. Maybe you can get hold of it at a video store or something?

Broken Arrow 12-11-2004 08:55 PM

So Beatles albums are expensive?

I agree!
