I'm not overly fond of Polyphonic Spree.
On another not, vote www.jammys.com ! |
Thanks JPJ I never even knew about that.
I picked up Thicker Than Water today, it's a really cool album, Jack and all them are so cool. |
Great news for me! Gov't Mule is playing April 13th here, I'm excited for that. I've recently had a sudden love for a lot of the Band's material.

Anyopne heard of The Slip?

There recorded stuff is much more interesting, mainly because most of their live bootlegged stuff lacks there best line up. Phil Lesh John Molo Rob Barraco Jimmy Herring Warren Haynes Fantastic line up. Herring and Barraco make it for me. |
what do you guys think about dick's picks? what are good ones to get, i dont have much live dead.
|
everybody vote at www.jammys.com. Make sure your favorite jam band wins
|
 Look up a few posts...
I saw Mule last night, :thumb: Words cannot describe. |

Funky Meters aren't really a Jam Band. And Jack Johnson and Karl Denson are arguable.

Jack Johnson live or on stuff like Thicker than Water and September Sessions pretty much label him as a jam band.
|

Yea, cause it is always about labels... Hootie & The Blowfish were also labeled a Jam Band. ;) |

I'm saying labels don't really mean much, but believe what you want. Either way, Jack Johnson is at least close to a Jam artists. |
awhile ago i mentioned blue floyd, the pink floyd blues cover band headed by the lateallen woody, with the guitarist from the black crowes and matt abts on drums. i just found out they are back with a new singer. If anyone is in the southeast Pa/ east jersey area you should come check them out at the Pink Floyd fest.
EDIT: berry oakley is in the band also |
Black Crowes guitarists: Rich Robinson, Audley Freed, etc
And I strongly doubt Berry Oakley is in that band. It'd be a little hard for him. |
More Jam Bands
I'd also like to add a few bands to the list:
Greyspoke Variety The Breakfast Jerry Garcia Band Derek Trucks Band EkoostiK Hookah Max Creek Dark Star Orchestra Tea Leaf Green If a couple of these were mentioned earlier, my apologies but I don't recall them being named. |

I saw moe. last night. They were frickin sweet. It was the first time I had seen them. Excellent show.
|
My friend got me hooked on Sound Tribe Sector 9, I don't really like them too well but they're ok. I perfer DJ Logic over them.

Yeah I don't believe in labels either. I saw Sountribe Sector 9 live at Toad's they put on a great live show. |
How did none of us mention Jimi Hendrix, the Grateful Dead or Phish?
|
1.) Jimi Hendrix is not a Jam Band.
2.) You're wrong. We mentioned both of those numerous amounts of times. |
how is Jimi Hendrix not a Jam Band? Have you ever listened to his live stuff? Do yourself a favor and check out some of the streamable shows on sugarmegs.org
As far as the GD/Phish thing, i was referring to the question posed on the previous page, and missed it in the wrap text, my apologies |
