I'm really into Cursive at the moment. I only just got The Ugly Organ and it is brilliant. Thanks to Tapeworm for turning me onto them. :thumb:
Worrrrrrrrrrrd up. I have found a leaked version of the new The Faint album 'Wet From Birth'. It is amazing. |
really listenin to alot of Muse-absolution
the black keys hawthorne heights modest mouse thursday "terrible ted" tesla and of course RUSH |
Whats wrong with No Doubt?
I think it depends on the song. Some of their songs have been badly, badly overplayed, and those aren't fun to get into your head. |
Muse
Black Sabbath Pantera |
I'm really getting into Muse at the moment, but I only have Absolution. What album of theirs should I get next? Origin of Symmetry?
Get Showbiz . It's my favourite Muse album by far. Origin of Symmetry Has some really good tracks, but it also has a few weaker ones, and Showbiz is a better album overall ... by far. |
My fav. bands right now are... The Killer, love them, songs include Mr. Brightside, Somebody Told Me, Jenny was a friend of mine... Metric, yes i know their cd has been out for a bit but i just got into them, songs include Combat Baby, Succexy, Wet Blanket....

Personally, The Mars Volta have been what i've been listenin to mostly. I bought De-Loused in the Comatorium and i LOVE it. Its a ****ing fantastc album, and i love the way it all just flows together. Jet and Franz Ferdinand have been up there too, and so have Turin Brakes, and reckon everyone should check out all of the following albums:
The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium Jet - Get Born Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand Turin Brakes - Ether Song |
Bleach (the classic $600 Nirvana album, on which they didn't even get Cobain's name right)

Thanks for that... Past couple of days I've checked out: The Dance Disaster Movement, and they are cool. I'd rather listen to Gang of Four or !!!, but they are a decent enough band. The Dismemberment Plan. Cool band. I like their approach to music, it's refreshing. I've also rediscovered Fiery Furnaces. Their new one, Blueberry Boat is great. It's like Gallowsbird Bark (?) but improved on the weaker areas. Tighter songwriting, better craftsmanship and they've extended alot of the songs, a couple little rock-opera's in there. I definately recommend it. |
I've been into Snakefinger, Gang Of Four, Franz Ferdinand, Sonic Youth (I just bought the DVD yesterday and I love it), and Bad Brains is what is currently taking up my stereo's airwaves.

A little bit, yeah.....who am I kidding. Alot. |
I'm thinking of picking up Blueberry Boat. I've seen nothing but praise.
Anyways, what I've been listening to: *I have Singles by the Smiths, so now I'm getting all the albums. I love Meat is Murder ("Headmaster Ritual" is their best song ever) but The Queen is Dead is disappointing. Aside from the title track, the only other good songs on the album are already on Singles, so there's no point. *Laughing Stock by Talk Talk is amazing (props to nosferatu_man). It's similar to Sigur Ros as far as long, minimalist, orchestral songs, but with more emphasis on the vocals. *Peace Love Death Metal by the Eagles of Death Metal is pretty good, but I can't figure out if it's legitimate or a guilty pleasure. *I dug out my copy of Let it Be by the Replacements, loved it again, got Tim and Pleased to Meet Me, and loved them too. Everyone needs to check out the Replacements; Paul Westerberg was one of the most brilliant 80's alternative songwriters.
It's a very legit album. It's just not as serious as you expect it to be, thats why I love it. That's the appeal. It's good time music, it's not very challenging but thats what's great about it... To me anyway. Oh yeah, definately check Blueberry Boat out, it is superb. Close to top album of the year for me. |
^^^
I think it's a great fun, feelgood album. I often listen to the cover of "Stuck In The Middle With You" in the car. My Mum loves it. I've been into U2 lately after watching their DVD. I've also gotten back into the Smashing Pumpkins alot after seeing their videos DVD. |
I've been into the Dillinger Escape Plan lately..Because of their new cd..yay!
|
I've been into Refused lately. And some old Hives.
|
Hi, this is my first post.
Anyway, I just got MBV's Loveless and I've listened to it 15 times in 4 days. It's just that good. I also picked up the new album by the Cure which is pretty good and Absolution which is also awesome, but I like Origin of Symmetry and Showbiz better. |

|
Checked out The Replacements.
So far I've found them over-hyped, but good nonetheless. |
They're only overhyped because of me :p
Yargh, 'tis true. |
I've been listening to Elliot Smith a lot after buying the Good Will Hunting soundtrack, where he appears a lot.
|
To encompase the range, I've been digging Evol, most anything by Dinosaur Jr., Electric Ladyland, Agharta, On the Corner, and I really like Kid A.
The Walkmen
Yeah Yeah Yeah's Sonic Youth Caesars The White Stripes They Might Be Giants Steely Dan The Mars Volta Coldplay Beck Queens Of The Stone Age Zwan
one small suggestion though, not to knock your choices, but try to focus on one or two at a time first to truly appreciate each one. dealing with that many bands youre sure to miss something each one has to offer. |
I'm listening to alot of dEUS and Trail Of Dead...two great alternative rock bands.
Other great stuff is Motorpsycho...people are really missing out on this band...check out "The Golden Core". Also.... ... Damien Rice! The Professor is my new favorite song of his...I'm only listening to it for the first time. Wow. |
Opeth
Yeah, I'm finally starting to dig death metal. |
Hoggboy.
Good garage rock band. |
