I play in a band.

I used to, anyway.

Now I do VOCALS in a band.

I CAN SING LOL.

No I can't.

But, for some reason, people want me to do it for their bands...so...whatevz.

I sing like Jesse sort of. Idk. I'm weird. :amaze:

bottlerocket 11-27-2006 04:57 PM

Yeah, I used to play guitar in the band, too, but I had to stop 'cuz of my wrist.

I like playing guitar better if I'm singing in the band but if I just play an instrument, bass or die. \m/

I find guitar A LOT easier to play while singing, mainly because, on bass, I walk and do a lot of fills and runs and sync up with the drummer. It's tough to sing, groove, and sync with a drummer simultaneously.

I'd find bass pretty easy to sing and play but only if it's basic root notes.

B 11-27-2006 05:00 PM

i sing wells

Jessizzle 11-27-2006 05:06 PM

i sing GREAT
hahaha no i dont
but that dosnt stop me
muhaha

Neoteric 11-27-2006 05:09 PM

In a rock band, you don't really need such a great voice, just good stage presence imo.

Like I can't sing at all but I am great on stage and I can get a crowd going.

B 11-27-2006 05:24 PM

i have sexy stage presence do i count

Neoteric 11-27-2006 05:26 PM
i have sexy stage presence do i count
Well yeah, you're allowed to show some flesh on stage :)

Nah, my tendon/ligament were severed to the bone in an accident with a utility blade. My bone was popping out and stuff. Nasty scar right now.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d38/GavPlaysBass/wrist.jpg

That's the stitches in (I have 14, 7 biodegradable ones on the bottom at the base of the skin/bone and 7 on the top. They needed to double it over to keep the wound closed it was so deep).

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d38/GavPlaysBass/wriststitches.jpg

That's it right after the stitches came out and about a week to a week and a half of healing.

The scar is really ugly.

Neoteric 11-27-2006 05:30 PM

Ouch man, that seems sore. It must suck not being able to do the thing you love because of an accident. I'd really hate for that to happen to me.

bottlerocket 11-27-2006 05:35 PM

Welcome to my life for the past...3 months or so.

It sucks because I'm a devout bassist and passionate singer/songwriter on guitar. I had an acoustic solo side project going.

All my music writing has been on haitus since my accident, save for vocal work and lyrics.

Neoteric 11-27-2006 05:37 PM

I would have been driven mad by now.

So is there any chance you'll be able to play a bass again?

bottlerocket 11-27-2006 05:50 PM

The doctors said fat chance but I'm resting it.

I've tried and it hurt like complete and utter hell; imagine this sharp, deep, burning sensation of sheer pain going up and down your entire arm, circling around your fretting wrist, and extending into your thumb.

Yeah...it felt like my wrist was on fire a while ago.

Now, it's not nearly as painful but it still hurts like hell.

Neoteric 11-27-2006 05:52 PM

Ohhh... that does indeed sound awful. Maybe you should give it a couple of years, in my personal experience, doctors aren't always right but then again, you don't want to mess your wrist up even more.

bottlerocket 11-27-2006 06:21 PM

You should've seen it in real life.

The scar now is gross, too. I'll take a pic once I get a camera.

Jessizzle 11-27-2006 06:23 PM

onoez, jess

Well, Jess, now that I'm not so busy, I guess we can finally get married, since you've been nagging me for the past...10 years now. :(

cbmartinez 11-27-2006 06:34 PM

Today, me and my friends rolled through Trenton (like in the top 20 for most dangerous cities) blasting "Hit Em Up." These niggaz rolled up next to us and were laughing and singing along. My boy Matt put in his 300 dollar grill and we was rollin'.

Yeah, it's Smoke or Fire.

But really, such a f'ucking good album. It's so strange, though, because it's just like generic pop punk, but it's so good at the same time. I can't even explain it.

Edit: Rofl, Wonder Showzen locations ftw.
