I'm just glad I didn't go there in the summer, because it was cooking in October.
It's cause you're from Canada and you're used to the cold. It's freezing here for me. :(

robo2448 12-05-2005 07:01 PM

I went to Disneyland two summers ago. I'm a summer kind of guy, I hate the cold. Ugh this afternoon was tough, running track in the snow...

I'm actually not a big fan of rides, but I liked Disneyland, it was pretty fun.

np- Eric Clapton- Little Wing (this is such a freaking awesome cover)

blue3 12-05-2005 07:20 PM

I hate the cold too. I went to Disneyland this summer, it was cool. It's not really a ride place, I spent most my time waiting in the line ups, which sucked alot.

NP: George Harrison - Run So Far

*bump*

So does anyone here like the J. Geils Band? Just thought I'd bring it up since I've been listening to Blow Your Face Out recently.

I like Centrefold, but that's about it.

I've been listening to Heart lately.

jpj 12-05-2005 08:09 PM
im really getting into dragonforce even though they have nothing to do with this thread. i just thought you giuys should know.
I like them too, one of the first metal bands I liked. They get old kinda fast though because it can be pretty repetitive. I still haven't heard their new album.

Broken Arrow 12-05-2005 08:35 PM

Wow, so many events.

1.Neil Young
2.Pink Floyd
3.Jimi Hendrix
4.Grateful Dead
5.The Beatles
6.The Doors
7.Bob Dylan
8.Death From Above 1979
9.Quicksilver Messenger Service
10.John Lee Hooker

That's how I feel right now.

I was at a bookstore and found a double disc of Hendrix rarities today. It had the stuff he did with Morrison, the stuff he did with Johnny Youngblood(I think thats his name) and other stuff like his Cream covers and Red House with the Crossroads-like shuffle. It has a short cool version of Hendrix playing the vocal line to "Tomorrow Never Knows" with Jim yelling mindlessly in the background.

Other Essential albums I bought today. (brackets are what I used to own them in)

Highway 61 Revisted(Mp3)
Aoxomoxa(viynl)
Rubber Soul(Mp3)
Greendale(Mp3)

It was a good day.

Anyways about Schmya, not like its too late already. He already did this once before you know. Talked about school and drugs and being grounded and said he was leaving. The funny thing was he back like a couple days later, he'll cool off.

I like Eric Clapton because I like Cream/.

magicbus 12-05-2005 08:42 PM

I really like Jethro Tull. It's to the point where I wish I could call them one of my favorite bands, but I don't know enough about their music to do so. I only have Aqualung, and I've heard some of Thick As a Brick, but that's it. The music is so relaxing, I'm diggin' it large.

jpj 12-05-2005 08:46 PM

If you like the more progressive stuff Aqualung and Thich as a Brick are about as good as they get, but there first three albums (This Was, Stand Up, and Benefit) are all great for some blues rock + a flute.

I'm always up for some of that too. I'll probably check those out next.

Because I'll be here typing a paper all night, I'm down if anybody wants to do an AIM chat. Although it'll probably be destined for failure.

jpj 12-05-2005 08:49 PM

I can't, going to bed soon.

Broken Arrow 12-05-2005 08:49 PM

I used to like Aqualung but not so much anymore. It sounds like Medeival Music.

I'm a fan of songs like Song for Jeffery and Bouree.

jpj 12-05-2005 08:51 PM
It sounds like Medeival Music.
That's why it's awesome. I was listening to Broadsword & The Beast at one of those listening station things at F.Y.E., and it sounded like the deformed bastard child of secular Renaissance music and 80's rock.

Krabsworth 12-05-2005 08:54 PM

Isn't Schyma only 15? How much crap has managed to get himself in at such a young age?

jpj 12-05-2005 08:59 PM
Isn't Schyma only 15? How much crap has managed to get himself in at such a young age?
Let's just say he takes after his musical idol (Syd Barrett if you didn't already know).

Krabsworth 12-05-2005 09:02 PM

Pffttt...what the hell? What instrument does he play?

Lunch 12-05-2005 09:08 PM

Am I too late for the list?

1. The Who
2. Grateful Dead
3. Cream
4. The Allman Brothers
5. Bob Dylan
6. Pink Floyd
7. The Kinks
8. Jethro Tull
9. Spirit
10. Ten Years After

Really after the top spot it alternates between bands and phases I get into.

robo2448 12-05-2005 09:16 PM

10. Ten Years After
Nice. I'm listening to Ssssh right now. Alvin Lee owns, such a great blues-guitarist.

np- I Woke Up This Morning

The solo in this song is amazing. Alvin Lee is definitely up there with my favorite guitarists ever.

Jacaranda 12-05-2005 09:21 PM

I'll just do top 10 bands of all time.
1. Rolling Stones
1. Jane's Addiction
2. AFI
3. David Bowie
4. Joy Division
5. Velvet Underground
6. Sonic Youth
7. The Who
8. U2
9. Dead Kennedys/Smiths/Crystal Method

MBS 12-05-2005 09:27 PM
WTF?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!questionmark exclamation point
They're good, but I dunno about one of my ten favorite bands ever.

And I'm glad someone else here likes The Smiths.

MBS 12-05-2005 09:52 PM

I haven't heard much of The Smiths.

*cough*uploadsomething*cough* :)

Illmatic 12-05-2005 10:01 PM

I can't do a top 10 because I would have to split it up among hip-hop and rock/jazz/whatever

Krabsworth 12-05-2005 10:02 PM
I can't do a top 10 because I would have to split it up among hip-hop and rock/jazz/whatever
So? I did

MBS 12-05-2005 10:16 PM

Hey Lunch, how far away do you live from DC?

Edit: Vote Buckley in the vocalists poll. Now.

Danger Bird 12-05-2005 11:34 PM

Hey, I'm looking for Wake Up... It's Tomorrow or any other Strawberry Alarm Clock albums. If you can help me out, send it to BPMead007@aol.com

Seafroggys 12-06-2005 01:13 AM

I might as well post my list of favorites:

1. The Beatles/John Lennon
2. The Who
3. Cream
4. Deep Purple
5. Jethro Tull
6. Hendrix Experience
7. Emerson Lake and Palmer
8. Metallica
9. Black Sabbath
10. Blue Oyster Cult

meh 6 on is kinda iffy, but the first 5 is very accurate.....I put Lennon with The Beatles just because in my head I just put all the solo stuff in with THe Beatles' material

Leper 12-06-2005 01:36 AM

I really didn't dig Ssssh that much at first, though it's rare for me to really get into an album on the first listen, so I'll definitely have to give it another chance.

Thanks to your guys recommendations, I'm slowly but surely becoming a Grateful Dead fan. One thing I noticed about them though, and it might just be me, but the vocals sound kind of unstable at times, almost as though Garcia is about to cry...like I said, that might just be me.

Krabsworth 12-06-2005 06:30 AM

I just have a compilation by them, and I like it alot.
