I'd choose Ska over your nutty Folk-Punk any day.

Pfft, Minutemen. I only remotely like them because they wrote the theme to Jackass.

sketchyjoe 12-22-2005 05:42 PM

Folk-punk > Ska-Punk > Post-punk

This is an intelligent man.

KingOfSka 12-22-2005 05:46 PM

I can understand that you guys don't like the genre, but saying something like "Ska sucks" is just stupid. You can't make a statement like that, bashing an entire genre.

Do you guys have any idea how hard it is to write a good horn riff? It's fine if you don't like ska, but respect them for being musicians.

It was a joke in 1993 and it's a joke now. The fact that diehard ska fans haven't got it yet just makes it funnier.

pedro durruti 12-22-2005 05:50 PM

Roll with the punches

ThisUserIsAPipebomb 12-22-2005 05:50 PM
I like it better than Overcompentsating, I have never laughed at that comic.
The only comics I've ever laughed out loud at are Perry Bible Fellowship and Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal. The rest I just read for story and the occasionaly smile.

Bashing genres is for fags.

Ska is good.

Minutemen are good.

The only joke regarding Ska I've heard in the past while is this one...
Folk-punk > Ska-Punk > Post-punk
Should be more like; Ska-Punk > Post-Punk > Folk-Punk

Even after he tells you a joke, you still feel neccesarry to insult his taste. What is up with people and doing that.

I really don't like post-punk that much, it always feels very empty and detached to me.

sketchyjoe 12-22-2005 05:54 PM

He's covering up his embarassment at missing the joke by going on the offenseive.

Ska-punk = Catchy but often repetitive and boring
Post-punk = Interesting but often avant-garde and boring
Folk-punk = Catchy, interesting, passionate and exciting
Yes I can:

Let's all just settle down, the brain is very complex and there's nothing we can do about it

Personally I think ska-punk is less repetitive than folk-punk and I think they both have just as much passion and excitement.

My shift key is sticky. IT always does that.

And your typo seemed to involve missing out several words.

There is no grammatical mistake in that post. It was a colloquial rhetorical question. There was a stray apostrophe in the one before but the one you quoted had nothing wrong with it.

Still, only a typo. Just like yours, no matter if your shift key is sticky or not.

sketchyjoe 12-22-2005 06:05 PM
Still, only a typo. Just like yours, no matter if your shift key is sticky or not.
A typo is a slip of the hand, missing out several words is a slip of the brain. Have you been drinking? I know I have.

Touche. That was a fast edit.

sketchyjoe 12-22-2005 06:08 PM

Let's stop this silly business and agree that The Rudiments, Mischief Brew and The Minutemen all rock.

I just finished a bottle of vodka that I found in the back of my cupboard.

pedro durruti 12-22-2005 06:08 PM

I think we can all agree on that. What's the difference between Mischief Brew and Erik Peterson again?

ThisUserIsAPipebomb 12-22-2005 06:08 PM
A typo is a slip of the hand, missing out several words is a slip of the brain. Have you been drinking? I know I have.
So I paused to think out my sentence and continued without thinking. I don't understand how that is anymore serioius of an offense than slipping on your finger. Neither of us went back to fix it before we posted.
Let's stop this silly business and agree that The Rudiments, Mischief Brew and The Minutemen all rock.
Dang. I wish I knew who Mischief Brew were, and I'm listening to Rudiments at this very moment.

sketchyjoe 12-22-2005 06:09 PM

My sentence was understandable. Yours I had to think about. And the cupboard vodka didn't help with that.

Cupboard vodka rules! It's almost as good as winter coat money.

ThisUserIsAPipebomb 12-22-2005 06:10 PM

I don't like drinking alone.

sketchyjoe 12-22-2005 06:12 PM

Neither do I but I just found a half-finished bottle and waste not, want not.

pedro durruti 12-22-2005 06:14 PM

I'm not above drinking alone, but no good ever comes of it

sketchyjoe 12-22-2005 06:15 PM

No permanent good ever comes of it.

ThisUserIsAPipebomb 12-22-2005 06:16 PM

Does permenant good ever come of regular drinking?

Also, it seems like just the other day I got 1000 posts.

I continue to like Homestar runner.

Drinking alone is pretty weak.

Just as bad as getting drunk alone then getting on the internet to celebrate it....

Somebody's jealous of my cupboard vodka. And I'm not drunk. There wasn't much left. I've just got a slight buzz on.

I am going into the city tomorrow and going to the best anarchist book store!

I'm excited, but I can't find anyone to go with.
