Surely if youre bad at games then a guide wont help. If you suck at them then you suck at them. Doesnt help knowing where pickups and stuff are surely?
54 should be ok for C then methinks. |
Just use the thickest strings you can find. Its the only way to be awesome.
See: SRV Also - Semi serious advice. If I could use 14's without breaking my fingers, I would. At the moment I'm finding that 11's are my electric guitar limit. Hopefully my fingers will get strong enough for 12's soon. |
What tuning are you using?
I think 12-54 will be fine for C standard, i'll order some tonight. |
Nah, I'm bad at timing/noticing things.
If a guide tells me to stand in the corner to avoid phantom ganons electric blasts then shoot him with the fairy bow, I can do that. I probably wouldn't have noticed where to stand/what weapon to use otherwise. But anyways. Just made a nice little ring flash adaption for under £5 for my ancient but excellent camera. Here's two pics and the link to the Photography thread where I go into more detail. Just seems like going through the motions and pressing buttons like a monkey. I hate using guides. |
Cheers for the metaphor AG, you make a fair point. I'll just hold out for now and get a new comp when the time comes. It's not under-performing at the moment (unlike your dad lololololol) but I'm about to get Izotope Ozone 4 which is pretty CPU-intensive. Should be ok though.

the mind taker! but guides are cool, i like to run through the game as a whole once or twice (depending on the games length) then run through with a guide. if the game is huge enough like fallout three you still experience new gameplay even with the guide, well i have been anyway. i just explore my *** of fand when i go into a building ive never been in i open up the guide to see whats in there to see if its worth it at all |

But sitting with it on your lap hitting buttons and reading what happens/what to do seconds before you do it just seems utterly pointless to me. |
I dont think i finished a game without cheat codes until i got a PS2. Just cause i was at the age where i couldnt fully appreciate what was happening anyway.

Play the game and enjoy it, it seems more of a chore to follow a guide than discover things yourself. Especially if it's an RPG/plot-based, guide's take out all the drama |
Currently playing Dead Space and I just cannot see the appeal of playing it if I knew what items were in every room, what enemies were next door, what scripted events were gonna happen etc. Takes away the whole point of playing and experiencing the game. Otherwise just seems like youre doing it to be able to tick the box next to "played that game".
And if youre just **** at computer games then no matter how many FAQ/walkthroughs you read it aint gonna help when you cant aim for **** or cant master movement at all. |
Dead Space was pretty good, upgrading seemed pointless though. It's almost like the enemies abilities / strength =/= your upgrades.
Just wait till you start encountering the dude you can't kill :D |
my cam died
6 year old sony cam if goodness gone.................. i have to get sony replacment, this cam went into 4 continents, 343343434 countries..... man we had a goood run |

Are you talking about the regenerator from chapter 4? the one you have to cryofreeze? (If not then dont ruin it for me please) I'm on chapter 10 atm. |
I played the intro to Dead Space and hated the camera angle/interface so put it back in the box, never to be seen again.
|
I just went to go play it but it's not installed
fuk |
that phenomenon has killed a number of games for me. Such a simple thing as well, a camera angle.
|

The camera angles and interfae are brilliant; they really add to the atmosphere and feel of the game. |
I remember with the Legacy of Kain series, the camera and controls ruined it.
|
It's strange, Dead Space and Resi 4 have the same sort of cam angle, but Resi 4 is such an awesome game and easy to play, and Dead Space was not.
|
I stopped playing Resi 2 because I couldn't see feck all. FF games were also majorly annoying for that.
|

RE4 camera is a bit highter and further out, the one in Dead Space is like, perched on a stick attached to Isaac's shoulder. |
RE4 was a quality game. I still havnt completed Dead Space. It scares me too much.....
|
I'm not a fan of scary games. I never completed Resi 4 because it was too scary.
|
I really don't think computer games are for you, dude.
|

lol really It has nothing on Resident Evil 2 The Silent Hill series are legendary too, minus 5 and somewhat 4 |

you must be a girl |
Haha I remember playing Silent Hill one with my screen set to black and white with all the lights out in the house. Me and my mate were a bit scared to say the least.
|
I loved the original Silent Hill and Resi games. Just go to show that you dont need all the high powered flashyness of the new consoles to create atmosphere.
P.S if anyone in here uses Voxengo Boogex can someone help me out and go to the Home Recording thread. |
Did you have the seed planted as a kid?
I'm playing through this then gonna do Twilight Princess with an online guide, to 100% it.
hahah... i was still at the part where Link was a kid. dodongo's cavern* to answer jakylons. |
Janoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
Yeah, I'm half dead from working -- again -- over the weekend so that entertained me.
I loved the original Silent Hill and Resi games.
RE games = Ace Original Silent Hill = PLEASE LET ME RUN! I don't remember if I actually finished the original Silent Hill, but man did I hate walking every where. I actually don't think I played another Silent Hill game simply because I was too pissed at the first one. |
I am a bit of a girl really.
|
I remember playing Silent Hill 2 so much on my PS2; the run into town at the start was soooooooooooo long.
|
The atmosphere those game built up before you even encountered anything was incredible.
|
The real genius of Silent Hill was that bloody radio. Whoever thought of having an audio warning rather than a visual one was a genius.
|
Was quite good how you could avoid most encounters by turning off your light and radio.
