well considering she's a virgin, and doesn't do drugs, i don't see how she would have gotten it. |

Why the hell should I or anyone else listen to someone less articulate and insightful than a toddler? |
uh tbh how would you have any possible way of knowing how articulate or insightful i could be you have no clue you have to admit that much
|
Damn, it seems like there's always this battle between these two opposing thoughts towards sex that goes on in my head(not that head). But anyway, it goes like this: There's the hormonal part of me that wants to bang hot chicks that I don't really care for emotionally. Then there's the emotional and intellectual side of me that wants to find a great woman that I really care for and connect with and possibly make love with.
The thing is, I don't know which side to take because I haven't experienced either. And since I haven't experienced either, I don't know which side is better. But since they're opposing sides you can't really tackle both these approaches simultaneously(that would be cheating). I guess the things that hold me back from the reality of randomly banging hot chicks is the fact that I'm scared of STDs and the fact that I'm not out going. This leaves me with the other option - finding a great woman that I care for. I think this is the better option. And I see that the negatives (my fears and me not being out going) are going to lead me to a better fate. So that makes me question whether they are actually negatives... And I'm also questioning the fact that IF I was out going and not afraid of STDs would I still have the same ideals... I think I've gone crazy here, haha. |
I see your point.
I feel there's some larger issue involved in some way. But pinning it down is easier said than done. I guess in part it's the male ego. We never want to admit we're wrong. And then there's the "beauty and the beast" concept that women are told from a young age that they can change the bad boys. I don't know. I'll probably never figure it out, which is probably why it ends up bugging me the way it does every so often.
I know, it bugs me, too. And I just want to choke the mothers who have taught their daughters "You can change him", because, in fact, you can't. Everyone wants the American Dream; to be happily married and have great kids, etc. Everyone who can't face reality, that is. I have no girlfriends who have not had their significant others leave them to support their kids by themselves. No child support, nothing. I also have no guyfriends who have had that happen to them. That tells me something. One of the reasons that I never had kids was because I KNEW it would end up like that. And, that was a struggle I was not up to. |

Based on the fact that you have thus far shown all of the wit, intelligence, and judgment of a retarded jellyfish, I can safely say that I am mentally superior to you. Which is always themselves. And the people they surround themselves with. But it starts with themselves. I mean, how many people are in jail at the moment, blaming everyone else for the crimes they committed. |

You know what's scary? I've met people in real life who were genuinely like this. That seemed more likely to me as most gimmick accounts around here seldom last more than a week. Gimmick or not, these people are still my free entertainment. They want attention, so I give it to them and get a few laughs at the same time. Everybody wins! I'll get the booze. :chug: |

Whether I know or not is irrelevent. I still act the same way regardless: goad him into saying something that will make me laugh. The inescapable fact is whether he's a troll or just stupid, he exists to provide me with entertainment. |

Steerpike, you don't have AIM or AOL, do you?

I have AIM, but I seldom use it. It's so annoying.

K so this is one of my problems lately. I have found out that i am a very insecure person. Is there anything i can do about this? I really want to fix this problem. Thanks much.
K so this is one of my problems lately. I have found out that i am a very insecure person. Is there anything i can do about this? I really want to fix this problem. Thanks much.
I was like this for a long time. The only way to stop being insecure is to be content with yourself, and then you can reach out to others. It takes time to figure out where you stand in life, but draw back from social interactions for a little while and figure out what you want and over time if you take everything as it comes and stand true to yourself you'll build confidence. Been there, done that trust me :) |
I don't know how to fix that problem. Just try not to worry as much.
|

I have a similar problem. So it's hard to give advice but i realise now that you should listen to those people who care about you and tell you that you are a great person. As hard as it sounds you have to think back to something that may have caused this insecurity (seeing as you said youve just realised). Maybe by knowing the problem or event it can be fixed or improved much easier. |
You also need to push your comfort zone. If social interaction is a problem, then start out by just going up to people you know casually with the goal that you can have a short conversation with them, and leave with them thinking you're cool. All you have to do is greet them, ask a question like what they're up to, give a quick response, and then say you need to get going.
Compare your progress only to yourself. Furthermore, you need to take up some hobbies and do some work that you can take pride in. For example, cooking. That's a great hobby that you can learn very quickly and get immediate results from. I reccommend you pick up Rachel Ray's cookbook "Guy Food." All the recipes in there look complex, but are designed for beginners and are great for a variety of different situations. |
Ok I didnt read all 226 pages of this topic so dont have a go if I dont continue from whetever you guys are talking about, however keeping within the topics name here is my problem.
There is this girl i sit near in most of my classes I really like her and we get on quite well. However I would like to take our friendship up to the next level but I am unsure how. We flirt a lot but I cant be sure that this means she likes me like that as she flirts with many other guys aswell. Could anybody give advice as to how to get her to like me in the way that I mean or how to know whether or not she likes me. Thanx RM |

If she doesnt, she doesnt and theres no much you can do. Ask her to come out with you and a bunch of friends one night, or by yourself. Get to know her better than just in school. If she says no off the bat, then you'll know she isnt intersted from the get-go. If she says yes, see how it goes. Dont come on too strong and just take it casual to begin with. If it feels likes something, go with your gut instinct. Trust yourself to make the right decisions. |

Ha ha ha...that's me right there. Don't sweat it. I don't. Well OK I do, but it doesn't bother me to the point that it's bothering you. Besides, Buddhists are supposed to renounce the things of this world, sex included. |

[Broken record]Stop having such a defeatist attitude, man.[/Broken record] I don't sweat it, either. When the time comes, then so be it. But you can't force these things, or else you're not going to have very good experiences, sexual or otherwise. |
@purplefeet thanx that sounds like a good idea I will give it a try.

So the girl I like has a boyfriend, the usual crap. I've posted here about this before. But last Saturday, my friends and I went to the movies and she was there. Her boyfriend was also there with us. During the movie, she sat in between me and her boyfriend but she didn't talk to her boyfriend at all. I just made lame jokes during the crappy parts of the movie and she laughed. After the movie, we walked around the mall. I walked next to her and her boyfriend walked next to his best friend (who is a dude by the way). We talked and laughed a lot. She invited me to see Superman Returns this weekend when we were talking. After the mall, we waited for our rides and she sat next to her boyfriend. Just on Monday, I found out that her boyfriend is going out of the country for a month. What the hell dude? Her boyfriend goes out of the country and she asks me to go the movies with her. I think we're going alone too. Is this weird or am I desperately overlooking this?

Desperately overlooking it. She probably just wants to see the movie with someone and that someone happens to be you. Just today I got invited to a gig with this girl who has a boyfriend and I have a girlfriend and her boyfriend cant make it because he's working and my girlfriend doesnt like the band but it doesnt mean that the reason she invited me was because she wants hot hot sex with me :P |

If you're pretty good friends with her anyway- it's probably completely innocent. The way you CAN find out if it is though is to ask if her boyfriend knows. |
just assume she wants to be bent over by you
If a woman says she's "still on the market" it means that guy did nothing for her. Perhaps she did initiate things. But he was so bad at it that he struck the hell out.
Just stay casual about it. "Hey, I was going to head out to grab a coffee tomorrow. Join me." Did you ever watch the movie Office Space? The way Peter approached Joanna after his "liberating" hypno-therapy session is a little goofy, but that's the sort of thing women want to see. They want a guy who's bold enough to go straight for it, but when she says, "Maybe," he shrugs and goes ahead with the plan to eat out anyway with or without her, and when she says, "No," he answers with, "Your loss," and goes ahead with his plans without her. The whole "Next!" idea is extremely liberating. If you learn to embrace that in the dating scene, you will go very far.
Aw man, I forgot to mention I only have 4 days to ask her out. And I don't like coffee. ;) I think I'll just invite her to see a movie. |
