I'm fine with your opinion, but if you don't mind, why?

Yeah... anybody?

DirtyQuebec6969 09-03-2005 09:00 PM

Dark Side of the Forum? Hah, that's clever.

About as clever as Ashlee Simpson.

As for Pink Floyd, they're just about as clever as Dark Side of the Forum.

Which is... as I said before, about as clever as Ashlee Simpson.

...or maybe they're in the same league as B2K

...

By the way, I think "Us and Them" is the worst song ever written.

courtney_killed_kurt 09-03-2005 10:30 PM

does anybody have any reviews about The Wall the movie?

i thought it was pretty crazy but I've heard it makes more sense when you're stoned.

BigTrav415 09-03-2005 10:51 PM

Meh, the album is better, but the movie is one of the best album-movies out there. In a very limited genre. I've never been stoned before, so I wouldn't know. Nor do I plan too.

adioviva 09-03-2005 11:05 PM

Did any of you ever hear the song money, i like the bass line

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-03-2005 11:23 PM

Have I heard the song Money? Of course! I'm sure we all have, as it is probably one of their top five biggest hits. Not one of my personal faves, but a very sweet bass line, and also a nifty little solo.

DeusExMachina 09-03-2005 11:31 PM

Money is alright, but bores me when listened to often. Probably my least favorite track on DSOTM.

I love the Wall movie.

bibbl, check out the Pink Floyd discography thread. You can download the Symphonic Floyd there.

adioviva 09-04-2005 12:04 AM

The wall is pretty bad in my opinion, except for "We Don't Need No (Education)"

I don't know which part of that sentence to correct first.
does anybody have any reviews about The Wall the movie?

I never quite understood this whole thing about needing to be on drugs to understand The Wall....they even said that on TV one time (MTV or one of those channels). It's The Wall! If you've ever heard the album, you should know exactly what the albums about....and the movies exactly the same thing. You don't need to be stoned to understand it, it's very clear what it's about. Although I've only watched it stoned....(and once on mushrooms, couldn't concentrate though).

You definitely don't need to be stoned for it to make sense.....it is a beautifully amazing movie either way.

edit- and what on Earth did that one person say about The Wall? We don't need new education???! We'll let them off on the technicality of obviously being a Floyd noob.

Yeah, the solo is great. It's also supposedly the only number 1 hit to be written in 7/8 time. Or something to that extent.

DeusExMachina 09-04-2005 07:45 AM

I would imagine The Wall would be harder to understand when on drugs.

Pay no mind to this dickhead, guys. He's also trolled the Dream Theater thread too complaining that they weren't following a certain geometry or something. Ugh.

WheepingGuitar39 09-04-2005 10:10 AM

Oh **** it.
I just finished replying to this moron in the DT thread.

and I REFUSE to believe DirtyQuebec is quebecois.
I don't feel like typing in my theory again.. it's in the DT thread lol

Lunch 09-04-2005 10:48 AM

Just ignore him, he has nothing better to do than try to get people angry on an internet forum. WheepingGuitar, do you have Is There Anybody Out There? Someone uploaded it in the A&I YSI thread but it didn't work.

WheepingGuitar39 09-04-2005 12:14 PM

...the song?

or the whole album

Lunch 09-04-2005 12:58 PM

The whole album, of course I have the song.

adiovivo 09-04-2005 02:16 PM

I know everyone one knows about DKSOTM and the wizard of oz but I found out that Echos sinks up with the pilot episode of DeGrassi? When the part after the seagul part comes on, its like a sonic orgasm?!

Flaminghotchino 09-04-2005 02:24 PM
I know everyone one knows about DKSOTM and the wizard of oz but I found out that Echos sinks up with the pilot episode of DeGrassi? When the part after the seagul part comes on, its like a sonic orgasm?!
Really? I just tried it and it only seemed to work in the beggining... and then like a couple of parts after that...But it's not as good as the Dark Side of the Rainbow.

I also hear that if you play Pigs on the wing part 2 it goes along with the beggining of "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air" :thumb:

adiovivo 09-04-2005 02:27 PM

Why wouldn't pigs on the wing part 1 work, I thought they're the same?

The final cut is really bad, i think!

How about you back up your idiotic statements, instead of just vomiting on your keyboard and pressing enter.

WheepingGuitar39 09-04-2005 03:29 PM

ok mr.adiovivo who knows nothing about everything.

I'm going to have to agree with wholedzep that you should stop vomiting on your keyboard and pressing enter.
Dont talk about stuff you dont know.
Now.. about what you told me in the DT thread... which was a big pile of crap of a post.

Everyone knows the french quebecers love Pink Floyd. Why? ... who knows seriously.
I guess the music just struck them very well..
And what you said was pretty stupid that all the french population of quebec only listen to gilles valiquette (im supposing he's the one you meant).
and that only the english quebecers listen to pink floyd.
totally false buddy.

to tell you the truth, almost all the english quebecers listen to techno or hip hop. The most part of classic rockers (Especially Pink Floyders) and metalheads are french quebecers.

And stop bringing up seperatism when it has nothing to do with what we are talking about.

Thank you, goodbye.

audioviva 09-04-2005 03:29 PM

Umm, final cut is bad because, as talented as Roger Waters is, his music doesn't work with a dissinterested david gilmour. as essentially a roger waters solo album, the album lacks the melody and texture that makes pink floyd worthwhile

JUST KIDDING, the album is poo!

EDIT: I meant gilles vigneault!! Go back to peel pub you anglo scum, unless you're too busy doing "favors" :naughty: :naughty: :naughty: :naughty: for steven harper...?
