yeah lets introduce people to black metal with non-black metal bands. I think you should leave it to the people who are actually into black metal to give the advice. I had no problem getting into Mayhem, Burzum, Bathory and Thorns back when I first started listening. People don't need your faggy non-black metal bands.

sorry BRA but agreed here. Burzum is a great starting point for a new black metal listener, and so is Bathory. Recommending crappy bands is pointless.

Plenty of us got into bm via Burzum, Mayhem or Darkthrone.

And an equal amount of us got into BM via Dimmu Borgir, Satyricon, and Rotting Christ.

My introduction to the genre was Bathory's Blood Fire Death. From there I got into Mayhem and Burzum, Darkthrone, and Emperor. Practically the 5 most obvious bands, but it was a very good start i think.

I had never heard Cradle of Filth or Dimmu before that and when I tried listening to them after hearing stuff like Bathory there was no contest.
