Is it just me or does anyone else think Window, Window is a great song?

Was it only ever recorded during the let it be sessions? Or was it recorded on any of Harrison's solo albums? I love it :)

TheDMV 11-21-2005 10:00 PM

I heard Magical Mystery Tour (the song) for the first time today. Is the rest of the album like that? My hippie friends like it, and I'd like to diversify my Beatles collection, so considering it is BEatles work: how highly recommended does it come?

Magical Mystery Tour is just an overall cool album, I'll send it to you over email soon.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 11-21-2005 10:20 PM

It used to be my favorite Beatles album until I discovered how perfect Revolver really was. "Strawberry Fields Forever", "I Am The Walrus", "Penny Lane", "All You Need Is Love" and "Fool On The Hill" are the highlights of the album. It is fantastic and must need for any Beatles fan IMO.

TheDMV 11-21-2005 10:26 PM

I really do need more BEatles albums; it's a shame I've "overlooked" them. When I was first getting into to music, I enjoyed there work on Beatles1, but I sort of forgot about them when I would write all my favorite classic rock bands on my binder etc. MY brother picked up a few more of their albums and I have consistently enjoyed Beatles music yet never looked much farther into them.

MMT is a good album. I like all the songs on it. Revolver is great too.

I love it, probably my third favourite after White and Revolver. Get it!

Seafroggys 11-21-2005 11:26 PM

MMT is great. Probably third or fourth favorite, behind Abbey Road, White Album, and Let it Be Naked

Magical_Mystery_Tour 11-21-2005 11:28 PM

I would have to say that MMT is my fav Beatle Album (looks at name). It has alot of great songs, like "Hello Goodbye, Strawberry Feilds Forever, MMT and Your Mother Shoul Know." Sure it wasn't relased in the U.K till 76', but it was still a very good album.

Let's all get up and dance to a song that was a hit before your mother was born
Though she was born a long long time ago
Your Mother Should Know.

Love that song. :D

MMT is my 3rd favorite behind the White Album and Abbey Road.
MMT is my 3rd favorite behind the White Album and Abbey Road.
The White Album is one of their best albums, with some great songs like "While my Guitar Gently Weeps, Rocky Raccon, Yer Blues, Happiness is a warm Gun and Helter Skelter," but it also has some of their worst songs, IMO, like "Honey Pie, Wild Honey Bye, Good Night, Long Long Long and Savoy Truffle." Still a good album though.

Lunch 11-22-2005 12:10 PM

No doubt about that filler on the White Album. However, the best songs on it are up there with the best Beatles songs, so it can out weigh the crap.

Agreed.

Man I just saw the sweetest thing I've seen in a while. It was at the Rolling Stones Rock N' Roll Circus, and it was a preformence, 1968, of the White Album great "Yer Blues." The catch is, is it was not the Beatles preforming it, or at least not all of them. It was John on Rythm/Vocals, Clapton on lead guitar, Keith Richards on bass and the drummer from the Hendrix experience( the name escapes me right now. Thats alot of talent in one show.

Jacaranda 11-22-2005 09:34 PM

Mitch Mitchell was Jimi Drummer.
The Who Performance > Any band on there, they totally stole the show. But only because Brian Jones was too drunk and stoned to play decently!

magicbus 11-22-2005 10:03 PM

That was an awesome version of "Yer Blues". I want to get Rock N' Roll Circus just for that.

El_Goodo 11-22-2005 10:10 PM

Yeah...lol the conversation before Yer Blues is retarded lol, there both stoned out of there minds.

Keith: Yer Blues John! Yer Blues!

They didn't go through with the idea because of how badly the Who owned the rest of the competition.

Oh, go look at kiddie porn Pete. Wait, what? :)

I just relistened to Let It Be, Sgt. Peppers and remembered why Sgt. Peppers rules so beatlecore.

This is disgusting I just happen to be listening to Who's Next... I'm ready to pull a Van Gogh.

Leper 11-23-2005 12:48 AM

There's not a single bad song on Sgt. Peppers. It's simply an incredible album. Magical Mystery Tour is definitely a must own as well, as Schyma mentioned. My mom has it on vinyl, so I asked her if I could have it and she said sure, she never liked it anyway.:) (She's more of a fan of early Beatles material. She describes Magical Mystery Tour as "when the Beatles went weird.")

Seafroggys 11-23-2005 01:08 AM

I really want to see that Yer Blues performance....and yeah, The Who did completly own (I saw it on TKAA)

Lunch, why do you always must whore the Who in this thread ;)

I remember a week or two ago informing my guitarist that The Beatles psychadelic era wasn't their late era, rather than their middle (I consider late White Album, Let it Be, Abbey Road).

I can send you "Yer Blues" over AIM if you'd like. That's the only clip from the movie I have though. Just get to me on AIM next time you're on.

I have a real low-blow that I could use here, but I have some class so I won't.

Because I have nothing better to do, and no one else will whore the Who so I feel obligated. To be fair though, I didn't even bring it up.
