Yea, I prefer Discovery as well.
I think their new one has just came out, so I'll pick it up next time I have the chance. I was just looking for opinions. I would suggest you go to their site where you can stream the video for their new single, Robot Rock, if you weren't on a 56k.
I love that single, and Discovery is a great album. Cant wait to pick up the new record. |
I wanna be sedated.

Can anyone tell me all the things that "GarageBand 2" comes with? Im thinking about buying it...

Don't, there are tons of better programs, unless you have a mac or something |
so... what do you guys play? I play the drums
|

Unless I missed something...macs are better for recording? |

What do you recommend? |
Yes. Duuuh. Have you been living in a hole for the last seven years?
|
Unless I missed something...macs are better for recording?
Umm, only thing that makes them better is their ability to multifunction better, because of their speed. You can get a normal computer thats fast, and it would be the same. Soundcard is the only real thing I can think of that would be better in a mac.
What do you recommend?
Cubase, Sonar Cakewalk |
I hate macs

I might look for it anyway, but I've got a rather long shortlist of stuff I'm currently looking for already.. Have you seen Daft Punk's Interstella 5555, by the way? *leaves for a while* |
I thought there were more programs and such too? I know most media production is done on macs. I also know there is a class for music students here that deals solely with music production on macs, so I had pretty well gathered they are better to use, no? |
Cubase, Sonar Cakewalk
This is probably a stupid question, but would these also come with the ability to record? Or are they mainly just for mixing? |
Macs are supposed to be better for design work, like graphics work
|
but I still hate macintosh...but iPods are kool
|

Cakewalk records, that's what I have. |
I don't record. That's why I have no clue what you're talking about.
|
Cubase also records. That's what I have.
but I still hate macintosh...but iPods are kool
i dont have an iPod...i want one...i have a brand-less (ie imported from China / Hong Kong) 128mb mp3 player, i can fit 30 songs on it max :upset: |
This is probably a stupid question, but would these also come with the ability to record? Or are they mainly just for mixing?
Nope, you can do both. Record and mix. MIND YOU: I'm not telling you to buy these programs, Cubase and Sonar are 600 -900$, just download them off a bittorrent site, or I can send it to you.
I thought there were more programs and such too? I know most media production is done on macs. I also know there is a class for music students here that deals solely with music production on macs, so I had pretty well gathered they are better to use, no?
I never said otherwise.... I'm just saying you can do anything on a conventional computer that a mac can do... Only thing macs offer is speed and less bugs and a good soundcard. If you have a fast pc, take good care of it, and have a decent soundcard or a POD then you'll be fine, you dont' need no mac. You know that guy I posted his music here a while ago? Bulb? Everything he does is on a normal pc...i'm just saying Macs don't have much special to offer Anyways this is trivial, so fuk u lolz |
or I can send it to you.
plzkthx |
hey, Joe, where you goin with that gun of yours? I'm goin out to shoot my lady, you know I found her messin round with another man. hey, Joe, where you gonna run to?
|
Ramsey: I started trying out drum tracks for my BM song. The GuitarPRO MIDI drums sound pretty real!
|
plzkthx
Eh, I can't actually, I don't have AIM on this computer, I will send it later (like next month later, I'm not getting a new computer until then) So try to get it off zepplinfag or Munky |
I think I'm going to get a new account.

S'all good. I dont even have anything for the hardware aspect of it at the moment. |
Ramsey: I started trying out drum tracks for my BM song. The GuitarPRO MIDI drums sound pretty real!
:D I know. Its great. If you have MSN though I can send you real drums. Except you'd have to figure out how to program those, so you're out of luck if you don't have a sequencer like Fruity Loops or Nuendo |
I think I'm going to get a new account.
Eleventeen did that at one point too, but if you still act like a douche people will know it's you :) |
I think I'm going to get a new account.
:-* Go ahead. It won't stop me. |
Eh, I'll stick with these MIDIs until the next competition.
