Sup Brian, how's your weekend thus far?

/late
So far so good. I saw Rise Against and Thursday last night, and I hung out with a friend for the better part of today. Now I'm watching the Sabres, so all is well.

You?

I need a job. Where should I work? Not doing anything food related, keep in mind.
Why not?

Mute Print 11-18-2006 07:49 PM

I agree with not wanting to do anything food related. People are WAY too picky about their food.

I'd try bartending once I'm old enough though.

Ross 11-18-2006 07:51 PM

I worked in a pub serving food for 3 and a half years, it was the worst job I've ever had and I doubt I'll ever have one as bad as that ever again.

That's my personal reason, although I'd be interested to know what his reason is.

Ahhhhh, I so bad wish that tour would come to Pittsburgh. Did Thursday play 'Autumn Leaves Revisited'?

Its going alright, but I explained a page or two ago about how I almost got jacked up this morning in a car accident.

Also, my mom is a bartender.

I'm not sure. I don't really know the new album, and they didn't say song titles much, so I honestly couldn't tell you.

That sucks.

Also, I might as well take this time to mention the fact that the Sabres beat the Pens on Thursday. :D

Silence, the Sabres are too good this year.

Meh, we're still 8-8, I think. Doing better than the Steelers, thats for sure, haha.

Mute Print 11-18-2006 08:05 PM

Hahaha, yeah, Pens > Steelers.

Sabres are up 1 - 0 on Ottawa!

cobert 11-18-2006 08:08 PM

Some doctor told my friends dad, before the season even started, that the section of Roethlisbergers head that he hit in his motorcycle accident was the part that affects qucik thinking, then he accurately predicted him throwing a lot of interceptions.

The key to the beefalo sabres success is that nice new logo.

New Glassjaw March 27th, 2007. God knows they took their time with it!

But working food service can make you such a good cook, because you learn how to pander to others' tastes and in general get a lot of experience working around a kitchen. I loved working in a deli, but the clean up always blew and the pay wasn't great, so cashier is much better, but if I was just a cook I'd love to work food again.

TheBigMachine 11-18-2006 09:10 PM

The only reason I dont want to have anything to do with food is because I dont want to have to go through all the training and what not, at this age. Im only 14. But, that said, once I've gotten a bit older I'd be interested in doing that, but for now Im just looking for something in normal retail.

Jessizzle 11-18-2006 09:13 PM

yeah, i work at tim hortons... pretty much worst job ever.

making coffee isnt hard, but when im on sandwhich counter.. man its tough.

TheBigMachine 11-18-2006 09:15 PM

Yeah see. All food jobs ever get is bad reviews.

Permanent Solution 11-18-2006 09:32 PM

That's because most the people who work food service are kids and don't realize that customers bitch in any field because they're just being introduced to the real world.

cobert 11-18-2006 11:12 PM

Well Im filling out my SAT registration. Im interested in studying a lot of things, but I dont know how they would be practical unless I wasnt to be a teacher in that field.

Permanent Solution 11-18-2006 11:21 PM

Like what?

cobert 11-18-2006 11:23 PM

History.

There is reasons for sociology though, and I chose that as one of my interests.

Surtr 11-18-2006 11:37 PM

Date=Sucess.

I'm back in the groove.

And the new J. Bond movie is actually pretty good, though it extends too much.

cobert 11-18-2006 11:43 PM

history's a good degree if you're pursuing a graduate degree.

cobert 11-18-2006 11:58 PM

I just dont understand how I would use that stuff out of college.

STEW GIVE ME DETAILS NOW (and again, great avatar).

Well, the uses of a degree in history are thus: to have a degree to pursue further education such as law school, or to teach. Though if ou want any sort of money teaching history you'll still need an advanced degree.

But nothing wrong with educating yourself for the sake of learning. that's why I might be in school for 3 graduate degrees hehe.

cobert 11-19-2006 12:07 AM

Yes, nothing wrong with that.

I secretly kinda want to be a mail carrier.

100& true. I went and saw it last night but started to get annoyed because it was too long and the action had died down.

Dinosawesome 11-19-2006 12:13 AM

Yay, so I finally got around to ordering some CDs I've downloaded but feel I should own, they are:

Forgive Durden - Wonderland
The Classic Crime - Albatross
JamisonParker - Sleepwalker
Cursive - The Ugly Organ

I also ordered the Kid Metropolis CD (Sliver (from emecks)s band) and Brand New should be arriving in the mail on tuesday or wednesday.

Huzzah!
