Sent it out. Fast upload. It's a good album but I think The Psychadelic Sounds of... is supposed to be better. I need to listen to that one now.

Leper 11-26-2005 03:28 PM

Hehe robo your George Harrison avatar looks like Jason Lee in Almost Famous.

Woodstock 11-26-2005 03:35 PM

This is definitely more accessible than The Psychadelic Sounds of..., but it's just missing some of the energy that it had. But I like the groove it has.

I hate to break it to you....but the jug played no part in that noise. It was a gimmick. I read it in an interview with the band, the "electric jug" noise was just him doing a scat type thing into the mic with effects (think about it, you can reproduce that noise pretty easily with just your voice). He still had a jug, but he actually didn't even blow into the jug, he just made his noise into the mic.

I'll try and find the link to that interview, it was a really good one.
AV: I believe he held a microphone next to the jug that made the actual "chuga-chuga" sound and never actually blew into the jug as many assume.

TO: That's true. He could have done it without the jug. The jug was a prop. He could have done it with just the microphone, but it looked more like an instrument on stage and there was some resonance coming out of the jug.
 No jug!:p

There still was a jug, even if it wasnt electric.

Leper 11-26-2005 03:55 PM

"Aww even that (the jug) doesn't help anymore..........................I didn't say stop."

Haha good ol' Homer.

I just saw Walk The Line. It was pretty good. Although they didn't show anything about his later days. It went up until him and June got married. Still good none-the-less.

And Dr. John is tonight. It's gonna be a good day.

didn't have to use my AK :p

Leper 11-26-2005 04:24 PM

I wanted to see Walk the Line the other day, but neither of my dumb-*** friends wanted to watch it, thus rendering me Walk-the-Line-less.:( I'm probably going to see Just Friends tonight though. It looks good for a laugh.

thickasabrick 11-26-2005 04:28 PM

I wanna see Walk The Line. Was it like more focused on his relationship with June, or his music? I hate when they make a movie out of a musician and then make the movie a sappy romance movie.

Jacaranda 11-26-2005 06:08 PM

I've just found out why I like Joni Mitchell so much! (Other then the fact that she is really good.)
Its because her voice reminds me of Alison Krauss alot, and ever since I was like 5 I've been in love with Alison Krauss.

Oh shi, I re-discovered Led Zeppelin's - Self Titled again. I love it!

It's not really focused on his music, but it there are a lot of performance scenes. It mainly focuses on problems with his personal life like how his first marriage fell apart, his drug problem, his relationship with his father, stuff like that.

Sounds like it's very similar to the Doors movie..

MBS 11-26-2005 11:20 PM

Holy crap, I feel complete. Paul was so amazing, it's not even funny. Singing along with Hey Jude and watching him perform Helter Skelter live was amazing. He told a cool story about how he fell into the hole his piano came out of. But, wow, seriously.

Leper 11-26-2005 11:23 PM

Glad to hear you had a blast MBS.

Lunch 11-26-2005 11:24 PM

All I got to do was watch the end of the Closing of Winterland Dvd on PBS and watch some good parts of the UK's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee ceremony on VH1.

Good parts = Bob Dylan, The Who, The Kinks.

Floyd's getting inducted or introducing, am I right?

Edit: Fnnrqwin's at the McCartney show now.

JonG 11-26-2005 11:55 PM

Dr. John was amazing. Really good show. Pretty long too. Pretty good opening act, then he comes up on stage walkin' like a pimp. Unfortunately he didn't play anything from Gris-gris.
